If I am in Nigeria, I am certain to have monthly savings way above N500k after tax and other expenses but I wouldn't want to operate physically in Nigeria for now.

Then you need to come over and compare.
Travel / Response To A Nairalander's UK Japa Experience. by Nanorest: 1:00am On Nov 02, 2023
This is a response to fullclub.

First of all, I am not a fan of UK or any other European or American Hustle. I am here to hustle and make money.

The op said there is no job which is a big lie. I think he is being sponsored and there is no way he spent 35m on this trip and will still be owing 9000 pounds.

All the new comers I know that moved in recently are all working be it student or dependant. Most are studying masters and no one spent up to that amount. All used indeed for job search and they are employed.

Some are doing two jobs sef.

To the house issue, all are also in their own rented apartments except couples who find it hard to get apartment but best thing is to look for others and team up to rent full apartment which is even cheaper.

Everything the OP said is 100% false. I even know of companies that don't require your application. Just put a call through and they start disturbing you for immediate start.

Lastly, about the tax system in the UK, most Nigerians are using it as a cover up. After tax, there's still a lot to cover your feeding, accommodation, transport with a lot of change even upto 1k to 2k pounds depending on your pay. I am talking about factory workers who are the least earners in the UK.

The only thing I will advice, if you are coming here to hustle, invest your money home as this country is not for long term stay to me. Forget what you hear on social media, there is enough Jobs here but don't come here if you are earning about 500k after expenses in Nigeria because it will be like downgrade to you.

OP you are very correct....
A whole lot of people are like u who live abroad, yes they are comfortable, but still yearn for home... despite the shortcomings of Nigeria, there are tons of people abroad who see Nigeria as the long term plan to come back and settle after hustling abroad....
Someone on this thread say his relative plans on taking extended family abroad, a whole lot of people will frown at such idea..no matter how bad Nigeria is, lots of Nigerians have strong connections to their homeland...
God forbid i forget my sweet ngwaland .my sweet igboland...

You will notice that they will call Nigeria he'll before leaving but once they make money over there, they start building houses in the hell. What I see is just poverty making them reason that way.

Nigerians with zero common sense.

He left Nigeria because of the opportunity to make money in UK.
He prefers living in Nigeria to UK but since he is looking for a better opportunity in making money, UK to him is better.
People telling him if you like Nigeria why don't you make money in Nigeria, you people don't have sense.
You that doesn't like your job, why are you still working there?
You guys should be logical, one can go and hustle in an environment they don't like, simply because you are hustling in a particular environment, that doesn't mean you should like it.
Nigerians always regurgitating same words "if you don't like it there, come back blah blah blah"
Can't you have other meaningful reply by repeating same words, get a brain for yourself

They are just too annoying bro. Next thing you will see them building houses in Nigeria they don't like. Tell me what they want to do with house in Nigeria if they don't ever want to come back. Will they accept charity work without pay just to remain in their dream country?

My brother is in Ireland and has vowed never to come back to Nigeria , he says his dream to move all his family ( extended ) down to Ireland or the UK as a whole so that he'll know he doesn't have any relatives in Nigeria , this is someone who went in 2020 immediately they lifted travelling ban after COVID. Why do you think he has this mindset and you don't , I'll tell you why , people like you hate rules and prefer to circumvent the law , you're loud and oppressive and don't have the free hand to do that. The UK or any first world country is easily better to stay than Nigeria , take this from me.

Which rules do you hate? If you want to leave the country, do it in peace and stop looking down on those who couldn't do it. There are many people in Nigeria who are better than you

Can you relocate for instant job? I will just give you the number and you start work straight away. The only thing you need to pass is if you can lift something up to 30kg. If you can't, that means you are looking for soft work which you will not see. But one thing mostly is that those who have made it should go back home and set up a business so that it will go back to COVID era when people where begging you to come work for them.

I don't know how people prefer the life here over the one in Nigeria. I think it's just a defence on the syndrome using something like security, good life and others but I am not part of them. My goal is to make money here and establish myself in Nigeria.

I prefer an insecure Nigeria to a secure UK provided there is money. Let's stop deceiving ourselves. Our main motive here is to make money not that we enjoy life here.

You should be good but double check with the airline.
So that overzealous staff do not trouble you on your way out at the airport.

Ok thanks

If you have more than 1 stop in Europe, it would need a transit visa.
Your 1st leg is a 1 stop(Frankfurt) then Toronto. The return leg is a 2 stop in Europe.

If you have no plans of using the return leg, then you can be fine.
I would advise you call the airline. Or just get a 1 stop in Europe ticket.
On a study visa, you can use a one way ticket also.

The return have no use actually.

As part of efforts to strengthen existing bilateral relations between Nigeria and Haiti, the federal government has completed the construction of Benoit Batraville High School located in Saut-D’eau, Haiti.

The project was Nigeria’s response to calls for assistance from Haiti following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that devastated the country in 2010. The project was supported by well-meaning Nigerians and the Red Cross Society.

The project, which was earlier suspended in 2015 due to unforeseen circumstances, was rejuvenated by the Nigerian Government through its High Commission in Jamaica that is concurrently accredited to Haiti in 2022.

Upon satisfying due process requirements, the Mission awarded the contract to a Jamaican-based Benson Construction Company. Consequently, the project began in February in spite of numerous challenges including insecurity, and it was completed in August.

The building was handed over to the Haitian Authorities on August 29 amidst excitement while the handover ceremony was graced physically and virtually by top government functionaries of both countries.

In attendance was Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Jamaica with concurrent accreditation to Haiti, Dominican Republic and Belize; Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, Minister of Education Haiti; Mr. Nesmy Manigat, Director General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Haiti, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs Haiti; Mr. Azad Belfort, as well as senior government officials from Haiti

In her remark, Ambassador Tamuno applauded the bilateral relations between both countries and expressed delight at the delivery of the project.

She was categorically grateful to God for seeing her team through. She also used the occasion to thank the President of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his Renewed Hope Agenda and commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

Tamuno also thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar and his Haitian counterpart, Monsieur Jean Victor Geneus. Others are Nesmy Manigat, Minister of Education, Haiti and the Municipal Council of Saut-D’eau for their support and cooperation towards the timely and successful completion of the project.

She further enjoined the students and teachers to make good use of the edifice delivered to them while expressing her willingness to revisit Haiti soon.

Nigerian top diplomat, used the opportunity to advocate and urge stakeholders, most especially the United Nations, to assist with returning normalcy to Haiti.

The Haiti officials applauded the Nigerian Government for the landmark project, stressing that without the government of Nigeria, it would have been impossible to achieve such a goal.

Hello

This is not a requirement for study visa so why do you say so and how is this a new update?

Not everyone will end up in the healthcare sector or working in sensitive offices with vulnerable people as part timers

Also they must finish their studies before switching which is typically in a year some even more.Police clearance certificate is usually valid for 3-6months so a waste of resources

Why are you advising people to get this document when it isn’t needed?

Cheers

It's required if you want to get a job faster. This is from people who travelled recently without one. I am not saying it's required to travel but if you want to work as a student, you might need it.
Politics / LP Rejects Edo LG Elections by Nanorest: 9:15pm On Sep 03, 2023
The Comrade Julius Abure-led Labour Party has rejected the result of the Edo State Local Government Election held on Saturday as announced by the State Independent Electoral Commission

The LP condemned the election as conducted by the Edo SIEC, describing it as another sad testimony of how low a state government can descend in attempting to rubbish the gains of democracy.

This was contained in a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, in Abuja, on Sunday.

Ifoh quoted Abure as saying that democracy can only succeed when the authorities allow the votes of the people to count and the choice of the voters respected.

He said, “Reports from our agents across most of the polling units in the state confirmed that there were deliberate effort by the EDSIEC to frustrate voters by ensuring that the electoral officers either came late to the polling units or didn’t show up at all.

“In few places where the election held, insufficient ballot papers were brought with no single result sheet
.

“But at the end of the day, results were churned out with the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party returning elected.

He further said, “Before the election, credible information reached us that the state government had no intention of conducting any election, let alone a credible one.

“The EDSIEC we gathered simply took instructions from the government house and announced an already prepared list as winners of the election.

Great job though.
