Shannon70: If you are interviewing in the UK it will certainly revolve around how much leave to remain you have in the tcountry. I have about 10 months left. I have spent 6 months in the UK. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I already asked my University to provide me with a letter stating I am on vacation. Would that be helpful in anyway? |

Promoter2: Just hold you money and cogent reasons to show you will return to base after visiting. Your friend being there or inviting you doesn't matter much. Your ability to convince the VO matters. Thank you so much for your response. How about getting a letter from my University and having some money in my account. Will that do? |

Hello guys! It has been a while. I need some insights on an issue. I know this isn’t the thread for it but I already asked on the thread with no response. Also, I feel some people might have gone through my question and can guide.
I’m currently in the UK studying for my MSC. Prior to moving to the UK, I’ve had a few travel experiences in Asia. My friend (a Nigerian) lives in the USA. He’s got his papers, a good job and wants me to visit during Christmas. Now, my problem is I’ve heard some discouraging info that I wouldn’t be given the visa. I know there are a lot of people on here with good insight on the visa process. Please, kindly advice on how to start the process, what are some likely documents I would need (I have some but I’m not sure I’ve got them all), should I bother apply, and what are the do’s and don’ts of the application.
Thanks in advance y’all. |

Cheers Hi duchess! How are you doing? Do I need to take a PCR Covid test before traveling to the UK? Also, do I need to fill a passenger locator’s form? |

horlaitan: Year 2020, I was denied tourist visa into the UK, I applied alone. 2022 my wife applied to a UK University and by God grace she'll resume by September and I wanna travel with her as a dependent. Will my previous travel history affect my application? No, it wouldn’t. Just make sure you declare it during your application. |

Masjeff14: What about the birth certificate issued in Nigeria that UKVI accepts for visa. Were they issued in UK too? It clearly states on the UKVI website that if you’re using your parents account as POF you should provide a birth certificate- which means it’s a legal document for that purpose. On the other hand, the document you posted refers to errors on birth certificates issued “in England and Wales”. It doesn’t apply to us. |

Masjeff14: Kindly find as requested. What you posted is contrary to what you advised. The document clearly states “birth certificate issued in England and Wales” not birth certificate issued outside England and Wales. Was the OP’s birth certificate issued in one of the countries listed? |

Godbless55: Pls what should I do
Applied for student visa and did biometrics on 11th of April, got NSF mail on 16th of may and replied 17th of may. I sent paid email on 25th of may and decision has been made. But it till now it has not moved from DMC to VAC and no collection email till now. I'm worried what should I do. A paid email since 25 already started that decision made.
Thanks Hi dear! I understand the frustration. Just try to be calm. You can send an email to UKVI explaining that it’s over 10 working days and TLS hasn’t contacted you for the collection of your passport. You’ve been strong so far. Chin up and believe it would end in praise. |

Tilly365: Pls is it possible to apply without submitting a physical copy of your passport? I will be needing my passport for something else so was wondering if i can submit just my bio data page while my visa application is processed Hi! Yes, it is! TLS has that kind of service. You can ask them some questions on how to go about it. |

Masjeff14: Your documents are sent to UKVI by your sponsor. It is not mandatory to upload those docs by the applicant in their visa application because UKVI has assigned those powers to the HEP to assess you and request for CAS through UKVI after sending your docs to them. However, please upload because others made it a norm. Also note it's PBS. Having a CAS is 50points, 10points from English language (which is also in your CAS) that's 60points already.and remaining 10points is for POF( this is where most of the visa denials come from) because it must be verified.
Kindly see the UKVI student route guide that states you don't need to send your qualifications if your sponsor is HEP. Exactly what I read and people have gotten their visas without submitting documents except POF bad TB test. However, he should upload them if he hasn’t don’t his biometrics yet. |

Gloriyah: No they don’t send your documents to UKVI.
You’re to submit the documents so they(UKVI) can verify what you were accessed with.
About people getting visas by only submitting POF, I haven’t heard of it. Oh okay. Thanks for correcting me. |

@ Duchess
Good morning! How are you doing?
Quick question - If my parents applied for US visa lottery when I was little but didn’t get it, is that considered a visa refusal? Do i have to state it as a refusal during my application? It was 15/17 years ago. |

duchess90: Hello,
She doesn't need her decision letter to get to the UK, her visa vignette should be fine
She will need it to collect her BRP though, send an via this link for advise on alternatives
However some postoffices are fine with giving her the BRP without a decision letter.

Cheers Hi Duchess! How are you doing? If an applicant has a travel history, does he/she need to submit a photocopy of the visa stamp? I mean, since you're submitting your passport, the caseworker would see it right? Or will the TLs agent scan the pages and upload? I've not heard anyone mention it but I was reading up on something today and I need to kill my curiosity. |
