abubakar123olat:They applied from Lagos Ikeja |
Olubi15:Hi. My sis and her kids did biometrics on the 8th of August and they were all granted their visas yesterday the 30th. I did invite her. They will be staying with me so I wrote a letter of invitation stating they will be staying with me. She will be sponsoring their trip but I will be supporting with £1,000 in addition to the accommodation and feeding which I mentioned in the letter. As regards cover letter. She wrote only one detailed covered letter introducing herself and explaining the job she does (lawyer). She also explained that she can do private practice while employed under her principal. The income from the private practice serves as additional income that we also included in the application. On her bank statement, she highlighted her salary in one colour and income from her private practice in another colour with lots of evidence backing it up e.g receipts and copies of agreements etc. other things she submitted that may be useful to your sisters application are: Letter of consent from the children’s father, and his passport data page Kids school results and letter of introduction from their school My own birth certificate plus hers. and lots of pictures that we took together to show relationship. Note: They are first time applicants |
giselle237:Ok. Thank you |
tomiwamknd:Biometrics was on the 12th of August. |
giselle237:No. The only travel history they both have is to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage. Any idea how to address these issues. |
Hello everyone. My mum’s visa was refused based on this (attached is the refusal letter). We did explain in the application the source of additional income which was the monthly money sent to her by children. They also said the monthly expenditure is more than 50k. Of course she can’t have a specific amount she spends in a month. How do we go about reapplying? She works with state government and she has taken her leave already. Funny enough, they granted her husband who has retired.

giselle237:Oh really..when I compared flights using all these websites like opodo and Expedia, British Airways are so expensive, nothing less than 1 million. Will have a look at their website. Thanks |
giselle237:Thank you giselle. So two separate applications? One for the armsterdam and the other for paris. Both can be submitted at Lagos French consulate right? |
Thanks to everyone who answered my questions as regards my brother's visit visa application. He has been granted. Submitted all University related evidence and his bank statement highlighting the funds he receives from parents and siblings. Another question please. If my outward journey to the UK is through KLM (Amsterdam) and inward back to Nigeria is via Air France (paris). Will I need an airport transit visa or a short stay schengen visa? Its a bit confusing, considering I have to pass through 2 different airports. Anyone with transit visa experience please.thanks |
Hi all. Please if my outward journey to the UK is through KLM (Amsterdam) and inward back to Nigeria is via Air France (paris). Will I need an airport transit visa or a short stay schengen visa? Its a bit confusing. |
My younger brother's decision has been made for over a week now, passport not returned yet, even the tracker is still on application received by DMC. I'm trying to reapply for him as soon as possible but can't do it without the passport. My graduation is in June. Is there anyway to go about this. #Update# I sent a paid email and it has now been sent via the courier this evening Thanks |
Adunnishugar:3. I believe it shouldn't be an issue based on my own experience. My mother inlaw came, some plans changed, and we needed to extend her stay. This didn't affect future application. 4. Write a letter of invitation to say your parents will be staying in hotel but your younger sis will stay with you. Include it in your younger sis application as well. Make sure you attach your proof of accommodation too. When I was living in a studio flat, I did this with my mother in law's application and she was granted. I submitted the tenancy agreement. Please note these are my own personal experiences..thanks |
giselle237:Thank you Giselle..I will change it to zero then. Funny enough, I have always used thesame method for my parents, I put the amount they need in the 'personally spend section' and then say, I will pay the whole of it in the 'will anyone pay towards it' section and they always grant them. Maybe because he is a student. Thanks so much |
Thegamingorca:It's because of what the ECO wrote below: "Whilst I have noted your student status, the information presented does not demonstrate your own financial circumstances, for example evidence to show that any money is remitted to you on a regular basis or how you are financially supported during your studies. I am therefore not satisfied you have sufficiently demonstrated your own financial circumstances" Does that not mean his bank statement? Please house |
Thegamingorca:Oh..Thank you. |
Thegamingorca:Thanks. Lots of relationship evidence was put. Childhood pictures, birth certificates etc. He is coming to attend my graduation with my dad who hold a visit visa already so can't really apply to other countries for now..Will just try again with more student evidence and his bank statement, and if they grant him that's good, if not, we move. |
geolan:Thank you |
hunee:I'm saying 1000 was put when asked for how much he was personally planning to spend. However when asked if anyone was paying towards it, I put myself and the whole 1000 for the amount I will be paying, so it means he won't be contributing anything. Thanks |
Cashmadam:Thank you |
Thegamingorca:I'm not an agent please. I applied for my bro. And it was zero I put, maybe you misunderstood. I have applied for my parents so many times without issues. His case is just different being a student hence why I have come for advice here. Will a departmental letter suffice as an evidence? I know attendance may be difficult to prove in a school like OAU. Please your suggestions are needed..what other things can he get as a proof. And he may not have enough in his account , can he still submit his bank statement like that? Thank you for your input |
hunee:The 1000gp is the total for his trip including flights which answers the question of how much are you personally spending. However, i have said i will sponsor him with the whole amount in the application and there is enough money in my account . He didn't show his bank statement at all since he won't be spending any money from his own savings. He is just a student. Thanks |
taolut:Hi Taolut. I was going through your post and could see that back in 2016, you applied for a visit visa for your brother who was in 400 level. If you don't mind and if you can still remember, what documents did you include to support his application, and was he granted. I'm in a similar situation and want to reapply for my brother who is in 400level of a 5 year course. He has been refused based on financial evidence and not showing enough proof that he is a student. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks |
Hi everyone. Please what sort of evidence can an undergraduate in Nigeria who is applying to visit the UK attach to prove his student status. My younger brother has just been refused because we didn't supply enough evidence. Just an ID card and an IT letter from school was submitted. The second reason for refusal is that he didn't show evidence of his financial status. I'm attaching the refusal letter. If you have experience in this sort of application, could you please advice us. Thank you

DonSaintLee:Thanks you so much @DonSaintLee. I have now seen the upload button. The only issue now is, the previous appointment which is for Thursday has been changed to a new self service date that I selected (i.e May 5) because there was no self service option for Thursday anymore when I clicked amend button . My mum is already in Lagos to attend the appointment on Thursday in which we even paid for premium lounge. I'm now confused as to what to do, as I now have two confirmation emails , one for Thurs with premium lounge payment and the other on May 5. Please kindly advice. Thanks |
Dramadiddy:Thanks |
mamawa123:Thanks..I will keep checking. Its been l8ke that since Sunday, and the appointment is Thursday. Still can't upload |
HRprof:yes I did. Even the appointment time and date is 'Not yet set' when I have actually received a confirming email confirming the booked date and time. |
Hi..I have just submitted and booked appointment for my mum. I received an appointment confirmation email for Thursday from TLS. However I can't see anywhere to upload my document..I only see track and appointment not set yet just as in the image below..The appointment date is for Thursday..I am now confused

Gentlesoul3268:They did at Ikeja. Thanks |
Please I just got collection email for my parents. Biometrics was November 9. Standard...I hope it's not their network glitch. |
Debbieeeeeee:Thank you..we will do that. Do you know how long it takes to reflect online? |
maybe they need you to sign attendance sheet from your class rep,
