After the nations cup matches, the champions league took centre stage where we've been battling for customers. The highest we got for now in the champions league was N2600 and that was d match between real madrid and man utd where they played 1~1. Then another was ac milan v barca and that was N2300. The other matches ofcourse were peanuts. Since after the nations cup we are yet to earn 3k on any match. It's cool sha but it's frustating if the two of us would depend on the proceeds to survive and progress. My aim was to gather like 70k, travel to lagos and get back up funds of like 80k to open another independent shop selling mobile phones, electronics and computer accessories. I was able to gather about 50k cash and then I have various debts outside to be paid in by customers. This is about 19k. All this while I had been postponing my journey back to lagos till finally I chose a date. That day was last monday, 25th feb. Before leaving, I had arranged 25litrs of pure palm oil for my people in lagos. I passed thru aba where we had d luxurious park and they charge N2500 to lagos. I had been there since 4pm. I decided to go through the markets in aba and come back for my journey. I was able to compare prizes of some goods with lagos. And I really benefitted from it. |
The extension we created was used for the other group matches. We noticed another increrase in population for the quater final matches. We took the decision to connect the nursery school. I personally went to the market to buy wire worth thousands of naira. We took our time and made the necessary preparations including testing the connection made. When the time came for us to meet the elephants, the turnout of fans was great and ofcourse I tot I won"t feel bad even if we were knocked out by ivory coast in the quarter finals. The main hall was filled to the brim. We sold one hundred tickets and each was for N70. That was 7k. Even at this point fans were scrambling to enter but we directed them to the viewing centre. The guy helping me stayed to control the main hall while I moved on to the nursery school to take care of the fans there. I stsrted the generator and connected the a~v wires. The signals came on. I collected money till I got tired. A population of over 300 hundred in thiis hall but I managed to collect around six thousand naira. So for the quarter final match, we walked home with eleven thousand naira. It was amazing because we were getting around 6k for the other matches. We were even so excited as the unpredictable eagles were cruising to the final. The semi final match with mali only earned us around 8k but we were happy because the final was going to be better. On the day of d final, we took special care to arrange the necessary things because there was no room for error and we needed to get every decision right, so we tested and crossed check every gadget. An hour before the match, we were trying to start d generator for the main but the rope got cut in the process. No one to fix it because it was on a sunday. Fortunately, we had 2 back up generators and we could not afford anymore damage to develop again. We gently carried on hoping all would go right and fortunately we escaped unscathed. We made close to 13k that day but I settled several people that were responsible for the success. Nl'ers readin dis would like think "wow this guy is in money" but it's not actually the case. Several expenses dat would get u bored if I continue to list them out are involved. |
victorD3: You don't need a DJ for your party if you have the right songs in it. The sound is as loud as any speaker you can find in a clubdat was those days. now china phones like tecno and i-tel are really producing good phones |
is that your project topic? smh |
me self dey ponder this thing for long. now that u raised it, i think seun is likely to clarify us on this. my wish though! |
haba! it's too early to start talking about 2015 african nations cup. i guess caf needs the money sharparly but it's really sending the wrong message. abeg make dem chill! |
I rep... Irepodun primary school, Agege, Lagos. Folatek Model high school, mulero, Lagos Ahmadu Bello university, Zaria and now based in akwa ibom state. P.S: An ABU graduate is naturally ahead of you, yes you! ... |
mods this should be in the jokes section. av been embarassing myself with occassional laughs and everyone's like wtf s wrong wit this guy. by the way i'm typing this using a china phone and can't notice all those things you raised! |
shadrach77: italy is the current world cup holderspain qualified by virtue of winning the last world cup in south africa. the european champions are now italy as they played in the euro 2012 final. |
boron10: Oboy, stop being a pessimist, kill joy or whatever it is they call those that bring up this kind of post. The Super Eagles will emerge the winner today however the stallions play.just want the super eagles to watch out. we can't rule out the chances of our opponents but we go win no matter what! |
The stallions may not have the technical gift but likewise was zambia last year when they went on to lift the african trophy. they didn't play particularly well but the moment they were in the final, they upped their game and shocked the elephants. I hope the stallions are not as clever as the zambians because they will be making our players to run and run and run till the glucose in their blood is exhausted. at this point, they may become complasant and that's the moment we will all dread. gudluck 2 us. |
I laugh everytime i see posts talking about the super eagles chances in today's final. this time last year, everyone was tipping the elephants to trash the chipolopolo to lift the nations cup trophy. it turned out to be the opposite and now the super eagles have to be careful of this stallion team to come out on top. someone will say "TB JOSHUA had declared victory for the eagles" so there's no cause for alarm. even the bible says"and the first shall become last" i am really sceptical about the stallions... |
I'M SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THIS. I ONCE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM BUT BECAUSE I READ HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY I WAS ABLE TO DEDUCE THE LIKELY PROBLEMS. WHAT WORKS FOR ME NOW IS A COMBINATION OF ARTHEMETHER AND LUMEFANTRINE EVERY 3MONTHS ALONG WITH AMOXICILLIN CAPSULES ONE AND A HALF SATCHET. THIS CURES ALL SYMPTOMS OF CEREBRAL MALARIA AND TYPHOID FEVER. THEN EVERY 3WEEKS I TAKE LARIDOX TABLETS FOR CURE AND PREVENTION OF QUICK ONSET MALARIA. SINCE THEN I HAVE NOT BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MALARIA AGAIN |
We had two options on the extension to use. one was one corridor that can accommodate over 80 sitting fans and the other is b nursery school situated close to the viewing centre. d nursery school alone can accommod8 200 fans comfortably. D easier option was the corridor as the electrical connection is easier and consumes less cables. we started wit the corridor and made the necessary connections. it was tough but it has to be done 4 conveniency to customers & also increased income per super eagle match... |
we managed to receive over 7000# for the match. even those that stood were glad to pay because it was a survival of the fittest. the whole place was rowdy and even with two standard standing fans, the heat was something else. Because of situations like this am planning to install airconditioners and get a solar inverter and include a beer parlour alongside. when nigeria scored the first goal against burkina faso, the uniform shout was something else. we then moved on to create space for the next matches... |
GROUP C matches attracted the highest number of spectators. the day nigeria were to play their first match against burkina faso, we had arranged the seats and also rented sizeable number of plastic chairs. the capacity was 120. FIVE MINUTES to the start of the match, the whole seats were occupied. we knew d population was going to be high but we didn't know it would start with their first match. we could have made arrangements for that. we had over hundred plus fans outside justling to have a peep of d tv.. |
The greatest pride i ever liked is knowing that my services goes a long way to affecting the lives of a community. my viewing centre is the only available option for the inhabitants of this community during this year's africa nations cup. the first match of the afcon on a saturday attracted higher number of viewers. it was a double show including man city and south africa. if it were to be mancity alone, it will just earn 700# but on this day, 19th jan, 2500#. |
aieromon: Interesting read.thank you brother |

preshuzpearl: Three years without a job?? God please have mercy. I dont want to stay that long, these three months is enough punishment alreadyIt will be a huge risk staying around and hopefully looking for a job. Just think "WHAT IF?" If in the fourth month u got a job which might not be your dream job, good. what if years pass by and nothing? How can one account for the wasted years? engage in something that will make u financially independent and still hope for your dream job. |
tessyade: Most applicants think like you but the issue is: where will the loan come from? Even the banks cannot help with such loan as they will demand collaterals that can make one go mad. Wishing applicants all the best.If u r focussed, u can save some from your service year & then draw up passionate business plans and explain it 2 ur parents and loved ones, they will top d remaining 4 u. That's hw i got d cash for my business. if u are determined 2 do it, options will com up. cheers |
I completed my service year in june, 2011. During my service yr, I had applied 4 several jobs bt d manner in which applicant were treated made me think seriously about options dat will make me avoid those embarrasments & dis led me 2 open a viewing centre in my PPA in 2011. Since then i hav never applied 4 a single job. currently my viewing centre pays me 35k monthly.my plans now s to own 5 such viewing centres and open phone, computer and electronic stores. the projected income of 300k is enuf 4 me 4 now. |
the phone is still needed, anyone with it can post his or details and we will talk about it. |
TONTO HERE AND THERE! |
do you have UK used nokia E5? how much is it? |
With that amount, it will be easier for someone already in business to triple it and even higher. For me if I'm given that money on loan, i will spend it like this: 1. Buy 50 phones @N1500 each= 75000k 2. Buy terry G kind of bell for N100 3. Miscellanous expenses 5k I will take my goods to every weekly market i know around this area. About four of them and market. I can sell each at 2500. In less than two weeks i will sell all and make profit of 50k. If i keep doing this 6months. I should be talking about millions. |
Elijahmajor: I have 1 week used brand new nokia E6 for just 43k, if u r interested call 08130736162 am in awka. The customer wants a fairly used nokia E5 and is willing to pay not more than 14k. |

Never speak evil of the dead, it might be your turn tomorrow! |

I love the various posts on this thread but come to think of it, the best best plan a corps member can make is to go into business during his or her service year. I have done so and now I'm currently managing a viewing centre of my own along the way seeing other opportunities coming my way. Many corps members will benefit if they follow this path. Follow my threads to read how i managed to do it. www.nairaland.com/1144340/how-start-business-corps-member/3#13659479 You can also read about how i started my viewing centre plus challenges and how i overcomed them. www.nairaland.com/1127338/ex-corps-member-making-it#13309013 |
yokiti: Kudos to the initiator of this thread and those who in one way or the other contributed to it and those that will do that later on. More power and God's wisdom to you all. Thanks for all these information.Thank you for the encouragement. Just follow this thread, there are more coming by God's grace. |
