Thanks efemenaxy for your explanation. @timbuktou this is a young lady who actually TALK THE TALK AND WALK THE WALK,not all these one claiming sending 100 euro to their family members thinking they are doing something. A 29-YEAR-OLD woman who founded West Africa’s first air ambulance service has been named on Africa’s 30 Under 30 list as one of the continent’s most promising entrepreneurs.
Ola Orekunrin, who graduated from the University of York as a qualified doctor at 21 – one of the youngest ever to take the doctor’s Hippocratic Oath in Britain, founded Flying Doctors Nigeria after her younger sister’s death.
The doctor, now 28, recalls her family’s desperate attempts to save her sister when she fell ill while traveling in Nigeria.
The 12-year-old girl needed urgent care but the nearest hospital couldn’t deal with her condition
Orekunrin said she and her family immediately began looking for an air ambulance service to rapidly transport the youngster, a sickle cell anemia, to a more suitable healthcare facility, but found there were none in the whole region.
“The nearest one at the time was in South Africa,” she told CNN. “They had a 12-hour activation time so by the time they were ready to activate, my sister was dead.
“It was really a devastating time for me and I started thinking about whether I should be in England talking about healthcare in Africa, or I should be in Africa dealing with healthcare and trying to do something about it.”
She sold her assets and left a high-flying job in the UK to set up Flying Doctors Nigeria, the first air ambulance service in West Africa, transporting victims of medical emergencies, including industrial workers from the country’s booming oil and gas sector. SOMEONE CLOSE TO HER DIED AND SHE DID SOMETHING!SOMETHING! MOUTH MOUTH NO ACTIONS! |

Mindfulness: How many terrorist attacks took place in France and Germany last years and how many in Nigeria?
How much money will the Nigerian government pay you if you lose your job? How much money will you get in France or Germany?
The people sleeping under the bridge in those countries have access to free medical care. How many can afford healthcare in Nigeria?
PLEASE! |

EfemenaXY: But the big difference is that in the West, basic amenities are the right of everyone and even taken for granted, whereas in Nigeria, these same basic amenities are viewed as privilages to be enjoyed by the rich only.
E.g:
~ Constant, uninterrupted power supply ~ Free health medical health care for all ~ Free education (Nursery, Primary, Secondary, Colleges) ~ Good roads, and supporting infrastructure that work ~ Emergency services
and much more.
Oh, and a Judicial system that works. (i.e: no cause for taking the laws into your own hands a.k.a jungle justice). At least you're 99.9% guaranteed to wake up alive when you go to bed at night, whereas in Naija, it more like a 50-50% chance you won't get visited by hardened armed robbers and r@pists.
And these are the reasons why @OP is being cautioned to consider everything before making a decision. I do understand all you are saying, explaining like this is good. But not the way other people on this thread have been doing. As if there is no danger abroad. Many has met their deaths there too, thinking it is safe. If everyone run away who then will fix it?Some people need to go back and teach the ignorant ones.We can't all run away, because like it or not the family you left behind will be part of the "wicked" people u left. The country needs more enlighten people, those countries abroad were built by human beings.they fought to make their country better and what it is today.People that live here are happy too and many very rich people prefer 2 stay here dan abroad. |

smh as if there aren't serial killers, rapists, gangs abroad. those homeless people sleeping under bridges and in the train are ghosts? those police in the USA killing black people are nigerians. School shooting every year, kids killing their all family. Paris attack, germany, terrorist attacks. evil is everywhere irrespective of a country, race or gender. |

For ur information, this woman recieved $1million donation money for this boy. Linda ikeji is not the cause of the poverty in Nigeria, stop blaming the wrong people-blame your government. |

doveda: Why don't I believe you?
I come from the SW, if a lady isn't in school then she must be under an apprenticeship
A woman can decide to be anything inasmuch it is her choice and she cannot be degraded for her choice!! What a lie! the same SW i live? where are the jobs? go nd see how many married women crying for a capital 2 start something.I do get that it is not by choice dat most are jobless but also how many girls in Uni do jobs 2 support demselves? we need 2 start saying the truth! I was in uni and while my parents could afford my needs,i didn't want 2 be jobless after service so i decided 2 learn hair making and nails.I was making girls hair in hostel ; i remember many of the girls telling me that they dont see why i am subjecting myself to such disgrace. My parents are capable of supporting me.Many of dem have fathers dat can't even afford a bicycle not 2 talk of a phone yet, they wont do anything to care for demselves, they busy flashing the latest phones and clothes.keeping numerous boyfriends to sponsor their habits. Education is knowledge and everyone has the right to be educated. But the problem is not education here, the problem is women craving for bigger things in life without trying to work for them.many are giving examples of everyday women out there. The women who works in farm 2 feed their family, the woman who are hawking breads and bananas daily. There are 3 types of women in nigeria. -the hard working one,who actually strive 2 be successful and stop at nothing 2 achieve it even without a white collar job. -the hard working woman who have no choice dan to settle for menial jobs just 2 take care of their families -the entitled ones who sit at home and expect manna 2 fall from heaven just because they are female and have a kitty. |

But really the signs were right in front of you, you either chose to ignore or didn't see clearly enough (blinded by love perhaps).
It's good thing you moved on, Please ignore him and keep waxing stronger, there's always a future. Am sure you'll find deserved love.
Lastly, why should he even call you? His regrets if true is entirely his problem, let him wallow in them alone, don't give him that closure. Thank you. i have moved on already, tho i have suitors but i want 2 focus on my business dis year, maybe next year i might give love a chance and dis time a very wise choice.(a gainfully employ man). skywalker240: that muppet dont know what he lost And now its gone, and i know he's gonna regret it, trust me when i said that cos no man (real man) see's a womans worth and not keep it in his brains..
