The way almost everything seems to go wrong with governmental bodies in Nigeria needs to be studied. Why is the online tracker not working? That's how I did my national ID and was given particulars with which to monitor it. Until now, I'm yet to get the permanent card.

I've enrolled for my National ID for almost a decade, and I still don't have the permanent card till today.

I went for my capturing on September 27.

And after waiting till last Monday (December 18), I decided to contact one of their officers to find out why it took that long, and lo and behold, he showed me my passport.

It has been printed since November 18 (that's approximately 6 weeks after my capturing). However, I couldn't collect it because I was told that there's an error on it, which will be corrected immediately after the yuletide.

Will go back there first week in January to pick up my passport.

This is my advise for anyone who intends to apply or just applied.

Don't rely on the online tracker.

Go to the passport office 6 weeks after your capturing.

There's high chances that your passport has been produced.

If you register very early in January, it should be ready before February ending.

The average duration is 5 to 12 weeks. Ceteris paribus.

No sms. I didn't DIY, I used an immigration officer for the process. I started calling him since last week to keep checking for me cos I know passport doesn't take time like before again

I don't think a week is possible. My daughter captured Nov 3rd at Alausa and she collected her passport today. Though she was giving Feb 2nd on the slip for collection but it seems faster now

Please, did She receive any SMS to come pick it up or she just went there without prior notice?

I collected my passport yesterday. I captured on 15 September and I got it yesterday.

I've done my capturing since September 27 in Ilorin without any green light.

Please I just track my application, only for me to see enrollment page to the last page saying pending. Meanwhile after my capturing on Nov 8, it was all ticked except for the last page.

What could be the problem?

Recheck after 24 - 48 hours.

This is me, I have been battling depression because of this. I'm 34, I dread speaking in the public. Finally, I just applied for fresh passport on the portal yesterday.
