Music/Radio › Re: Am I The Only Person Who Doesn't Like D'banj's Oliver Twist by Natasha2(f): 10:11pm On Aug 23, 2011 |
Princek12: Many people don't understand the song and therefore do not appreciate it because they do not know the meaning of an Oliver Twist. They apparently did not read the Oliver Twist novel. Put simply, an Oliver Twist is a person who is not satisfied and wants to have everything. Applying that definition to D'Banj's Oliver Twist song, D'Banj is talking about a guy who wants to have all the girls. He wants to have, among other girls, Beyonce, even though she is with Jigga; Nicki Minaj, because her nyansh is bigger; Rihanna, because he makes him gaga; Omotola, because people like her; Genevieve, because she is so sweet; and Nadia Buari, because she does not drink gari.
And the last part of the song immediately before the chorus says, "You want to have them all, because you are just an Oliver, Oliver, Oliver Twist." Rather than for some people to say they do not understand a song and humbly ask for interpretation, they simply say the song makes no sense. Bottom line, the song is entertaining and will be a hit.
As usual, once white people start to like the song and give it the Oyinbo stamp of approval, all these people with inferiority complex who had earlier claimed to hate the song will now claim that they now like the song--that it grew on them. oh please so na you come understand the song pass shey? please lets call a spade a spade and not shovel, the song is crap and that's the truth |

pleep: you mean drop out of college?
no i'm not igbo guess what tribe i'm from. your igbo right? yes i mean drop out of college then you're Yoruba and no I'm not Igbo guess where i'm from toopleep: oh, haha well ive been planning on how to become a millionare since i was three and last yr during the recession I got my lucky break.
So now Ive got enough money to start exporting and importing electronics to Naija with my uncle, we already have buyers. And eventually we going to start mining solid minerals. like lead, iron etc. I cant wait!
so in these circumstances college seems kinda pointless (except for the parties). nah babe you've got t wrong, most people think when you start making money then there's no need for education but that's a lie cos its builds you for life |
Food › Re: Nigerian Girls And Their Horrible Cooking by Natasha2(f): 10:01pm On Aug 23, 2011 |
dboss4life: sometimes i wander where our women are heading to in this country called naija, imagine a woman defending a fellow woman for not knowing how to cook, its so shameful and disgusting, as far as am concerned any woman who cannot prepare a good meal for her husband is useless no matter the level of her education.
some bitches are even saying their man should go to the kitchen and cook for them, then what is the use the man marrying the woman when she cannot cook him a good meal. if men should now be doing the cooking then women should go out to look for money to cater for the family, silly Bottom.
some women believe that it is just to open their legs wide open that is the only obligation they owe their man, its far more than that please. personally i cannot even marry a woman who doesn't know how to cook, fortunately for me my beloved wife is a good cook and thats why whatever she request from me, i give it to her happily because she is a priceless asset to me and even in my next life, i will still marry her.
so please for all the single ladies in nairaland i will advise you all to go and learn how to cook a good meal if you ever want to get married and have a happy home. really? duh cooking is no guarantee for a happy home, if you can't marry a woman who can't cook then billions of men are ready to marry her, cooking should not be a woman thing cos nobody was born to cook if your only reason for marrying a woman is cooking then you your self are a bloody joker. so a woman is useless if she can't cook? really was a woman born to cook? If cooking is what makes a woman then I don't even want to know how to cook |

londoner: I watched it when it was in London, what a disappointment! It was over-hyped and never lived up to my expectation at all.
The acting was also substandard and unconvincing in many parts. One good thing about the movie, was that it gave Nollywood the chance to explore the marketing/advertising/cinema side of movie making.
Off topic, has anyone watched Anchor Baby? nah not yet but i've seen the trailer guess its gonna be a great movie or . . |
