FBS: Obviously you need to outscore your opponent to win a game.
Out-defending the opponent does not necessarily win you the game if you don't outscore first
You can take that to the bank.
Don't understand why some people think say na only 1 team get right to score? Never mind say we were quite lucky that the second goal was given.
Goals, Goals, Goals is the main currency of this game called football. That's the result of the game.
Let's get some more goals please. This theory is based on the assumption that we haven't already outscored the opponent. Where exactly do you draw the line? If you go out to concede 3 goals in every game, then you are saying you expect the team to score 4 goals every game. But how realistic is that? |

airmark: My post wasn't directed to you bro. Didn't even know you had any argument on Haaland and Jackson. You missed the point. I am saying no one had any such arguments. Not me, not Lordfalcao, not anyone else. What would be the reason that anyone compares Halaand with Jackson? My point is .....it will be extremely stupid for anyone to engage in such arguments; therefore, there is no need to accuse anyone of doing it. |

airmark: And some people said we don't need a better striker that can score.
I won't be surprised if some Chelsea fans like Lordfalcao and his friends, rate Jackson above Haaland just because of his workrate outside the box.
City conceded a goal, but they replied with 4. They weren't crying why the defence conceded to fvcking Ipswich. They know that you win matches by outscoring your opponent. You don't have to be OTT with your point. Saying you won't be surprised that anyone would rate Jackson over Halaand is attention seeking, and only goes to show that you don't quite understand the various arguments put before you. You should read what I said about Halaand before he went to City.... so let's pipe down. |

Airmark talking about a player wrongly backed by someone. Funny. Airmark spent one full season telling us how Vlahovic should have been signed by Poch. Now he's removed this one from his long list of strikers that should be signed. Before then, it was Bellotti this, Bellotti that..... Now he wants this to disappear the affiliation like we didn't all see it. And he's talking about someone backing the wrong player. As always, I leave this part to Dayo and Lordfalcao They have a list. |

airmark: It's not about any win, but correcting the faulty premise you are arguing on.
I posted it several times long before now that a serious coach would chase Sterling away from his team. Fraudiola wasn't a fool and Maresca must have seen the nonsense he played for us last season. What's funny about this is that you just posted two pictures showing two instances where Sterling could have isolated Jackson for a tap in on goal, taking him to 16 goals for the season. Meanwhile, if you dig deep enough, you will find at least 4 extra instances where this could have happened across the length of the season. You have inadvertently made an argument that a better 'support cast' than Sterling could have had Jackson scoring 19/20 non-penalty goals last season. Full circle. |

airmark:

Baba, my argument with you and Timbros was: Attack and defence - Which is the major problem?
The transfer window's activities have given you and Timbros the deserved L, so I don't understand what you want me to listen to again from you?
I asked for more more funds to be spent on our attack and it is done. We may spend around 200m on it and I am not sure we have spent 50m on our defence.
Our last game showed that support cast means nothing when your striker is working at cross purposes. Once your wingers are shut down and you have a wastepipe like Jackson topping, it's DOA. So, i wasn't surprised that we fired blanks and many called for quick purchase of a better striker.
We have upgraded our attack with better dribblers as I suggested. However, without a prolific striker, teams will just deny us enough spaces, defend their flanks religiously and hope to score 1 or 2 and steal the maximum points.
Maresca will be stupid not to get a striker better than Jackson in front of goal. His recent actions show that he wants that important surgical operation in our attack and finally getting a prolific striker, is the cherry on the cake.
Just like Mikel, I want us to compete for the Epl title and not just aiming at top 4. We have spent over 1bn and shouldn't be thinking like Aston Villa. Alhaji, you have confused me with someone else. I never joined your attack v defence debate, even though I did acknowledge that Timbros' stance trumps yours by a billion light years. Me I no chop any L. My argument has always been simple. It is financially profligate to spend £80m/90m on the likes of Vlahovic and Dovbyk (and all these other yama yama pipu you keep recommending) who offer no significant upgrade over Jackson. For that manner of money, dude should be coming with 25 non-penalty goals per season minimum. If we listened to you, we would have Vlahovic on the books now, and you will be telling us we still need a top striker. Second argument was that if you like, spend £120m on Osimhen, if your support cast is shite, then in the best case scenario, Osimhen will score 30 goals and we still finish 6th. Similarly, and to buttress Timbros' point, if you like line up with Halaand and Osimhen and each score a goal every game, if you concede twice as much, your strikers count for naught. So na you dey imagine L o. I no know wetin you dey talk. |

Airmark, you should listen to me a lot more. I told you that going into the season with Sterling and Madueke was more of an emergency than the striker position, and any manager worth his salt - especially one who values positional football and trained with Pep - would realise immediately the garbage we are displaying in wing play.
The ruthlessness with which Enzo and the club have dealt with this confirms which department is more of an emergency. So we went out there and got Neto and Felix first.
These managers know that from a game of numbers, you can achieve top four consistently without a £120m striker, if your defence, midfield and wing play is top notch.
Anything else, and you are just Tottenham with Harry Kane.
The team is now top-four ready. We can now go out there and complete Airmark's wishes, if we find the right deal. |

Both sides will be protected wella, in the event of anything. Caicedobets: the way colwill keeps receding when facing speedy wingers instead of being aggressive and tackling them head on shows why he is a fair weather defender..
Veiga is very different from him The decision-making involved with being aggressive/ regressive on an advancing opposition is a function of intelligence and spatial awareness, rather than lack of brute force. We saw Fofana go aggressive on a player today, leaving space behind for Thuram to exploit and score from. This is not how you judge good defending. But I do agree Viega is different from him. |

BlueAngel444: Colwill against Haaland 😳, I would risk it would Renato. 3241 against city considering preseason as well Fofana Tosin Cucurella Gusto Lavia Madueke Palmer Enzo Nkunku Jackson
Jackson could start if it's too high a match for Guiu to start in, but based on fitness Guiu should start same reason I picked Lavia instead of Caicedo. I agree with Guiu starting based on match fitness. But there's a potential issue with Lavia and Enzo starting. We would lose solidity in midfield and DM. Also tracking back is an issue. |
