Maybe BlueMan can confirm, but it's looking like he's mostly a 3ATB manager, with flexibility to play other options.
For the anti-rotation crew, this new guy reportedly used 25 different players within a 7-game span. BlueCo policy. Don't say you were not warned o. |

popizaino: I just something on twitter about his formation and what i saw was ok. 4-4-2 formation with Enzo,Caicedo and Santos in midfield 3 while Palmer is slightly ahead of them and behind the front two of Pedro and Delap. Na the 4-4--2 you go see. He rarely plays a 4-4--2, so don't expect it. |

They've built something
Plus they started the season with 0 wins in 5
You would have slaughtered the manager if it was at Chelsea Popi and context are enemies. |

Ibime: Enzo Maresca clashed with Chelsea over team selection, he didn’t want decisions on line-ups or substitutions taken out of his hands.
Chelsea insist their model hasn’t changed and that any input on rotation came only from the medical staff, focused on player workload.
Maresca believed the problems went deeper, he felt pressure from above to rotate and boost the value of several young players.
— @JacobsBen
Chelsea coach is not a coach but an asset manager or portfolio manager, sharing minutes everywhere to maintain asset value after TDs have bought hundred wingers. Have been stating this fact since Clearlake came in
All those funny substitutions of Gittens, Tyrique, Delap, Blomblom, Felix, JP, centrebacks pairings and constant wholesale changes of wingers every match around 60 mins regardless of the needs of the match are testament to this.
Maresca simply got tired of being a portfolio manager and wanted to be a football manager. Ease of Conference league last season confused these clowns that you can overstock with mids everywhere and rotate anyhow, but now there is no conference league but serious business. CWC final and certain big games shows that Maresca knows what is needed to lock down big games and didn't make funny team changes or substitutions in those games. The rest of the time, he was just an asset manager for Clearlake I have several posts reiterating this point. He was simply a development manager looking after assets. Anyone who didn't understand this framework just didn't pay attention. It was clear in the hire brief. The business model looks to employ someone who plugs completely into the board's recruitment plan at all levels. The football manager will have no veto over purchase and sales of assets, but will be a positive promoter of the model by ensuring value retention in assets, considerably, at all times. This is why he needs to share minutes and manage players. Considering the SOW, Maresca has been the best tool the board of clowns could find. Despite the constraints, he over-achieved. All you needed was to see team setup against big teams, and how he tactically outclassed his peers time after time. Unshackled, we had a tactically astute and adaptive manager who knew football to the core. Those who know know. No respectable manager will continue indefinitely with such technical constraints. It might work for a season.... once you win something, you expect more power over your squad. If you don't get it, and you won't with this clown board, it ends just like this. |

You think Hansi is coming here to compete against one team? This is the freaking PL. If you think Hansi would take over from Poch, with exact same signings from the Chelsea board; no Pedri, no Lewandowski, no Raphina, no Lamine; suicidal high line, and does better than Maresca........ please pass me what thou art smoketh. |

popizaino: The only time I don't expect such expectations from any manager is when they come into a club mid-season but if you had the opportunity of having played pre-season while signing players in the summer, then my least expectations is what I wrote above.
Maresca was here before the summer, signed coupled of players to upgrade for the season so what excuse does he have not breathing down Arsenal's neck except being incompetent himself? Abeg, slow the roll on this yeye yarns. Nobody on this forum ever documented any expectations of breathing down Arsenal's neck. If anything, everyone was saying Poch's second season might have had us stay top 4. We had become an established mid-table team. All of this sudden revisionism is because Maresca came in and took the team straight to second, with one game week away from topping the table at some point. It was at this point people started to believe again. How ironic is it to see that the performance we so desired to see in the team was provided by the same guy we are all now saying had "abysmal results".... We were a mid-table team. |

popizaino: We could only go down from 5th.
I was expecting us to be breathing down Arsenal's neck that any slip up will have us in their position and not be competing with Amorim's team. You must be joking pal. Breathing down Arsenal's neck? You mean when we sacked Poch, your expectation was that the next manager should be breathing down Arsenal's neck in two years? What exactly gave you this expectation as Maresca walked through the door? Tell us. |

swiz123: I am sure they are paying him peanuts. Nothing to do with wages. On top of all the things I used to say on here about Maresca being employed as a development coach, we don begin dey see news about imposition of playing time, rotation, and player choices. You think Hansi wants to work under such circumstances? |

Crystal palace won't even release their most valuable asset, so carry your God forbid go one side. Let's talk "abysmal results"... We were 4th last season, and 5th at the moment. What were your expectations for respective seasons, given the current squad? |

User09: For the others, No.
But you see that Delap, Yes.
Thats not even the bone of contention, he always knew he wasnt the major decision maker from Day 1, so why he kan dey act different.
The Leceister he was coming from, was he the one determining their transfers? As far as I can tell, its the city thing that got into his head Nothing you are saying is true. There's nothing about Maresca this season that was starklingly different from last season, so you cannot say the City thing was any contributing factor to his, or our performance this season. It's a non-starter. What is constant is the recruitment model by the owners across all levels. No one is a visionary on this matter. |

User09: Inform me meister
As far as I know, he was heavily involved in some transfer decisions; particularly for Delap.
Or you think it's a coincidence that he used to play in the championship and with Ipswitch their rival at the time
Or is it also a coincidence that Delap played under him during his stint at City Sorry sir, but you knew wrongly. How can you even suggest this, let alone profess knowing? |

Ibime: Nateevs still hoping for Arsenal to lose so we can chase them in title race
Better put mind on fight for 5th spot with Manure and Newcastle and hope UEFA allow 5 teams into UCL
Only pesin wey no know ball will believe a team with our midfield will compete for league
We have dropped 13 points from winning positions this year. No midfield solidity, no midfield control, just useless wingers everywhere Alaye you don mixed me up with someone else. I replied to you asap letting you know that my Arsenal hatewatch comes from long-standing rivalry, and nothing to do with us competing with them. I went in to state that I would rather anyone else did it as long as they are not Arsenal, Liverpool, or United. It's football rivalry, nothing else You and I stand gidigba on midfield issues, picking out midfield control as a major vulnerability in offensive and defensive phases of our games. I also stand with the defence crew, highlighting their position every game that you just can't keep conceding goals from winning positions. I never tipped us at any time to win the league, or compete. I have always felt we are not ripe. That said, from a goal-scoring perspective, the data shows clearly that we have done enough to be title contending at this point in time because, like Timbros clearly opines "we have dropped 13 points from winning positions". |
