There's a clear difference between 'confidence' and 'lack of sense of correctness'. There's no use celebrating mediocrity disguised as lauding confidence. |
Ibime:The question here is does JM want to play with 3 ninjahs in midfield that want the ball to feet? JM will not play possession football. |
mithel:I feel you bro. Didn't you feel like puking when you saw someone suggest Bosingwa is better than Azpiliucueta? |
nonsoroyalty:It turns out you don't even know how to use punctuation. No regard for sentences. No understanding of when to stop and start. Yet you comment on the illiteracy of others and try to lecture me about understanding. Do you understand your own words? My one year old already writes better. |
nonsoroyalty:Park well abeg. Some of us don't get moved by these cheap insults. What's the point in talking about someone else's literacy when you don't know when to apply loose and lose? Make your points mate or move along. Stop calling all Chelsea fans names. It doesn't make you sound any more intelligent. |
These pea-brained pillocks who can't tell the difference between lose and loose come here insulting Chelsea fans. Who are these annoying brats? |
FBS:Exactly sir. To whom more was given. I don't know if you saw the game. I did and he really showed exactly what I have seen of him - "Laziness" and "sheer unwillingness to work hard". I am sure the youth coaches must have tried many things but obviously, it hasn't worked. Dude needs a kick up the backside. I am usually the one to criticise Jose on this sort of thing but Jose is spot on this time. His performance was just very lethargic. |
Nihilstjnr:I never said I prefer Sterling to Reus. Then saying that Sterling is not better than Salah and Caudrado, come on mate. |
Clowns comparing David Cameron, an incumbent PM at the time of the UK elections (of a state with an established structure for eons) with Buhari, a newly sworn-in President, of a country with a totally dis-stabilized and degenerated political structure, all because of political points. Funny how they claim they already know Buhari will fail, yet every thread they open to criticise him, they inadvertently show that their souls too are secretly craving change. Why complain when you already claim to know? Actors who filled the political climate in the last dispensation had no blueprint to change anything. And for 6 years, they never came up with anything useful. Yet we expect someone outside the cartel (knowing fully how things operate in Nigeria) to have full knowledge of proceedings and hereby have a blueprint before assuming office. Buhari is a wise man. And when he states that "studies are under-way", I would expect any intelligent Nigerian (not previously living in Sambisa forest) to understand that no single person outside the previous government, can ever have a full understanding why things do not work. It should not take a genius to know that not until Buhari assumes office, can he have access to the true extent of the waste, depletion, incompetence and sabotage that have ravaged the system. It should not take a genius to know that if Buhari claimed to have a blueprint on inauguration day, he would have been lying. And most importantly, that blueprint would be worthless when faced with the true state of affairs. This is why I feel that at this moment, Buhari is on point and these noise-makers are desperate for fame. Let these busy bodies continue to blow hot air while the ones who mean business are going about it quietly. |
AirborneLacer:Reus/Fab. . . Hmmm. You won't like this but I prefer Matic Koke Sterling Reus Hazard I also believe fullback positions need surgery. We have Azpilicueta who is solid defensively but attack-wise is almost non existent. And then there is a certain Ivanovic who almost always joins the attack at will but requires 90 mins worth of crosses to get one right. We cannot underestimate the influence that the likes of Jordi Alba, Alaba, Dani Alves have on their forward players' abilities to penetrate attacks. I don't know the situation with Wallace's work permit but I will like to give the young man a try at right back. |
Hazardd:We should rather give that position to a youngster. Falcao will not improve us and will cost a lot of money. |
Ibime:Tell me about it. We need serious upgrades. That's why I mention productivity a lot; especially when I talk about the likes of Willian. Very industrious players defensively no doubt but when we have that single chance to go 2 goals up against European heavy-weights, who is likely to take that chance one time apart from Costa? No one. Even lately Costa's sharpness don reduce. We need a solid, hard working midfield. What we need more is a prolific midfield and a quick but very productive forward line. |
Krasid:Why do you and others argue like this? This is not constructive. I have stood on the sidelines and not participated in this argument because it is devoid of logical conclusions. The reason why Chelsea fans place emphasis on Hazard's dribbles and chances created is because we know that if he plays alongside Messi and Suarez, he will rack up more assists and goals. It is not even hard to make this conclusion. Simple reasoning shows that in Suarez, Messi and Neymar, Barca have 3 players that can walk past many defenders with the ball. This gives the opposition more things to worry about and this naturally makes decisions for each one of them, very much easier. At Chelsea, a Hazard-Costa-Willian forward line is very dissimilar to Barcelona's and very many levels lower in overall quality. This gives the opposition fewer things to worry about and their game plan is to mark out Hazard. And as seen in every game, Hazard is constantly marked by 3 players. Opposition players can afford to do that because we don't have a Messi and Suarez alongside him. If he did, opposition defensive game plan will be different and this naturally gives Hazard more space to operate. He will require less dribbles and be suddenly presented with a platform to be more productive. In addition to this technical explanation, Hazard also has strict instructions from his boss to help out his full back for as many times as required. This Neymar doesn't have to do. (It will be interesting to compare km covered per game between Hazard and Neymar) In spite of the challenges and huge difference in quality, Hazard still manages to win EPL player of the year. How hard is it to conclude that Hazard, with similar players in ability, can be more productive? Anyone who argues contrary to this is on a different agenda. I will never argue that Hazard at this moment is better than Neymar but those who think that Neymar is infinitely better than Hazard should go and lie down abeg. |
Debroslink:What do you mean by "you and many epl fans"? Messi proved me wrong? Have you mistaken me for someone else? And did you even read what I typed? |
I love Neymar pa. Loved him years before I loved Hazard. But that love no enter my brain sotey I no go fit mention certain differences in responsibilities. It will be interesting to see how Neymar copes with in the PL, under a certain JM, chasing opposition attacking players to his 18 yard box and then sprinting back to the other end with the ball, in an attempt to create a chance alone without the assistance of Iniesta, Messi and Suarez. It is always helpful to consider all variables when making such arguments. |
Nawa o. Na Hazard people dey take wipe floor like this? |
barcanista:Hehehe. Comical isn't it? Barcanista asking someone to be sincere. You have no moral right to demand this from anyone. I have never replied to your post. I have followed your posts for a long time and I can confidently declare that you are one of the most insincere persons I have ever met. barcanista: barcanista:You have no credibility mate. |
FBS:It is. Colkett just gave an interview on how he had been training with Fab for months and having the opportunity to pick up on things. Good to know that they are learning. Watched him coming up and he has what Josh McEachran doesn't have - strength and tenacity. |
FBS:Did you watch the first half? Boga and Colkett have what it takes to play in a JM team. It was good being able to judge them in the first team. I like young players that don't look out of their depth when called upon. |
Anyone watching the friendly? |
khanye:There's a higher chance of buying back De Bryune than Caudrado coming good. I knew it was the wrong buy long before it happened and I said I cannot see him coming good. I stated then that Sterling at £40m was a better deal. Now we've spent £11m on Salah and £25m on Mr Colombia. It's like another Ramires. Dude will never come good. Unfortunately, we might need to go out there and spend another £25m for another average dude. |
Ibime:No be like selling him. Like out on loan again. |
FBS: Bros how now? Fight since when? That matter don die tipe. I agree that Willian compensates for his lack of numbers in more ways than most of the team. I cannot fault the boy's hustle at all. He works really hard. In fact, I will play him in No 10 over Oscar anytime. If Willian improved his numbers, he will be a steal even at £30m. We just need another winger that scares the life out of defenders to complete that attack line. That's why me likes Sterling. I certainly can do with a Hazard Willian Sterling forward line. I know you prefer Bale but will he be available for anything less than £90m? Plus wages? |
Ibime:Hehehe. I don't see Cuadrdo on your list. What happens to him? I think I heard Jose say Traore is not coming back. So that one might be closed. Meanwhile, don't you think that if Fab gets injured next season, our numbers go fall seriously with Willian in number 10. |
AirborneLacer:Why do you keep asking what happens to this person? This is not Everton where one player bought must play 38 league games. Why does it have to 'comfortably' contain them all? This is a big club and you need strength and quality most importantly, in depth. The way I see it, only one of these players will not play at a certain time and that's not asking for too much. Interestingly Vidal, Koke and Sterling are players with skill, craft and graft who can, and have played in multiple positions. I am not afraid to admit that Fab will most likely suffer the most if such scenario happens. What is very important is that we need to move to the next level - Europe elite where a change to a main player does not necessarily weaken us tactically. This usually involves someone being unhappy about playing time. I am fine with that. We also need to remember that we were lucky this season past with injuries. If we had a major injury to say one of Matic, Fab, Terry and Hazard, there will be no trophies. Let's not assume it will be the same next season. Plus others will strengthen. For me, Europe is very important next season. Not particularly winning it but at the very least making sure that whoever puts us out does so on their last drop of blood. Even with the 'fantasy line up', our reserve could look like Willian, Oscar, Cuardrado, Mikel, Fab, Remy, Drogba. Not very fearsome. Very lightly productive minus Fab. It doesn't have to happen like this though, we can always use 'The Bus' to get us to venue of the finals. ![]() |
Ibime:Hehehe. How times have changed. Meanwhile, I am thinking we should be in the race for Sterling instead of Griezmann (and I really want Griezman). For me, Vidal, Koke and Sterling, DD might go (bring back Bamford) and my summer is done. |
One of the best threads in a while. The exact approach I take to life. |
Hehehe. That 5h1t made me spill my tea. |
Ibime:He is not slow. I don't think he is that unfit either. I believe he is actually lazy. This is why I keep mentioning "working hard" in all my references to him. I have seen him tens of times in youth football. He is a beast going forward but always very unwilling to track back. I believe he can cover just about as much ground as Ake in the same time. Ake just has a desire unmatched by any other youngster now. @Nihilist One will not necessarily disagree with most of your observations. They are well founded and I have seen them over the years. I said more Matic than Mikel because Mikel is actually slow - tracking back and in forward play. RLC isn't slow in his execution. Therefore his sideways passes should mostly be seen as cautious play. If he can work on his mental attitude to the game, then he has in his locker all he needs to become a top midfielder. Hopefully his over £1m a year salary doesn't get inthe way of his desire. |
AirborneLacer:Naaah! Don't take it that far. No one's saying Costa is rubbish. At least not anyone in their right mind. When he is scoring, he is one of the best around. He works hard and puts in a shift always. His volatile nature just gets me on the edge and I was hoping to get the view of others. I for one cannot watch a single game without thinking this is the game he will get sent off. He gets me really nervous. |
Do we need to question Diego Costa yet? No signs of indiscipline all the while he was injured. He returns and everything blows up. I cannot keep cool knowing he is playing. He is almost always one second away from getting sent off and for sure he is going to start/be involved in a fight. Is it time to sign another top class striker? |
