Ahhhh Torres score nau!!! |
Ibime:Bros I thot I conceded long ago. You won on that one. The only thing you sabi pass me. . ![]() |
Anelka on faya. |
Good first half. Kept the ball well. Tight defensively. Kind of dragged towards the end. I hope we can keep the tempo up and get a second goal. If we are up for it, we have the ability to wrap up this tie here. There's fourth place to play for. ![]() |
Honestly that pass from Lamps was sublime. |
Torres will score. I can sense it. |
Ibime:Ibime. I really do and always have agreed with you on that point. We don't move the ball quickly enough. The Left and right forwards are always playing tucked in and waiting for the full backs to provide the width. Before all that builds up, the opponents' defense is packed and we could have many shots yet most of them are off target because of the sheer number of bodies that have arrived in the box. I understand that though Carllotti could ask the forwards to drift out to the byline periodically, I just feel that until we buy real wingers who an also play as wing forwards, we may not be able to play that way always. That's my opinion but I do understand yours. |
Goal. |
Torres did well for another through ball. |
Nice through ball by Torres. |
Ibime:We are unable to play that way. |
Nino is not sharp at alll. See as first touch fail am. |
Wetin do Malouda hair? We nor dey win, you dey do fine boy. Meanwhile nice cross by Torres. |
FBS:Brilliant. This is your comeback after a run of major fcukups? So your learning of English tells you that when a person asserts that a unit of an entity is not as useful as advertised, it automatically suggests that I meant that unit is responsible for a season long failure of the entity. This is shocking. Oh! Now it's crap. I give you four instances of previous posts stating that I did not say Drogba was "THE ONLY" problem of Chelsea, instead of you to man up and apologize for constantly erring, you return with "All na crap". Abject incoherence! Then you jump on another one you probably will debate for another 48hrs. "We could be playing without Drogba and not know" automatically means that Nateevs suggests Drogba is "THE ONLY" one playing badly. . . Dude! Please quit now. |
FBS:I could not even be bothered to read what you all wrote. The only thing that caught my attention and gives me concern is your inability to read and digest. If after 48 hrs of throwing posts at one another you still come back to write this drivel, you must have issues with understanding. What is so difficult to understand in the following Nateevs' posts? nateevs: nateevs: nateevs:Just look at that. It's like I was begging you to read well. This is the 21st and I am still urging you lot to read. But just like the you lot are, you will rather bow down and clean Drogba's backside rather than read well. Let alone face the real issues. Your problem is, no one can say anything negative about Drogba. It doesn't matter what they are saying, they are wrong for using Drogba and Drop in the same sentence. Trust you to come back and say Nateevs said Drogba is the only problem at Chelsea. How can I even take you seriously when you fail to read well? |
Akolawole:I almost fell off my chair. |
@Ibime. Just mention our names. ![]() We won the league and FA Cup playing that system. And we banged in a record number of goals. How has that same system failed? And if true that we miss Ballack in that system, it means the current mid-field is incapable of producing similar results. Which means it's not the system but the players. So which are you defending? |
FBS:This is an argument dude. I wanted figures and facts before your arguments and mine could reside in the same breath. Now the fact that you finally got figures does not mean you prove a point. In-fact they may be proving mine. I wanted you to back your points up and you tried to. I then come back to tell you that those figures are not good back up for your stance. What's the harm in that? DD is a legend. But Legends are not immune to a dip in form. Legends bow out to younger players. Don't play that legend card with me. Is DD more of a legend than Zola is? Why don't we re-sign Zola then? Is DD more of a legend to Chelsea than Giggs is to Manure? How come Gigsy doesn't play every minute. No single top team in the world has a striker who is 33 that is guaranteed to start and play for 90mins. Not one single top team. When it's time to change the phase, it is. Legend or not. Arsenal could have slammed a 90m price on henry to prevent him from leaving. If the board sold Drogba tomorrow, you will probably burn a jersey at SB. Please tell me, apart from the Fulham game, which match was DD benched? Tell me. And lastly, lack of creativity is not "the" issue. Lack of creativity may be "one" of the issues. |
DD has lost some sharpness, but which Chelski player hasn't? Even the ever reliable Cech has lost some sharpness this season. No single Chelsea player appears to have lost sharpness permanently like Drogba. The centre backs haven't. Else we will be conceding poo loads of goals. The full backs have been awesome with the amount of ground they are asked to cover. Mikel has lost that sharpness. He's young and can improve. Essien gives the ball away far too much these days but he's still very decent. Everyone can see Ramires gets better with each passing game. Lamps' gaining back fitness and sharpness every single game. Getting into the box like he used Look at Anelka's display against Sunderland. MOTM by a clear mile. Kalou has always been wasteful and Malouda has only always been just above ordinary. When was the last time you heard Chelsea fans say Drogba was the best player on the pitch? It's not that players can't lose their sharpness but more like he's lost his for way too long. About the whole season. The painful thing is, there is no indication that there will be a turn around anytime soon. 9 goals at 33 for a player at Utd will get him only 20mins per game every game. Why should it be different at Chelsea? As for Sturridge doing well for Bolton, let's not get carried away - one of those goals was a gift from a Zubar back pass. DS has played games for y'all this season without making that type of impact, hence his goals should be taken in context.Yes the most sensible thing to do. However, Sturridge never got 90mins. I watched the Bolton game against the same Everton we played today. He was too much for them to handle. The same back line. He traumatized them left, right and centre and was the primary reason they won 2-0. I remember Ibime's comment about Danny not going to be able to get ahead of Elmander and Davies. . . The same reason he went on loan. 2 games later and he gets a starting shirt. He is starting the next game. Simple. The question is, if he had been given 90mins here every two games and support and praise like Coyle gives to him, what's to say he would not have done just as well? DD should be 'benchable' like anyone else, but dropping him (in the few occasions it's happened) has not really led to an improvement in Chelski performances. Instead, he comes on and has a greater impact compared to those who have started. When has he been dropped? Can anyone please remind me? Only the Fulham game saw him coming on for the last 30. When did this happen? We will have to drop DD for at least 5 games to be able to conclude on any trend. I have 25 games of Drogba's to prove a point, why should just 1 prove otherwise? I believe that lack of creativity - either due to formation or tactics remains the biggest issue and a strong contributor to DD's reduced return this season. We played the same tactics last season in a record breaking season. He was the HGS. Yes I do believe creativity has reduce but not when you have 20 shots and no goals. That's not lack of creativity, it's profligacy. |
FBS:DD may top the assist list but goals win games. We won just two games in like the last 7 or 8 . . . Do you know why? Because DD is topping the assist list instead of scoring goals. And without those goals we can't win. And yes stats can be misleading . . . sometimes. Example. Anelka weaves past two players on the right of attack and gets to the byline. Whips a cross in and the ball aims at Drogba. Go watch that again and you will find that DD's first touch let him down. He mis-controlled the ball and already lost it. If Lamps was not there, Jag would have cleared it. But lamps scores. . And guess what? it would be recorded as an assist for Drogba which could take him up to 9 if that was a PL game. How many times do you think this has happened this season? Now that's where stats are misleading. DD in prime sharpness would hit that ball on the half-volley first time. He tries to control it and loses it. I have seen that a billion times this season. You will call that an assist. I call that luck. Arshavin gets dropped more than ever before even though he tops that list. Can you explain why? The reason he tops that list and is still dropped is the same reason DD should be dropped - A DIP IN FORM. Simple. |
@FBS. Great. This is exactly what I have been saying. Figures. That said. Not all stats are crisp clear. Walk over to the Arsenal thread and ask them if they will rather have the dude that tops that list playing instead of Nasri. Many Arsenal fans think he is lazy and unconcerned. The same can be applied to DD. Because he has 8 assists should not automatically guarantee a place for him. DD concedes possession far too much. I can argue that if he holds on to the ball and makes conscious passes, it could enable other mid-fielders to create assists. 9 goals with 12 games to go is poor form for a top striker. That's why he should be dropped. |
@Debo. No one on this Chelsea forum has extensively talked about the buying of more midfielders than me. I stated on the match day thread on how we have massively under-estimated the contributions of Ballack and Deco. I quite understand the many problems we have. That said, I have never known DD to score sitters. DD is not a fox in the box. Therefore you cannot ask for him not to be benched because he hasn't missed sitters. There are other factors apart from scoring goals I have an issue with. DD has lost his sharpness. He doesn't get into the positions he used to get into. Many times he has to pick out a simple pass to a team mate and get into position. He tries the audacious and fluffs it. A midfielder cannot help with that. He can't dribble, yet he tries to at every given opportunity. What can a midfielder do about that? DD's problem is not a midfield problem. Bolton will die if we offer them the current form of Lamps, Ramires, Essien and Mikel, yet Sturridge gets 3 goals in three games for Bolton. Yes there is the other issue of tactics but it just typifies what I am trying to get across. DD has suffered a dip in form and that space should be afforded to another player to show what they have. |
FBS:A single player cannot be the problem . . . It only exist in your defense because you are in love with Drogba. I have not said so. If you care to read, I have stated numerous times today. E.g. nateevs:What else do you want? Do you care to tell us when DD was dropped this season apart form the game against Fulham? Every other game he didn't play or start in was because of injury or malaria. Tell us why DD should not be benched? |
FBS:Busy creating chances for others. I see. What do you think Malouda, Kalou, Anelka and Lamps are doing then? That's why Drogba should play? Crap. His job is to score goals. You will not give the same excuses to Cech for conceding goals consistently. So why make excuses for Drogba. That is not a valid excuse. One player that tracks back and helps ? Every player except DD. Do you even know how ground the mid-fielders cover. You will read Ibime's post periodically talking about Lamps efficiency dipping because he is tracking back to cover with the full backs. The RCM and LCM run forward and run back to cover. The full backs run the entire pitch to cross a ball and run back to cover defensively. So do the RF and LF who double up on the oppo's advancing players. Which leaves us with only DD - who doesn't track back. Only when there is a corner kick or free kick. You are overstating his contribution. And no he does not give th ball away "sometimes" . . . Anyone who has watched football for a decent amount of time knows no one in a Chelsea shirt has given the ball away more than DD. Stop this worship! So what is the main reason he should not be benched? |
FBS:Lamest argument ever. So according to you, because he is a proven striker. . . .He cannot be absent from a run of games. Crap. Keep dodging the real issue. Tell me why DD should not be dropped. |
FBS:DD should be dropped because he has failed to hit form when we need it the most. The team relies on him to get goals and get goals he hasn't. Therefore play someone else. Now you tell me why he should not be dropped. |
FBS:Two games - zero contribution. He needs 15 more. He is a proven striker like DD - and if that's the only reason DD is still playing, then Torres deserves a chance too. 15 games more and we can begin to comment on Torres' contribution. Not after two games. That's just lazy. Bench DD and play fuc.kever. as long as that person can pass a freaking ball. After all he's been playing and it looks like he's not there. So what's your point? |
Akolawole:Bullshit! I told Carllotti had selection problems. . . . with an "s" . . .geddit? How then can I make an inference that DD is "the only" problem when I clearly said "problems". . . . You are the one who should read. The problem is not only DD. Clearly not. The only reason why this has gone on for long is because you guys keep giving silly reasons why he should not be dropped. Just accept, DD should be dropped . . . then we move on to the next one of the many "problems" we have. |
FBS:50m striker comes in and scores a handful of goals in over 30 games. . . I will be the first to ask him to sit on the bench dude. Just like I am asking DD to. Yeah. . . We all know. You jump on Torres' back who has played only two games just so you can avoid the facts. Tell me why we must persist with DD. What facts have you given? I have given you figures. . Give me one good reason why he must play the next game. |
FBS:Very well written points. The reason DD should not be dropped is because we have never won when he is dropped. No facts. No figures. Nothing. Just "How can you drop DD?" So why don't you educate us about JT's poor form? |
FBS:Oga. You don't address me in that manner. If I don't agree with your point, tell me why I should. You never come out with facts. . . You only say everyone is pathetic. Give me 2 good reasons. . . Just 2 good reasons why we should persist with Drogba. Tell me. |
Akolawole:You guys jump on the defense of DD so much that you always fail to read what others are saying. As long as you see DD and drop in the same sentence, it's time to bring out the canons. Did you see anywhere in post referring to DD as the main reason for our bad season? No! So why are you saying that? I said Carllotti is guilty for selection problems. The only player who has not been dropped this season due to bad form is Drogba. Every other player that has experienced a slight dip in form has been yanked off. The major culprits being Mikel, Kalou, Malouda and Bosingwa. DD. . No way! Keep playing him. One day he will score. 15 matches and he still hasn't scored. Keep playing him. He is blocking the chance for others to show what they are made of. We loan out a young player who goes to another club and gets three goals in three games yet we are persisting with DD. When do you say goodbye? You can see clearly that Carllotti has to walk. . . I can see clearly that DD has to sit on that bench. |
