dayokanu:Heaven knows it came from your mouth . . or your keyboard. Me I was talking about something entirely different. . . ![]() |
Obo Boco:Have you got an up to date CV. .? You enhance your chances of securing a spot with detailed outline of your experience(s). ![]() I am also trying really hard not to pronounce your name in the way it keeps replaying in my head. |
Hey Peoples . . What's up? Don't know how to react to these . . . I hear Torres has agreed to join Chelsea for 63m Euros and . . . . wait for this, Drogba is in talks with City. . . Tell me guys that I haven't woken up. |
Also nice to see a flurry of kids for the very first time. There must have been up 16 of them that played. Those that are ready by my own assessment (not from the match ofcourse) are:- Gael Kakuta Josh McEachran Jefferey Bruma Nemanja Matic Van Annholt. It's so unfortunate DiSanto went on loan to a club that plays negative football. I still have big hopes for him. |
Good work for the boys. Great to see Mikel and Essien back. |
That's a 15 year old boy from the academy. Ghokan Tore is on as well. |
I can't seem to place the dude who came in and has gone to right back. Cos Bruma has replaced Alex in CB position. |
FBS:Bros my side dey oooo. Glad this season is back. Can't believe Mikel is the oldest player on the pitch. |
FBS wetin dey? |
DiSanto, Essien, Josh, Alex off. . . Sinclair, Lalkovic, Conor Clifford. on. |
Essien goal. . . |
Josh is running things. . . At 17, he is very impressive. DiSanto is very decent. |
tkb417:Ask Dr Kit? Abi you no follow the history of posts? |
Dr Kitaun:What has that got to do being quality? Heaven's sake Dirk Kuyt has won a WC medal. . . Would you prefer him to RVP? |
Sharap jo. Where were your Nazis at the CL final. They were walked over. You have five mins of fame in the world and we no go rest. (Though I will take Ozil in a flash) Chelsea have a young player in the mould of Mesut Ozil. . . Josh McEachran. Watch out for him. |
Here we go again. City are considering a £20m bid for Drogba? |
ritchboy:And in the world will "deceptively clueless" mean? |
Chelsea sign 17 yr-old Czech defender Thomas Kalas but will spend one year on loan in his hometown. |
Some wait for "dreams" to become reality. Others seize the moment, believe and position themselves for great things to come. Yet we wonder always why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. |
ritchboy:What is your point? |
dayokanu:By referring to the Joe Cole issue, I assume you are not talking to me. I have told time and again, you will never see me rate Joey above anyone. . . I repeat if you don't understand again, that at the time Schweini was linked to Chelsea, he was not a 25m player. Simple. Rant for all you like. You can't prove otherwise. I admitted that based on his form now, I will take him. I don't have a problem admitting situations have changed. I will if I have to. As at Dec 2009, Schweini was not a 25m player. If you don't like that. . . Jump off. |
dayokanu:I repeat dude. . At the time I made the comment, Schweini was not a 25m player. You can hype his abilities with hindsight as at Dec 2009. He on;y just made the switch to midfield. If he spent the other half of the season as a sub because Bayern bought Sneijder, you won't be here telling me how fantastic he was in Dec. Players become better for all sorts of reasons including position switch, different system, manager etc. While I have been nursing the idea of Sneijder, Diego and VDV playing for Chelsea for years, at this time last year Sneijder was offloaded to Inter for 13m. Even though I knew over years his abilites to be a top class CM, I will never claim he was a 30m player at that time. . . Diego could switch sides and play in a system that makes him a top class CM which I still believe he is, Can I then turn around and say he has been a 30m player all the while. .? That man friend is what you are doing now. Abeg think less German and more common sense. ![]() |
dayokanu:Who will argue with you? You think Schweni is better than Iniesta and Xavi. Why should I waste time with you? |
You are a goat. . The key phrase there is "Based on the form he has now" And when I made that comment, Jeez Schweini was not a 25m player. You said it yourself it was his first season in midfield. At the time I made the comment, it wasn't even mid season. |
Well except you posted the same thing and you have the audacity to say they are six months apart. Do you have apollo? |
What are you doing ? Have you re-read your post? |
blueflame1:After you called him unreasonable as well? |
Private companies put money into the sponsorship of the National teams regardless of success. Private companies are only concerned about image and the number of times their brand is mentioned per hour in the months leading up to a major tournament. They are far less concerned about success. They put money in World Cup 2002/Nations Cup, 2004 ACN, 2006 ACN, 2008 ACN, 2010 ACN/World Cup; do you think it's because we think we are going to win it. With the shambolic way we qualified for the world cup, you would except no private company will put money into football, but because they know everyone is glued to their radios or TV in hope that we "may" do well this time around, their brand name is aired. If this decadence continues, private companies will still put money into football. This is advertising bro, not support. In 2012, there will be even more companies willing to sponsor. So do away with all that talk of "they won't put money in football because they know Lulu is corrupt". Are you telling me they don't know this. . . and that is why they still pump money into football.? When Glo sponsored the NPL, are you telling it was because they knew the money will be allocated in fairness? You think they don't know that the money is being embezzled. .? Why are you making it sound like football is a capital venture to the private sector, it advertising man. . . not support. And as long as the tune will not change, Lulu and co. will continue to feast. No matter how you look at it, it won't change. . . All the english you are speaking has been suggested for years, yet nothing has happened. Stop referring to civilized countries. I live in England bro and I see how football is run. Nigeria is not a civilized country. Many things that work in England will never work in Nigeria. The approach has to be different. You cannot implement things that happen in the UK in Nigeria. It's a different terrain and you have to speak the language that people understand to get things done. It's time for a radical change. Something we never done before. |
First of all I never mentioned to you that FIFA calls investigating the NFF interference. . So sorry I don't have a link for you. . Secondly, lemme a paint a more likely scenario of what will happen when govt removes funding. Lulu and co will sure have to go out and find funding. They probably will not find as much as desired. They will probably request private funding for wages of the National team coaches, they will lobby with local and international coaches to release inflated figures of their wages to the press in return for the job. Top class coaches like Hiddink et al will not agree. Non entities like Berti Vogts will jump at it. Siasia, Okocha, Oliseh, Kanu and others who have earned money for a lifetime in football will never accept that. Therefore people who know and care about football will continually be pushed away unless they bend. That means Nigerian football will never be run by pros. . . only idiots. They will lobby for money with over age players that play in fringe footballing countries in return for places in under age teams. They will push out real under age players and continue the long term destruction of our football. These are a few of the many ways these guys will ensure the flow continues. This is the real corruption. The govt doesn't care anymore because they don't fund football. The NFF will not investigate itself. The same guys will continue to run things and replace themselves with their own. Now who suffers? - You and I . . . Heartbreaks year after year. Disappointments, tournament after tournament. Do you really think this is the way to go? You either have not thought this through or you don't have a clue about how things work in Nigeria. Any other solutions? |
Finally some argument on this thread. . I was wondering when y'all will arrive from the world cup holiday. Roll it. . |
You are an absolute joker. . You talk a lot and mean even less. . You have not provided a single way to achieve what you are saying yet you are saying others can't reason. Why don't you explain why the Guinean minister of sports dissolved its football team and its football federation without it being ruled an interference by FIFA. Up till this day, FIFA has not sanctioned the Guinea Football Federation because their president went about it the smart way, using the minister of sports to act. If the Guinean president had done it himself, FIFA would have ruled it an interference. The link is below:FIFA has not complained; not because of the president involvement or lack of, but because it's the team that was dissolved, not the federation. A clear and massive difference from what is happening now. You are trying to force us to believe what's not in the article. . . Where in the article did you read about dissolving the Federation? How can you prove that if Govt doesn't fund NFF, it will fund itself? And how do you know Lulu will resign if the private sector does not give the NFF money? When the private sector does not give the NFF money anymore and the govt has withdrawn funding, how do we support the SE, Falcons, U17, U21 and U23? How do we pay for national coaches? How do we fund participation in competitions? How do we pay salaries of staff in the NFF? Is this not a total collapse of the system? Something you are trying to tell us we can't see? Or you prefer it to happen in four years time, rather than now? Like I said, you have no clue what you are talking about. You fellas are arm-chair analysts who think they live in an ideal world and have no idea about how the world works. You still haven't said how we should go about this? Come up with an idea. . . Is it so difficult? |
And this is your defense for standing on the other side. Lemme bring things to your attention you have failed to see in the article. blueflame1:Dude if you read very well, you'd have seen the article was not supposed to defend you. It brings out real pressing issues that tell you, "continue with things are now and face total destruction". There are has never been a time there was never government interference in football. According to the article, we deduce that even FIFA know that the most prolific era of our football was spearheaded by government interference. Why would FIFA close it's eyes now and act like they don't know? Left to you guys, we would never have seen the glory days of Westerhoff if government took its hands off our football. This is a major disaster with humans who have turned themselves into demi gods at the helm of affairs. The only thing we have not tried is radical and total cleansing. . . It may not work and could cost us dearly but I don't belong to the group of people who are scared to take action just because they wouldn't see their beloved SE on tv anymore. However if it works, it will go down in history as the single most effective principle ever enforced in world football. We could go from here to being No 1 in world football. . . .and have the best local league in the whole of Africa. A legacy that may live on. . . . Ninnies are scared. I have seen something over and over again. . . . Maintaining the status quo can only lead to one place. . . . Destruction. . . Absolute and Total destruction of football. . . |
