blueflame1:Don't be ridiculous dude. Please open your eyes. The government will not go around banning major establishments because there are no international consequences of trying to restructure them. . . . Is this not easy to see? To which international regulatory bodies do Universities, PHCN, NITEL, HOAs belong? To try to draw some sort of parallel reasoning between both issues is silly to say the least. To attempt to restructure NFF is to invite the wrath of FIFA. All but because the officials play the "if you touch us, we will report to FIFA" card. And since the major restructuring we need in our football will be dubbed as interference and consequently lead to a ban, we announce the ban ourselves. What is so phu.cking difficult to decipher? Don't compare this to flying to the moon, they are not similar for goodness sake. And you are still perambulating. You think we are idiots for supporting the idea. What do you think should be done? Give us a fool proof solution that will work in Nigeria. . . . This must be the 5th time I am asking you. Answer. |
I know this will rain down abuses from Dayo but christ, I have to admit Schweini is off the hinges man. What a tournament he is having. I must confess now that based on the form he has now, I don't mind having him. Ozil and Schweini. . Come on Roman! |
Garbage. . . Extreme Garbage. Prince and Blueflame, not only you two live in western countries. Don't force bullsh.it down our throats. Slow down on the civilization thing. In these civilized countries, their FAs are self funding. In these civilized countries, you don't have ministries of sports whose sole responsibility is to fund sports. In these civilized countries, FA members don't rig elections. In these civilized countries, FA members don't embezzle money. In these civilized countries, there a structure in the FA that checks itself. In these civilized countries, FA members stand down when a scandal erupts In these civilized countries, FA members try to improve football In these civilized countries, FA members don't have to be told what to do, they just do the right thing. Do you see our FA doing all the above? Why then are you asking to emulate what happens in the civilized countries? We are not a civilized country geddit? We admire what goes down there but we have a long way to go to get there. No country has achieved correctness without some form of radical changes at some point. When we get to the corridors of civilization, we will embrace it. For now Nigeria's is a peculiar case. The solution has to be Nigerian. And you still haven't told us how you think the government should go about it. I flawed your arguments. What can u come up with? |
According to Prince, President carries out NFF probe = Government interference. Ministry carries out probe = non government interference. Therefore President = Government. . . . Ministry of Sport = ?Absolute load of horseshit! |
blueflame1:You still have not offered anything constructive. You are obviously an arm-chair analyst. Will you find "How to restructure a football association IN NIGERIA" on google? You have no clue and have no answers. Please tell us how you think this can be achieved without banning football. Just one idea. |
blueflame1:Emotions running high prevents you lot from seeing the obvious. The aim is not to ban the national team. The aim is to restructure NFF. . . but you can't touch NFF because of the fear of FIFA's wrath. We will get banned. Why don't we just announce it ourselves and then go ahead and restructure? Your stance is taking the defensive. I have suggested why JG should interfere. I dare you to provide a fool proof solution to these problem bearing in mind the obstacles invloved. You can't come up with any. |
First of all, Jonathan should not have directly involved himself with sports, anyway. He should be focusing on solving our electricity and infrastructure problems Many presidents have directly involved themselves with sports. It is an issue of national pride. While you may argue that there are more pressing issues, you can't say he is wrong to directly involve himself. Sport is not just a way of entertainment, it is a channel for solving problems of unemployment. Try imagine how many people not directly playing on the pitch could probably be employed if we get it right. Doctors, Physicians, Physiotherapists, Designers, Business men, Administrators, Football agents, Builders, Physical trainers, TV-presenters, Cameramen, Sports Journalists. . . . Need I go on. . . ? Do you still think Jonathan should not be directly involved? 1) Jonathanshould have asked the ministry of sports to set up a committee to investigate the alleged corruption, citing the exact amounts stolen by NFF officials. The committee also should table how the upcoming election will be transparent and how other candidates can run. Good idea. What then happens when the proposals are rejected by NFF officials and the status quo is maintained? Solution. 2) The ministry of sports should table the result of that investigation to FIFA Great. What action in your opinion do you think FIFA will then take? 3) If there is evidence of alleged corruption, due process should follow. What is due process? How about the structure of NFF? Who changes that? 4) The ministry of sports should make sure the next election NFF election should be transparent. The MOS cannot do that. . . . according to FIFA, it's called interference. Can you see none of your solutions has worked? At least for me. . . How about the dogged fellas in the glass house determined not to relinquish power? More solutions please. |
No one on the other side really has explained how we could achieve the cleansing of NFF without a radical change. Instead they've all asked how banning ourselves will lead to improvement. Maintaining the status quo is destructive. Confirmed. I'm all up for the ban. |
blueflame1:At least it's clear since '94 what has happened when we didn't ban. Maybe it's time for a radical change. |
Prince Maybe u want to have a discussion. This could be lengthy but we'll get somewhere. Since u think the decision is wrong, what do u propose? No long statements, let's take the issues one after another. What should GJ have done? |
Any bandwidth tests yet? |
The best decision ever taken by any government. Tkb has been ranting for 10 pages about U17 et al without providing a solution. What is the alternative? |
Hehehehe. I told dudes England won't qualify from d group stages, they said I was mad. They barely did. I said they will neva beat Germany. Neva. |
BlueDiva:Naah , . He is going to City. |
I perceive an Ivory Coast comeback. |

Here we go |
lumzi23:If I understand your question well, my answer is; there can only be competition if other companies lay their own fibre to our doorsteps as well. The other channel for competition is where companies buy bandwidth off Glo and sell to you. That however can't be as competitive as where the company owns it's own infrastructure. The companies will be selling just over the base rate that Glo offers them. . . Meaning everything (or yet most of) is still down to Glo. |
bgees:What do you mean? Do you know Del Bosque at all? |
I've enjoyed every single minute. . . First shock of the world cup. I have been wondering when the first one will come. I also like Torres's new hair. |
I guess Glo thought they were riding on to some sort of monopoly being a national carrier. It's nice to know they have some competition. I only just wish they can have some more competition for last mile bandwidth. |
lumzi23:The difference between them are:- Glo are laying fibre right down to your neighbourhood. And they have a submarine cable as well. Main one only have a submarine cable. Main one takes things seriously. Glo keeps dragging on and messing around. |
@jdoss Thanks a bunch. |
I should have written it more like Benayoun has agreed to join Chelsea. |
Chelsea sign Yossi Benayoun. |
cj2008:Only people who don't know what a team is about talk about the English. . I don't care if this is against the Aussies, this is how a team should play. |
