Yes we could have brought them in against Portsmouth.
I could however side with Carllotti as this is the business end of the season and not just that, the tightest race in a long while.
There can be no room for mistakes, neither can there be room for experimenting.

Borini and Kakuta are fine. They've played in two reserve games since the Arsenal one that plonker was talking about.
Borini was ill but came back for the match against Stoke. 3-0 win with Danny and Kakuta on the score sheet.

The problem we have now is because we have dropped an unprecedented amount of points, we've not had chances for experimenting.
With pressure on the manager and the pecking order in attack being Drog, Anelka, Kalou, Danny and Borini; in midfield Lampard, Essien, Ballack, Mikel, Belletti, Kakuta, Matic, it's not hard to see how these guys won't get a chance when then is pressure to pick up points.

The mentality has to change. We dropped points with the big boyz. If we drop points using a handful of young ones and the manager does not receive death threats, then we will see more of them. . However, if we can't stomach a loss, the manager will never use young ones. The young player won't have faith in the system as well. Up coming prospects like Stoch, DiSanto, Kakuta, Bruma, Borini will find other clubs.
