Even though it's hard not to conceed that Chelsea will undoubtedly play better if Deco was around. . at the same time it'l be cynical to think Chelsea is a one man team. . Chelsea did not play with Deco on the weekend. . What about that? And while Chelsea is missing out on Drogba, Carvalho, Deco, Anelka, Essien, Alex and Injuries to Terry, Cole and Lampard. . . you are equating that with Carrick, Hargreaves, and others . . . Why don't you try to do away with. .

and then come back to tell us what you can do without these . . only in this situation can you compare the depths in the Chelsea team to any other in the premiership. .

When it comes to constructive criticism on this thread. . I'm sure you'l find me there. I have criticised Lamps, Drogba Sheva and others in the past when their performances were below par. . At the same time I know just when it is going right. . and Lampard behind Ashley cole and Mikel is the most improved player this season. . in his role from last season . . so blind fanatism is way out of the issue. .

There's nothing bad saying we have not performed well against Wigan, Spurs and Cluj. . . but that you think it's so bad we will need a miracle to beat Villa is crazy to say the least . . search through my post to see what I have written about Villa. . . I fear them as well . . . but never will I think that "to hope for a draw is optimism"(in your own words). . There's one thing not to jump at every victory, not to dance to every music played. . there's another thing to be utterly oblivious to the strengths of your team. . .

I watched Chelsea in the pre-seasons and I saw the massive difference in the appraoch to games from last 2 seasons. . . it's not a fluke. . it just the tactics. . You see it work . . and you still don't beleive it . . you see Arsenal and ManU do it . . you think Alex and Wenger are Super humans. .

Like I told as at today . . the whole team has played the new tactics ony [size=16pt]11 times ever[/size] . . i repeat 11 times ever. . . and to be on top of the table is a remarkable achievement to say the least. . .
Secondly no 11 players have played together consistently in any two matches since the beginning of the season. . it's been injuries carvalho out, Alex in and even alex is already out with Ivanovic having to come in . . . guess what ? we still made Aston villa look cheap today. . I saw the match and there could have been 7 goals in the second half alone . . . but your statement was that "Aston were punished for not being seriuos at the bridge" rather than Chelsea were so good they made Villa look ordinary. .

I was one of those that thot the whole samba thing might fall apart when Deco get's injured. . but no Lamps and Ballack have stepped their game up and now I am thinking how better can we get when Deco comes back. . . and January is around the corner with a multi billionaire owner and a coach learning the european-player market

As at today . . Anelka, Joe Cole, Drogba, Carvalho, Alex, Deco are all injured . . Terry is playing with a stiff back and so is Ashley Cole. . Lampard has a dead leg and Ballack and Kalou just came back from injuries. . . but we still made Villa look ordinary . .

That's the strength I see in the team . . even when we scramble for pts. . even when we play crap. . the potential to do better like today and in the future is what I see . . not futile pessimism!!!

Although I do agree with a few points posted on here since the match, a lot of them are utter bollocks. . . I had the match recorded and I have watched it again and again, the only thing we did not do in the match is score.
The game play was decent, possesion was good . . I thought most players gave their best except of course Drogba, Anelka and Ballack.

Now some people on here start to condemn LPS. I really do not know what to say. Some facts should be understood by every Chelsea fan.

1. LPS' introduced a new playing style.
2. The players have only played the style about 10times. . . . . ever. . Judge the team and LPS in January.
3. LPS couldn't buy a new striker when he came in because he did know the ones he had fully.
4. Until then, he will make the best use of the ones he's got.
5. Drogba will never fit into the new system . . this is the passing game. . one touch football is of the essence . .
6. One that will fit - Anelka - is not a goal scorer like Drogba.   
7. Even with all the supposed bad matches we are still on top of the table. CL and PL
8. When we don't score we don't conceed. . . Only 3 goals conceeded so far this season in all competitions.
9. Our best CM is out injured . . . Deco.
10 . We will surely be better when he comes back.
11. No matter how the wind blows this season . . LPS won't be scaked . .
12. That said LPS will win something . . .
13. I don't know about you all . . but I know the premiership is ours.


I really do not know why we think we have to over-ride every team we play. . . This is football. Matches will be won and lost. . some will be so bad. . but bouncing back after a bad run is what is essential . . . We have not done so badly this season. . You think that's wrong?
