Hmmm , Nateevs, why did you ignore the Luis Felipe story? Click on these links below and see what I'm saying.
I did not ignore it sir. . . I googled it after your first post. . . I have been following the interviews with Big Phil since commencement of the Euros. .

Ricardo Carvalho said today when asked about the possiblity of Big Phil joining Chelsea "We are not allowed to talk about the future of Scolari" I found that strange. . .

Meanwhile in the same interview Carvalho hinted that he might be on his way to join JM at Inter. .

So what position did Thomas Hassler, Steffen Effenburg, Mehmet Scholl, Rosicky etc play? Germany has always had playmakers from time immemorial. You still have Rakitic there as well. Germany has always had playmakers.
I did not say Germany never had playmakers. My point is that VDV would have been considered very lightweight and too dribbling a player to play in the bundesliga years ago. Having said that anyway Hassler, Effenberg, Scholl even Ballack were never the brazillian-type very dribbling playmaker I am talking about. There was so much emphasis on strength. VDV would have had his leg on his head if he played then. . now he can that's the point. I made that in reference to stereotyping the prem as basically for pacy players. I asked what happened to Ballack, Mikel, Xabi Alonso, Fabregas They've all adapted.

So who is the playmaker at Arsenal? Don't gt me wrong, I am all in favour of having playmaker-type players at Chelsea. They just have to be adaptable like Fabregas, Hleb, Denilson, Rosicky etc are. I would like a playmaker at Chelsea, just not the type of playmaker you like. Those guys you are recommending are absolute lightweights.
That is an obviuos answer. . . all attack starts from Fabregas. He makes more passes than any other Arsenal player. Almost every goal they score he starts the attack.

Well, why do all th best teams employ wingers/wing-forwards? The wingers stretch the play, allowing space for the midfielders to get forward.
I am not against wing play. I am a 4-4-2 fanatic. . . and you must understand that for u to be one . . you must fancy wing play. I just do not like the idea of play making from the wings. . it is one-sided and predictible. Barca ran into trouble when they lost the penetrating attcking midfield threat of Ronaldinho. Rijkaard was playing a flat 4-3-3 with Messi and Iniesta playing at the wings of the forward line. Fergie could read that without uses his spectacles.  It was flat out predictible . . . Xavi and Deco could not provide the dynamism from the centre of midfield and that was their shut down. Manu won.  We played the same way against them and it was flat out predictaible. But with a running play-maker in the middle . . the play is dynamic and attack through the middle is enhanced.

Na lie! Lamps best defensive input comes from his pressing in the midfield. Lamps is the best attacking midfielder at defending.
Two things about Lamps. Because he operates from midfield does make him an attcking midfielder. Take goals away from Lamps and he can't even play the ordinary midfield role. I like to refer to him as second striker even though he does not play in that position. Secondly Lamps defensive?    undecided

Arshavin is a winger/forward who cuts inside but his primary position is winger, not playermaker.
Are sure of what you just said ? Arshavin? Winger? Wait Ibime I think you think too much of wing play. Ronaldinho has played on the flanks on a 4-3-3 so many times under Rijkaard does not make him a winger. He is a natural central attacking midfield player. The player in those days we used to call No10. and so is Arshavin . .  if you have seen Advocaat employ 4-3-3 in a match situation and plays Arshavin on the flanks does not mean Andrei is a winger. He is a natural No10. He can't play the first group games of the Euro 2008. When he plays in the 3rd (which will obviously be of great signifcance) you will see what he does in the Hiddink team. I followed all the Euro qualifying games for Russia because of Arshavin and Bilyaletdinov (because I heard they were coming to Chelsea) and Arshavin play in the middle as the perfect playmaker.  hiddink obviously does not play a 4-3-3  . . . You are actually the first football fan that knows Arshavin that I know calls him a winger. Arshavin?

He can NEVER play in the middle of a 4-4-2.
Wrong.

I don't think injury had much to do with his transfer to Hamburg. He was desperate to leave Ajax because he had lost motivation. He did have some injuries especially in his early years, but nothing like what you are making out. Definitely not even close to Robben and Van Persie level.
More effective than each one of them. If Robben was a good passer of the ball and unselfish he would be perhaps the best footballer in the world but . . . . he runs a lot but creates a handful of goals only. Van Persie? He will be injured before the quarter finals of the Euro cup. Waste of space and money. . where's a player when you need one. VDV is class and that is why he will get a first team shirt in holland while RVP and Robben watch from the bench.

Don't get me wrong. He is a brilliant player. I just question whether he will work in the Premiership. Also, I remember his numerous poor performances at Ajax so I am more skeptical than you are.
I remebered Drogba's numerous poor performances in Marseille and I was sceptical. I was wrong.

He scores more than strikers? What is his record. I would imagine he scores on average 18 goals a season - of which 8 are penalties and 5 are freekicks. Is that really worth it - to build a whole team around him?
Scores more than strikers i was referring to Ronaldo. . wake up !!!!!

Last question. . . accepting the fact that Chelsea will be changing the playing style next season . . . who will you like to see in midfield? If it's true that we will appoint Scolari or Hiddink bearing in mind that none will fancy Lamps or Ballack.

Drogba has two more years, three max. Henry was sold for £16m so £18m is a fair price for Drogba. He relies on his physical attributes so his performance will decrease with age. Most strikers in World football these days are already worthless by 32, 33. He also has no re-sale value so his transfer value is detiriorating at £6m per year. It is a fair price.
I quite agree that he is getting old but the comparism with Henry is not fair. Henry did not play a major part Arsenal's season before he got transferred. Drog is worth more than £18m . .

I like playmakers - just not in the Premiership. The only one I can see succeeding is Kaka because he has pace to keep up with counterattacks and is genuinely a second striker if need be.

I prefer my creativity to come from the wing like Ribery, Messi, Ronaldo etc
I think it's a bit too late in this century to stereotype the premiership. THe only reason play-maker type footballers have not flooded the prem is the calibre of coaches employed in it. When Managers like Hiddink, Scolari, zico and the likes start to invade th premiership it will all change. Diego and Vandervaart like players will never fit in the bundesliga years ago but now it's changed. Don't get me wrong. I am not insinuating that he prem has not got it's standards and unique features, what I am saying is the premiership is changing and if we employ such tactics in the prem it will work. Arsenal's type of footie was a taboo in the prem years ago but now it works.

The problem with playmaking from the wings is it's ease of readibility and predicability. You can almost tell what a Robinho, Messi and Ribery can do. Playmaking form central attack give options - it opens up the wings and having those type players on the wings like you mentioned will rain goals. . If you have a striker that reads passes well like David Villa or RVN . . better option.

Playmaking through the wings is a one-way type of football. What JM used for a better part of his stay at Chelsea. You need special type of strikers for that formation. Drogba-like strikers. because play most often don't come from the middle, it makes it boring.

Your definition of playmaker is people who cannot defend. There are people who have skills to play-make but can also defend and they are all currently occupied as central midfielders. People like Fabregas, Iniesta, Sneijder etc. This is the type of player I prefer.
Whether a player defends or not. . it's the type of tactic employed by the manager. To be fair Lapms defensive input is poor. If we have a player that makes 50 decent through passes in one game and we have quick poachers and dazzling wingers, I don't mind him not defending. I just want a player that was made to pass the ball. Andrei Arshavin is one of them.

Maybe you just started watching Van Der Vaart in Germany but I am an Ajax fan and I've been watching him since about 2000. His last three years at Ajax stank and that is why no big club came in for him. In the end, he lost motivation and settled for Hamburg. He is too slow for a playmaker. You cannot compare him to Lampard and Ballack because they are conventional midfielders who have defensive input. Van Der Vaart has none. His position is undefined. He is neither striker nor midfielder and I do not know any team in England that employs any player in that position. He is not quick enough to keep up with counterattacks. If I lie, go and watch Van Bronckhorst counter-attack for Hollands second goal and tell me if Van Der Vaart was quick enough to keep up or not.
I watch the bundesliga because of VDV, Gomes, Ribery and Diego. VDV's versatility is what does not make him pinned to a particular position. He can play in the middle of a 4-4-2, on the left of a 4-3-3 as well as on the right of a 4-3-3. In the midlle of a 4-3-2-1 as well as on the right and left of it because I have watched him so many times. I have seen several players become big stars at a later age, so his time at Ajax does not mata anymore. Drogba, Lampard are examples. He's 25 and I think he can improve. The reason many big clubs are not after him is because he is injury prone. . but Real still paid £24m for Robben.

Come to think of it what do you call Joe Cole, Kalou? Winger? Striker? none of those. What do u call Ronaldo? Winger? This guy probably crosses the ball twice in 3 matches. Striker? Obviously not. yet he scores more than every striker in the world. So some players are like that. They are called free-role players.

The truth is that Milan are the only bidders for Drogba and I think £18m is a fair price for him considering his age. I agree Uchenna that his best days may be behind him. The only question is why did we turn down their bid for Sheva. Even £1m is a fair price for him considering he is a liability and his wages are draining us to the tune of £6m a year. Maybe he is Romans spy in the dressing room?

@ Nateevs - I do not believe all these transfer rumours coming out of the bridge. £15m for Deco? Yeah right! Who is willing to pay more than £9m for Deco considering the season he just had and his age. If Chelsea are really serious about this Deco thing, they should consider the statements Jose made in 2005. He said that he is glad that he didn't sign Deco because he doesn't think Deco could adapt to Premier League.

BTW, do you know we were linked with Pirlo a couple of days ago. Absolutely laughable. Transfer rumours gone haywire. Either that or Roman is a big big fool. Who thinks that Pirlo is adaptable to Premier League? He is the only defensive midfielder who needs protection in front of him. They call him a deep lying playmaker. Haha.

Van der Vaart is overpriced and too slow for Premierleague. Moutinho is already worth £20m and does not make sense for a prospect to be worth that much already. He is definitely too weak for Chelsea.

Can't wait for the new manager so all these silly transfer rumours (or Romans tinkering) are put to bed. Right now, I would take any manager just so that Roman doesn't go crazy buying absolute thrash.
No mata what Drog's age is. . I still think he should not go for £18m . . He scored 90% of Chelsea's goals over two seasons. If he was french, he will be their No1 striker. . . . .

I heard the Pirlo thing. . . I thot of it as someone had to have a story or be fired.

I don't know if Barca has been offered £15m for Deco but the desire for Deco is not a rumour. . . Even Deco himself said he has a choice to make between Chelsea and Inter.

Vander Vaart is too slow for the Prem? Are you sure you watch him? How do Mikel, Makalele and Ballack cope? Vander Vaart is quicker than Lampard and Ballack put together. . . His asking price is £18m . . aw is that over priced?. . Did you see the Holland - Italy game yesterday? For those that had a one-game opportunity, that is how Rafael is season long; so he is no fluke.

Wait Ibime, we have to get at least two playmakers this summer, one senior, one substitute. If not, we have messed up the summer and we will never attain the type of football we all crave for. Now in your opinion, who would you choose? These are your assertions:

Muotinho is too small
Deco is old
Van dervaart is overpriced and too slow. .
Diego is expensive
Ronaldinho is used up. .
Kaka is too expensive

Come to think of it how many playmakers do we have in the world right now. . these ones are about the best around and if we don't have any of them who would you have?

True talk except that it is ridiculous to just offer him to the next available bidder. . Some others will come with better offers. . I didn't expect him to go for less than £25m cash down. . . This is Drogba for heaven's sake. Madrid paid £24m for Robben. .

CHELSEA have agreed to sell Didier Drogba to AC Milan for £18m.

A deal was settled between the clubs for the Ivory Coast hitman over the weekend. Chelsea will be given £10m up front and will then get the rest in add-ons

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/40265/Rom-flogs-Drog-for-18m/

This is the most stupid transfer of all time. . . £10m for Drogba? and then £8m over three years. . for arguably the best Striker in the world? I am amazed. . except there is some hidden condition in the transfer (maybe some Kaka thing or Ancelotti thing).

My posts were not to canvass any support for Deco or Eto'o. . . I am not a fan of old players. . just catching up with transfer updates. . and to see if there is still some sanity in the upper echelon of the Club. . .

I am always a fan of youth and pace. . and if you watched holland today you will see why I have always talked about Rafael Van der Vaart. . . I know he is prone to injury but this guy is class. . .

I still like Muotinho anyways. . . I think he can be a buy to nuture. . remember for everytime we but established. . we should remember buying to nuture. . . Ronaldo was very fragile when he came to the premiership. . . look at him now.

Gomis made his Euro debut today. . . Gomez is very much appreciated. . . Mario, Jose will keep him. He will not leave. Mr Lampard is trying to force himself to go.

Chelsea were last week linked with portuguese midfielder Joao Muotinho, wait a minute. . this is all pointing somewhere. . .
I am beginning to see more than just a conincidence, Paulo Ferriera extended his contract by four years even though he knows he might not play. . . then Chelsea sign Bosingwa, portuguese. What is wrong with this place where has everyone gone ?

@Ibime. . .

You are still getting the point wrong. . . I am not discussing with you about who made who what. . . what I am saying is you said Sparky clinched 6th place with a £16m squad and I am saying that is not true. . .

The value of transfer might have been that . . . it is not that now. . .
When you say he achieved what he did with the cheapest squad in the premiership, what you are saying is whether now or later the sqaud will never be more expensive than £16m which clearly is falacy. . Selling Cruz, Bentley, Friedel and Mcarthy alone now will fetch you close to £50m. Value every other player at an average of £3m each and you have a squad almost over £100m.

That is more constructive and believable than telling us he reached 6th position on a £16m sqaud. It does not matter if he made them that or not. . It's the quality in every player that matters. . . Like I told you . . he's not got crap players. . he got good players cheap. He got some players free. . but that says nothing. . as long as the quality is inherent.

Chelsea got Ballack on a free. . . does that take out the true value of Ballack? No it doesn't. If we managed to get 12 players the quality of Ballack on free. . . will you say the Chelsea squad has no Value. . .

Lastly, a manager is always viewed by the number of trophies won, however unfair, it is the truth. So if Cardiff won the FACup that night, the manager's name will go down in history as one of those that have won trophies. . . irrespective of league performances. So until sparky wins a trophy, it doesn't mata how highly placed his team is in the premiership, he will still be regarded as a manager without trophies. At least get to the finals.

You talk about lucky draws, did barnsley get lucky draws? They edged Liverpool and Chelsea out in consecutive FACup matches. . . If they went on to win, you still would have called it a lucky draw umh?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by nateevs(m): 1:27am On Jun 07, 2008
@Ibime,

I think you are missing the point with . . . you are making comparism with two different types of player values. Let me tell you where you are making a mistake. You are making it sound like value of the team is so crap, the players are not even worth of a division two appearance. .

There are two ways to value a player. . the amount at which he was brought to the club (purchase value)
the amount he will be sold at this minute. .(present value)

Benni Mcarthy signed a three-year contract with porto in 2003. . he was transferred to blackburn with one year left on his contract. . obviously made him cheaper - £2.5m . . . Chelsea were about making a £13m bid for him . . now that's his present value. .

Santa Cruz £3.5m to Blackburn was with Munich for 8 years . . which tells me he might have been a the end of a second 4 year contract . . which obviously made him cheaper as well. . . now how much will you buy him if you want him . . £3.5m? Absolutely not!!!!

David Bentley is a player of class, he is that good he is thought of as the next David Beckham, the only player in history to score 3 goals in one match against ManUnited. . .

Tell me he managed to get good players cheap. . then that's a different thing. . not emphasizing that he achieved a lot with a cheap squad.

Frank lampard should normally cost a lot to get from us . . but now any team that wants him can pay as little as £7m because he can buy out his contract. .

Now my point is Hughes had players that could break into the first team of many premiership teams. .especially in Moyes' and Redknapp's teams . . which means he had a very decent squad. . not that he had the lowest budget in the premiership. . . making it seems he had worse players than Derby. . Brad Friedel is one of the best GKs in the premiership for the love of mike. .

Hughes could have had a cheaper squad to Moyes's and Redknapp's in terms of transfer value of players, he did not have an inferior squad in terms of quality. . Friedel, Bentley, Cruz, Mcarthy are all decent players.
Hughes is a decent coach. . . agreed!!! Is he what you think he is? we'll know at ManCity. . .

Small budget? Ask Cardiff City what is means to have a small budget. . . they got to the FAcup finals. . .

First Ancelotti, now Spalletti and Prandelli.

Whats up with Chelsea and these managers who can't speak English?

The Chelsea board wanted Hughes but Abramovic wants a puppet he can control. We need a manager quick to set-up our pre-season preparation plan and transfer targets. Roman is really pissing me off. How long must this nonsense continue? Complete and utter lack of planning. This club is going down the drain. I can't believe Roman was ready to give Ancelotti £7m a year. The fool called Ancelotti to give him advice on who should be the new manager and ended up being so 'impressed' with Ancelotti, he decided to pursue him.  The same way Avram Grant 'impressed' him when they met in a restaurant in Tel-Aviv. I am sure I can also 'impress' him - because he has absolutely no knowledge of football. Somebody in Primary 5 can 'impress' another kid in Primary 1. It doesn't make him an authority on the subject. Roman is an idiot.
Yes, and Roman contacted McFadden, had dinner with Brad Pitt, Andy Gray and Paul Scholes . . . Hallie Berry is on the Chelsea short list . . . met with Bruce Willis in Germany, asked Mugabe if he could manage Chelsea in a five star hotel in Warri, as if that is not enough he is considering himself for the position!!!!
Bloody hell what the hell is wrong with all you guys!!!!. . . what exactly about all these stories is so convincing. . ?

Ibime I think you reacting. . . a clear consequence of waiting for the manager to be appointment. All this gist about Roman meeting heaven and the rest were all presented by the same media that said we were linked with Hughes.

Did you listen to SSN yesterday? They made a complete fool of themselves. They reported saying they can reveal that Ancelotti's "ADVISORS" have agreed terms with Chelsea . . . . Ancelotti denies it and Milan as well . . . Now SSN is saying "SKY SPORTS WERE TOLD" that his ADVISORS had agreed a deal with Chelsea. . .
Every other paper and TV station is quoting SSN. . How did they come about the £7m a year? How do they know he called Ancelotti for advice? Who told who?
This time, I have seen the British media at it's worst . . reported utter rubbish all in the name of having stories.

Now you call Roman a fool? This guy is the reason we can hope for Managers like Hiddink, Scolari et al. . . None of us has ever owned £500m let alone billions. . . I am telling you if you pump £500m into an investment, you think being a nigerian that you are, you will close your eyes and say let the best man take care of the job. . ? No way, you sef go wan talk one thing. . . If I pumped only £100m into something I do not have a clue about . . I will still talk. Come and blow any grammar you like. . at the end of the day it's my money. . . Let alone £500m.
I am not saying he is doing right and I do not endorse his ways but to say Chelsea is going down the drain because we have not appointed a manager is a knee-jerk reaction.

If we employed someone the day after Grant was sacked and he failed . . we will all ask why they had no patience. . .

Chill out man. . . I can't wait as well. .but we have to cross our fingers. . wait still . . and hope the best happens. .

Meanwhile Chelsea just released a statement saying they have not agreed anything with anyone, body or organization. . . we are happy at the way our search is progressing? So where does that leave us? I just wish it is not him. . .

My choice is Hiddink. . simple!!!

@Ibime,

First don't say Jose is not a tactical genius. . .
Now to Ancelotti. . . I cannot tell you Ancelotti is the best Manager around but certainly he is one of the best. It's easy for you to compare hughesy to carlo. . but Mark has not spent 7 years in the english league. . .

Arsene Wenger has not been consistent with Arsenal, he lost 5-0 to spurs, a club reviving from shambles, lost 4-0 to his rivals ManU, threw away the league after leading with 9pts at some point with a game in hand. . . drew incredible amount of games. . .came fourth two seasons ago and barely qualified for CL. . . .  not smelt a single trophy in 3years. . not even likely to win one next season, (with hughes at ManCity now, Liverpool and revitalized Spurs and motivated Pompey). . . he lost players like Henry and Viera and replaced them with Bendtner and Flamini always building for the long term and nothing to show for it. . .

Ok given that. . . tell me Arsene Wenger is not a great Manager. . .

It's easy to line up the short comings of a manager but you still can't write Wenger and Hughes on the same page. .

What is the diiference between the finances of Blackburn and Bolton. . . ? Let's do a research . . until then, it is speculation. . .
Now what is to say that Hughesy will not end up like Sam at Newcastle and Moyes at everton. . . "almost won it"

@Ibime,

What I am saying is REALITY CHECK!!!. . . One hardly employs a Manager thinking he can do it. . . Hughes could have walked into chelsea pre-abramovic (always nervous when I spell that name). . . Chelsea is bigger than Hughes. . i am not saying he is crap. . I am saying his chances of success are imaginative and speculative rather than readily-realistic. .

Chelsea has reached that mark in football where we employ proven managers. . . we'v long passed the stage of building a team. . the sentiments of Hughes is because he played with us. . . . hughes has not done a better job than Moyes and neither has his achievements surpassed Alardyce's . . . Alardyce used finished products like Okocha, Diouf, Djorkaeff and Campo and still qualified for the UEFA Cup. . . I never heard of any indiscpline in the camp of bolton during Sam's era. . He did doubles over Arsenal and punished Manu several times. . . what makes him good enough to manage chelsea. . ?

I am not saying Ancelotti is the best choice. . . but with due respect aw can you write sparky's name is the league of Ancelotti?

Ancelotti belongs to the league of great managers. . Hughes might be a bright man. . . a great manager. .? he has a ferking long way to go!!!

How can Hughes be linked and even imagined to take the chelsea job. That is taking insults too far. we go to the market with our pockets filled and this is what we buy - Hughes??
We aint that insane I am sure!!!
God bless you bros. .

Jose saying on SSN now that he has not ruled out buying Chelsea players. . he said he needs 3 players. .
Me thinks Lamps and Drogba are two of them . .

Before those 2 incidents, it was rummy and a dice game . . . . .no one knew when the SIX will show.
As it is now, Chelsea would tie up their manager within 24-48 hrs. Trust me!!!!!
17 days is red herring . . . .It coulda been more if Mourinho n Eriksson's incident didn't happen.
Jose revealed today that he was approached by Inter after our knockout of the CL by Liverpool. . . Just as I was talking it looks like it's going to be Ancelotti after-all. .

I read your posts about Carlo or Hughes. The coloured part is of contention. . . How did you come about that name. . ? The press!! How did the press come about it? Guess work!!!!

Are you saying Chelsea wanted Hughes and let City snatch him? 17 days after Grant got sacked. . ?

Now what happens if we do not announce the manager in the next 48hrs? What happens if it turns out not to be Ancelotti. . . ?

Stop this macho schitzo with Razorr.
Razorr is not a fighter . . . . . .She is just pissed at the latest developments at Chelsea.
All of a sudden, the bricks are falling off the Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile . . . . .It seems Ancellotti will be Chelsea's manager.
His advisers are talking to Chelsea as we speak and if terms are agreed . . . He will be unveiled in 24.
Man City have also agreed compensation fee with Blackburn FC but Hughes is yet to say anything.

All i know is the Chelsea job is between Hughes and Carlo. . . . . .It's so close now.
Na you dey comot the bricks at the Bridge?
Now you see what I mean. . . City agrees compensation with blackburn . . . What is to say Chelsea had Hughes on some strange SHORT-LIST. . ? nothing!!!! absolutely nothing. . !
It's all bollocks as far as I am concerned. . .

Very soon you'l hear Milan say Ancelotti is going nowhere. . . and then you all will come back to believe what I said since Grant was fired. . the Manager has already been chosen. . .

Now SSN is saying Ancelotti is the no1 on the list. . . i think this short-list is a thermometric one that works with the weather. . . it flips the names up and down according to the temperature of the day  grin grin

On what grounds do you think sparky is a better coach than Grant? and even Grant was a stop gap in chelsea's rebuilding process. . @Razor

where have you beennn oooooo!!!!

@Jackal

What are you talking about ? Hughesy was put on this suppossed "SHORT-LIST". . . the day after Grant was sacked. . 17 days later he's in ManCity discussing contract possibilities. . .

Why do you think he has not been approached? Blackburn has not issued a statement saying we are after him. . and they have for City's contacts. . I saw some headlines this morning reading hughesy saying "come get me."

Kenyon wants Hughes. . who knows that? who did he tell? No one has said "KENYON SAID". . . every paper keeps using phrases like "it is beleived". .

Kenyon does not own Chelsea. . Do you think Roman will commit £100m investments into the hands of a rookie manager. . ? Why do you think Avram was fired? Roman employs sparky. . he does not win a trophy in his first season and he doesn't even play fancy football and he's fired after spending £100m and we are back again to square one.
Hughes suppossed achievements have never been juged on number of trophies won. . .

The bookies. . what do you expect. . they put the most unikely manager and make strange odds that make you believe so the masses can put a lot fivers on sparky and they(bookies) make a lot.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by nateevs(m): 2:43pm On Jun 03, 2008
@Xerxes, Jackal. . @Ibime

Ok, let's start by saying that the short-list you are talking about is fiction produced by the media. . even the media does not have a clue.
The same Times-Newspaper that said a decision will be made on monday is talking about a decision being imminent. Last week Deschamps was quoted saying his name is on the short-list of four candidates. . .

ACMilan, through Galliani said we contacted Ancelotti, and we have two high profile Italian managers that we are eyeing. . maybe Mancini maybe Lippi ( we don't know). .

The media never mentioned Ancelotti from the beginning until the ACMilan rejection. . . now they hear the news and they say Sparky and Ancelotti and the two on the short. . . no one knows. . it's all bloody guess work.

Now Hughes. . .

Do you want me to put together what Harry Redknapp has achieved. . . ?
David Moyes, and host of others. Sparky is one of the best british managers. . maybe. . he signed Santa Cruz, and others for small fees. . I am not bothered, they cost little because none of them can play in the first team of ManU. . . Simple.

Tell me he managed to signed the best young player of the year in the premiership for a small fee, then I am impressed. . .
I must also add to what Razor said, I see him more of a ManU guy than Chelsea. . .
Hughes has not achieved enough to manage Chelsea. . .  Period.

The natural progression for him at this stage is to move to ManCity. . . where he deals with an owner that likes to have little influence on team selections and purchases. Can he handle Roman ?
