I have read All replies here. You people don't know anything about vehicles. You want your mechanic to do all the thinking despite your education. These mechanisms are not rocket science as its something anybody can understand. I became a mechanic to myself because I research about problems I encountered on my vehicle. I tell my mechanic Wat to do. I do the troubleshooting myself. I am not undermining their experiences but there is limit to what there thinking could get to. Some are shallow thinkers. Every vehicle brand has its own problems. I have pictures of broken-down vechles of many brands. Problem starts when you allow your timing belt to cut. It's takes God's grace to get it back to normal. Some of you use inferior car chargers and complain your vehicle has electrical problem. You park your car with the mechanic and leave. You don't know what happens afterwards. Over maintenance is what is killing some of us. Mechanics using defective tools to work. Not respecting fit and tolerances, avoiding specified oil grades because of cost. Some are Ill advised by mechanic. These are our major problem. I have been using Volvo s80 for 3+ years i have not encountered any big problem . I hardly get flat tires and i use tokunbo tires with special selection. It's always a serious problem changing my tyres because I hardly loose the nuts . I change my tyre when the groove is less not when it has been patched severally. You are a car owner. Ordinary OBD II car scanner you no get and your are driving 3M worth of car.. Ordinary multi meter you no get let alone having a small tool box. Most of these faults are small faults o but when your mechanic start tampering with other vehicle parts, they hardly restore them back to original position. Be wise my people and develop problem solving skills

I have been using the car for almost 4 years now. No regrets. What helps me is because I am a mechanical engineer and potentially an auto mechanic. I need to commend the utmost reliability of my car as it moves any day any time. I use the 5 cylinder and I am maintenance savvy. I schedule my maintenance before any fault occurs like, change timing belt, fuelpump and all before they breakdown. The motor has many electronics, so one problem may lead to another soon u need to solve any little problem as soon as possible. mechanics always misconstrue thecar Problems but if you are technologically oriented, Youtube willsolve all your problems. I change my shafts, hubs, rods,and Ball joints under30K last october and I have not done any repair since then till now. I only change oil and I drive Lekki to egbeda every working day.

As per the salary, the guy settled for 300k. You will be given a test on English and Math. Then interview. Mind you, you would have written the test before they start acting like they are seeing your Cv for the first time o. They waste time like they want you to lose the one you have. Very very unprofessional HR.

Am not here to put their name into disrepute o but my experience with them with the two times I was interviewed there was horrible. They have very unprofessional HR. I was interviewed for this role about 2 months ago. Very horrible experience. Three of us wrote a test after delaying us for 2hrs. We had the test. After like another 1 HR they started calling us. I was the last. The girl Shirley was asking questions as if she just got my cv at that moment. I was like. You saw my CV that was why you invited me. She started asking stupid question. I knew right from there she had lost interest in the interview because she behaved like she already had someone in mind. My interview did not last for 5 minutes. She was just chatting with her phone and smiling at the phone. Very horrible. Isneaked out of my workplace to attend the interview only forthem to Waste my time and act unprofessionally. It's like they don't like good looking person. When u are too Behind, they feel like you are not their type. They like rugged person because they have very engaging works and the role seems challenging. One of us was picked for the job sha but am surprised to see them advertising again. I followed up with the guy after a while and later stopped. But I saw one of his post recently looking for job on LinkedIn. Dunno what happened sha. Av not spoken with him since a while cuz of bad phone

My first experience. I was called for production supervisor. The moment the HR girl saw me, she just whispered in the white man ears and everything happened very fast. Why she behaved that way I did not know. I wouldn't know if it's my size or I use glasses or they feel am too Behind for the job because am not looking bad though.


Even before that time, I was invited for Design Engineer role. I told them I was busy on a project and recommended someone very good. They guy got there and they rejected him. Someone that has like 3 years project experience. I am sure the girl felt intimidated by the guy handsomeness honestly. It was after much persuasion the guy was called back and he is now one of their best. Am looking forward for the day they will call me again. I will blast them on phone. I will advice you ask them if they check your cv very well before inviting you so you won't be surprised the kind of questions they will be asking you. They are time waster. I learned the MD Is crazy too

I fear people like this because when the Shit, it's always massive and smelly. Nothing special really. Alot of girls have more than this but they don't flaunt it. When you see their husband carrying them about, treating them like angels, you wouldn't know the hidden treasure.

When they start discussing salary right from there and their is persuasion you collect the amount offered.

First thing first. When u noticed the issue, you should have scanned it to get the first code. That's diagnosis. Obviously it wasn't the gear since you claimed you changed it. I guess your engine is loosing pressure. The simplest sensor in the car can cause it. scan it again and get the error code. it behaves like it has clutch problem. is the gear automatic or manual. does the gear select well? does it use ETM, electronic throttle module, or na cable for throttle. a lot can cause this problem. scan and get the error code.

toyota camry 2.4, the problem started when instead of accelerating uphill smoothly, the speed will be decreasing until the car comes to a flat surface then the speed picks up.... when accelerating uphill, and I depress the accelerator the engine will just rev, but the speed will rather decrease.
took the car to my mechanic, he checked the gear oil, only to be told that I have to replace the gear box.
replace the gear box, started the car, it started fine , but couldn't rev, the mechanic called an electrician to come and find out what's wrong, by the time the electrician finish, the car wouldn't start again, it will crank but will not start, the ecu was changed, still no solution...

Anyone with this kind of experience? The car was serving me well except the uphill part, I will drive it to work(45mins from home to office) with no issues, this nonsense started just because I decided to change the gearbox

This is barbaric. Who dey buy them? Human being no get meaning to these people. This is modern day slavery now. Selling little children. When they now grow up, they start have parental issues. This is just common to this tribe in Nigeria. They can do anything for money. From baby factory to selling human being. They are just too primitive

It has happened to me before. If you Abs light is on, it can cause it. Check ur abs sensors and your front shafts. When it happened to me, I never knew my abs sensors has been choped off dues to bad shaft. After cahnging my shafts and the hubs, i now have a perfect gear. Kindly check. Regards

I scanned it, and I got these codes: P0751 and P1618, which suggests a stuck solenoid A or B or something. I have read about people who have changed their gear solenoids and that fixed the problem. How to get those solenoids and who will be willing to fix these solenoids are my challenge.

Does anyone here have any suggestions as to what to do?

I'll appreciate any counsel. Thank you.

Replacing the solenoid should solve you problem. But while you are at it. Check the transmission fluid level and service or replace the oil filter

Hello Guys, I know this is not typical of Nigerians to complain of getting paid without doing tangible work. As for me , am not comfortable with it but it seems no way out for me.
I am a very ambitious Mechanical Engineer with experience in various sections within the discipline because I have been working before graduation. Have both HNd and B.Eng. background. You know what that means.

I have been working in an Engineering firm for 6 years now but I have a big issue. I have been soo redundant for about 2 years now at my place of work. No sack, salaries paid as at when due, no project forthcoming and we are resume to work everyday. I have tried to get in touch with the management on we can diversify our operations maybe we can use our resources to get jobs outside our scope but all effort were futile.
I have considered leaving because staying their doesn't add value to me anymore. New jobs are not forthcoming.
Honestly I feel am sitting on a gun powder which I feel will blow one day. Even if this coy has so much money in the reserve, one day the money will finish.

Within this two years I have done some personal development training of Project Management, Maintenance Engineering and Managent because those are areas I love so much and would want to development myself privately. I had MNSE and COREN during this period hoping things will get better and I will move on. Up till now, nothing is forthcoming o. I am bothered. 2 years gone without doing anything and am getting paid. Pls am afraid. Resigning is not an option because I have bills to pay. Their not considering sacking anyone which means we will all remain their. Jobs are not forthcoming . Many interviews no reply . some would say am over qualified while I need to change job asap. Pls I need advice.
