It is a survey that is wrong, as far as Nigeria is concerned, there's hardly a place you'll go to that you don't find people speaking pidgin. And there's hardly a day that passes by without people ACTIVELY speaking pidgin more than any other language in Nigeria. Inshort, if not for something, I would have said, pidgin should have been our official language because even in schools, most people understand something better when spoken in pidgin than in english.

I am telling you that this data is based on active speakers.. if it's not based on active speakers , you can't tell me that's the number of English speakers in a country of over 250. Just bread between the lines and leave argument

There is a difference, if I go back to my village, let's say I relocate permanently, would I be speaking pidgin again? No, can I speak pidgin? Yes. But I'm no longer an active speaker. U see the difference? Let me give u clear example. How many people do u this speak pidgin in the northern states? Take Abia for example again. Apart from Umuahia, how many parts of Abia don't think speak pidgin? Even aba people predominantly speak Igbo. Now u see why pidgin isn't the first?

The rest and majority speak their native dialects as a mode of communication. Get it straight
