I knew it.

You know there's this strong trust and friendship between the Edo people and Igbos. The bond and understanding seems to be getting strong in recent years because both tribes now understand that they have a common objective for peace and progress, and are being hated by the same people.

This was why Reno o'mockry started the lies about an Igbo man insulting the Oba of Benin. That one failed flat, they now invented the Amaka issue. Watch how they gave the news life, and aimed to blow it out of proportion to make the Edo people lose focus, attack Igbos while the haters seize their government and resources like they did in Imo state.

The insincerity in Nigerians is what has made the country so bad today. An example of this insincerity is your post. Until we start telling ourselves the truth before we make any progress. Politicians are not the problem, we are the major problem.

So, politicians made a woman attend a TikTok live to spew rubbish against Edo and Yorubas, right? The same politicians forced some Igbos to openly speak against the Yorubas most especially the ones in Lagos. It is the same politicians who made the Yorubas defend their lands too. The same politicians forced the Oba of Lagos to speak the other day against the Igbos. Who bewitched us in this country and made us not to think with our brains anymore?

We are our problem and until we realise this, politicians like Aisha who is also not sincere will keep making citizens peg tribalism at the doorstep of opposition politicians.

Until we realise that we are our problem before Nigeria will make progress and part of this is putting a stop to recycled politicians to keep ruling this country. They should ALL rest.

I assume you are taking an MSc. You can use a third party for SWOP, and the proof of funds is not as much as that of a study permit; however, you must explain why the person wants to spend thousands of CAD to sponsor your family. Has he been supporting the family before now? What is the relationship? Is he financially stable?
Don’t neglect other aspects of the application, for example, demonstrating the genuineness of the relationship with your wife and home ties.

I am a PhD student. I am not just referring to my wife, our kids are involved too. He has been supporting the family and also financially stable. In my initial application for study permit, I provided my family details and the marriage isn't a recent one.

With the above details, kindly advise further.

Using a third party for POF is a red flag. Also be careful with this move. Let me share a recent case with you.

A Masters student wanted to bring his family to Canada. He did not have the required POF. He then asked people to boost his account with funds. He got the required POF and submitted the SOWP application in March 2024. In May 2024, medical request was sent, and was done. In June 2024, IRCC sent an ADR for an updated bank statement from the day the applucation was submitted till date.

This was where the problem started. The money that were transferred to the POF account were returned immediately the application was submitted. After the updated bank statement was submitted, he got a PFL from the IRCC to explain why those money were withdrawn after the application. They also queried the recent lump sum into the account to boost the fund. He responded to the letter. In the first week of August, the application was refused for misreprensentation and the wife and the three children were rendered inadmissible to Canada for 5 years.

See what desperation has caused him. The implication of this is that the husband studying presently in Canada wont get PR based on the admissibility issue. Based on Section 42(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, he will also be rendered inadmissible to qualify for PR.

READ!

42 (1) A foreign national, other than a protected person, is inadmissible on grounds of an inadmissible family member if

(a) their accompanying family member or, in prescribed circumstances, their non-accompanying family member is inadmissible; or

(b) they are an accompanying family member of an inadmissible person.

Thank you so much for the reply.

Hello guys, I need your advice on this matter. I am presently in Canada studying and I want my family to join me here. I have an individual (not a relative) who wants to sponsor my family to Canada and his statement of account meets or is more than sufficient for the proof of funds requirements. He has also confirmed that the letter he gives together with statement of account can be notarized by me. Also, I have little savings which I can add to support the application for my family.

Kindly advise me on the best way to go about the proof of funds thing based on the above narration.

Education / Re: Lagos State To Convert LASUCOM To Medical University by Nauttyprof(m): 5:05pm On Aug 27
Dijita:

I disagree with you. I am of the perspective that Lagos state should have a medical university to train more students that they are currently doing at the moment. Given the demand for Nigeria medical personnel overseas the state should put resources into graduating upward of 5000 medical personnel per year. Many will Japa but a lot will still be in Nigeria to care of Lagosians.

You have still not explained anything. Why can't all these be done in the existing system. Having a University does not make any changes instead it is just a good way of siphoning funds too.

If the existing system is expanded, upgraded and operated under the college of medicine, all what you mentioned can be achieved. Having a University status does not necessarily mean a larger number. Instead, having the right facilities address the number issue.

Why do you think NUC gives a cap on admission. It is simply because of the available facilities and not having University Status.

This is commendable. Lagos seems to be the only state with future plans. Most states are still grappling to catch up with current realities, meanwhile Lagos state is already into the future.

Someone asked what he’s not getting correct. Well, the answer is in the post.

All you have to do is remove the hatred, tribalism, any bigotry from your heart, and then maybe, just maybe, you might be able to understand the post better.

Yes, there is LASUTH. But according to the post, the LASG want this to be a stand-alone medical university, not one under the supervision or control of the universities.

Objective:

To bridge the existing gap in the training of medical personnel and improve healthcare delivery system in the state.

The new stand-alone medical university would take care of the challenges the current LASUCOM is still beset with. The challenges includes increase in population, student’s admission, healthcare demand, infrastructure expansion, etc.

This has no tribalism or bigotry in it. There is no sense in making the college of medicine a stand alone university. The objectives you mentioned can be achieved also within the normal university system. All that is needed is to upgrade the existing facilities and introduce other health care areas not considered in the previous or existing arrangement.

We just love doing things for name and not really making the needed impact. Some states have it, why can't Lagos have it?

Before you come for me, I am a Yoruba and a proper one (if you know what I mean). We just need to be objective on this.

The slavery mindset still works. We want to be free from foreign interventions, yet, we are not free mentally from them. We blame them for everything that went wrong, yet, we are still captured mentally. What is the benefit of the foreign protest to the situation in Nigeria? For the media noise or what?

When has protest about the situation in Canada, UK, US or these foreign countries we run to, been carried out in Nigeria to address some issues in these countries?

Mental Slavery has not been fought completely.

No igbo gives a bleeping hoot if/when your protest holds, our stand has been clear,we made our protest through the ballot..let those that out tinubu there go and protest…it’s a figment of your imagination that is telling you igbos are offended..
And what about lagosians that want to protest in Lagos ? Maybe on that day,you will do well to be on ground and mark the attendance by tribe and region!

This just shows it's of no use arguing with you as you tribal bigotry is just for comments without understanding the genesis of issues

What do you mean by igbos became offended all of a sudden?
Was it not the Yorubas that claimed igbos were the organizers of the protests? Where was your attack when atiku backed the protest, where was your attack when northerners wrote to the IG?
You guys, just like bayo onanuga have never hidden your natural tribal bigotry from generations to generations while claiming suffisticated…you see everything from the tribal lens, you fear an unarmed igboman,More than a Fulani with AK 47!!!! Hateful souls

Yorubas never claimed this. Your tribal bigotry instead is at work. Yorubas simply said go to your regions to protest. You still haven't answered me why the Igbos became offended when yorubas declared no protest?

It was upon the reaction by Igbos that made the narrative so obvious that Igbos have an agenda to fulfil. Follow the trend of when Yorubas came out to declare no protest in the land and stop this tribal bigotry. It's obvious that you are pained too.
Politics / Re: It Is Risky For Faceless People To Lead Protests – Dele Momodu Warns Protesters by Nauttyprof(m): 6:03pm On Jul 25
Thewrath:

You can’t claim no protest is/will happen in other regions.
Secondly, why the focus on only igbos? You left the north that wrote a letter to the IG seeking protection and permission to protest and started making attempts to label the protest an igbo or obidients protest which is wrong.
You guys are only pained that the igbos saw through your failed antics to rope the igbos in,even when they were the first to say they are not interested in any protest.

Was it only in Lagos destruction of properties happened?
Is Lagos the only place protests has been happening? The one tinubu and buhari did prior 2014,was it in Lagos?
Why must you guys see everything as an attack against Yorubas!!

Where was the protest labelled Igbo thing? Or the Igbos made it obvious that it was their thing? Yorubas stated clearly that they won't protest and that anyone who wants to protest should go to their region to protest. How come all of a sudden the Igbos who claimed they were not interested in the protest became offended and started all sorts? Please, answer this. Does this not suggest the more that the protest is tribal based?

Failed antics? When the Igbos are attacking Yoruba for declaring not to protest? The reverse is the case. Igbos were interested to play on the psychology of others just to achieve their aim.

If someone tells me that I shouldn't protest in an area despite saying that I won't protest. Should I be offended and start attacking such? Instead, I should emphasize that I am not protesting. It's that simple.

Igbos are more tribal than any other tribe in Nigeria. Every discussion is on tribal basis and throwing of insults instead of addressing issues
Politics / Re: It Is Risky For Faceless People To Lead Protests – Dele Momodu Warns Protesters by Nauttyprof(m): 5:29pm On Jul 25
Thewrath:
Some Yorubas are the cause, giving a legitimate, lawful, peaceful protest a tribal and regional affiliation,(you want to practice regionalism through the back door)now the organizers are faceless…

Let’s see who you have to blame now,go and mark attendance on that day by region and tribe!

The protest should be peaceful unless the police and army decide to shoot unarmed protesters like they always do!

Yorubas aren't. They are only concerned about their region damaged in the name of protest while nothing is done in other region. If you are sincere with yourself, why are the Igbos so pained whenever yorubas say they will protect their states and won't protest most especially in Lagos? Why are the Igbos who mentioned not to protest, all of a sudden attacking the position of Yorubas?

Does this not bring in tribal sentiment to the protest? Does this not suggest that there are evil intentions hiding under the protest to destroy properties in Lagos and as such, take us back to more suffering because of a protest that lacks direction.

We have a problem in this country and it is the fact that once anybody makes a statement we are swayed by the statement and not the person. If Dangote is not a monopolist, what has he achieved in the other sectors he invested in? Also, let's ask if it is in the interest of the country that his cement price keeps increasing. What has he done about the ridiculous price increase in all his products. Dangote does not work in the interest of the country. Instead, he monopolizes the market and then, make Nigerians pay more.
