After the long wait and delay we had to endure through, not wearing that famous NYSC regalia would seem as though one did not pass through the four walls of the University. Some how, having your service year was like the crown jewel to be attained by any graduate, even the market woman would ask “Omome, when you go go service na?” Yeah, it was that prized.

Some of us in the same boat would constantly follow each other up on WhatsApp and other platforms, we called each other frequently just to keep updated. No one wanted to be in the dark and besides, we were tired of sitting at home. One day we heard that the senate list had been released, they say it is a compilation of prospective corp members from cleared institutions across the federation. My name was there. I had seen too many downsides to get my hopes up over a senate list, but on the flip side, I have seen many up sides too. So my hope stayed on the rise anyway. My anticipation was becoming tangible, I could almost touch it.

Corp members were mainly sent to schools, I did not want that. As much as I loved communicating in a responsible environment, I did not want to teach. Anywhere else but the classroom, let me please be among the few who would make it to reputable organizations and setups, as always, I would give my best and if the employers see it fit to retain me as a staff, blessed be. It was a dream.

One midnight, everywhere starts buzzing, the website was open for registration. On nights like this the sleep is usually very short.

The struggle and pain that we go through in life as we strive to achieve our goals and dreams in life, prove to be a long painful one and full of turbulence. We feel our hard work, our plans, our prayers and believe, is not going to take us any where, you have tried everything possible but yet, nothing seem to work out, you feel frustrated, angry and weak because of that you want to give up, you should know this “You have come too far to give up now” according to Wilma Mankiller “The secret of our success is to never, never give up”.
You should wake up every morning and remind your self “I am a fighter and I never give up”.
You have to believe and trust what you’re doing even when people don’t see the importance of it, don’t worry keep pushing, keep pushing never give up. If you really believe in what you’re doing, work hard, take nothing personally and if something blocks one route, find another, “Your victory is right around the corner. Never give up” -Nicki Minaj .

No matter how hard things gets,be it in your finance, education, career, relationship, spiritually, family and marriage, people have been in that situation and today they triumph over it and all the pain, sorry and struggle was not easy but is worth it. When you think of your dream it should be enough to strengthen you and give you the courage to soar high and break ground no matter the limitations before you

Be confident in your self and your idea, persist in any situation when others are complaining and giving up, “keep calm and be persistence” and never you forget to be “positive at all time” , these are keys to life that will help you to sustain your drive and passion to go after your dreams.
Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you.

Learn to learn even from someone that you think is below you, be true to yourself at all times so as to not to live a life of pretence and regret, when people don’t buy into your idea don’t stop believing in yourself. Always stay focused, what people say or think about you is non of your business, focus on your path and never give up, You victory is around the corner.
