PoliticsRe: Obama Calls Ghana ‘model For Africa’ by Nayah(f): 9:39am On Mar 09, 2012
Evolution is about mentality, progress and education, it seems Ghana has got
Do you that the Ghanaian governement is unpopular because Ghanaians think that Atta Mill should follow John Kufor's economic plan for developpment but apprently he doesn't, but it doesn't matter Ghanaian are still working hard for their country wihtout complaining all the time about their governement, and that's what I would like country like Nigeria get as well

I've seen so many threads about the "weak FG" and so on but we Africans what do we do for our country? Have we have to always wait for governements to build and work hard for countries? Yes some head of states are weak but the solution will not come because we're complaining or by heaven, we need to trust more in ourselves and in our respective lands

clemog:
Our leaders are not being patriotic, so how do you expect followers to be?
FG is not Nigerians parents, civism and individual education are the key, FG will not do everything everyone has to take his responsability, when you steal this is not Goodluck who send you doing this so I would like Africans to be responsible not always putting blame on authorities, it's about our mentality first

merengue:
Patriotism doesn't mean turning a blind eye to wrongs and applauding stupidity. So because Nigeria performed Voltron for S/A who realized they had investments that they can't afford to jeopardize and apologized, all of you are now shouting patriotism? How many of you got angry when T.A Orji removed non-Abians from the civil service and Fashola did the same to non-Lagosians or isn't it the same with what the S/A peeps did?
He said it all poster, that's what I call patriotic statement, you know everybody likes his country and is proud of his roots but the one who move forword are those who accept that they failed somewhere and try hard to reverse the trend

bittyend:
A PATRIOT is someone who's really to take a stand and make a change in their country and for its people.

Ken Saro Wiwa was an Ogoni patriot.
Ojukwu was a Biafra patriot.
Gani Fawenhimi was a Nigerian patriot.
Fela Kuti was a Nigerian patriot.
Awolowo was a Yoruba patriot.

Do you get the drift??
Yes but for me a PATRIOT is someone who loves his country and faces problems without ignoring bas things, I mean that's the only way to improve, accept that we're not perfect and in some field we need to improve

Patriotism include telling ourselves and our leaders the truth.

I am proud of my country, but I will be the 1st to also condemn what is wrong with my country and my leaders with the view of having a change.

If I don't complain and fight for the right thing to be done, who will?
Exactly
PoliticsRe: We Won’t Apologise To Nigeria, Says S-africa by Nayah(f): 5:24pm On Mar 08, 2012
Onila that's what I said, being a big country everywhere doesn't mean you're a leader, because in order to give solutions about social pb anywhere, we need to improve our own and that's the issue I think for Nigeria: it tries to make peace while its soil has social issues especially with BOKO HARAM ( God is watching them)
PoliticsRe: We Won’t Apologise To Nigeria, Says S-africa by Nayah(f): 5:05pm On Mar 08, 2012
Onila I know about some peacekeeper coming from Nigeria, but I'm not so sure about every single African country who have pb, I think Nigeria acts more in the West African region more than anywhere else

Hi my dear, patriotism doesn't mean saying AMEN to all things even when you know that you're wrong, I can understand we don't talk about embarrasing things in front of the foreigner but you have to ba able to talk about this with your brother

kokoA:
These countries that are treating our people badly are just displaying what I will call "childishness" because their leaders are still the ones that will run to Nigeria for help anytime they are faced with difficulties. Any Black African country that runs into problem first call on Nigeria for help, thesame people their people dispise so much. I don't blame them, I blame our "Father Christmas" leaders who are always quick to help them out at the expense of we the citizens. Imagine South Africa fa! mtcheeeww!
Not sure about this statement brother, big country doesn't mean big leadership, and for Nigeria its leadership is fragile
