Nairalanders, am currently a distant learning student in a Nigerian university, also currently residing in Ibadan. The little job i use to manage myself with, the ''current Nigerian economy situation'' recently took it away from us. Although am not a 'business person', but i would love to improve my business skill/be my own boss. Now am thinking of relocating to Lagos. My question is PLS LAGOSIANS WHICH SMALL SCALE BUSINESS DO YOU GUYS THINK IS FAVOURABLE OVER THERE TO BEGIN WITH? mature comments based on experience only. Thank you

Dude, you should be thanking to GOd for your life first. I ve seen peoeple who are disabled( as in their hands and feet are useless) they drag themselves up and down the highway begging for alms(#20). You say you lost opportunities yet these people will never have an opportunity you re loosing. And on a final note. oga the reasons why ECOWAS was formed was foe every member to benefit AT THE SAME TIME. The reason ECOWAS isnt improving is because ONLY ONE COUNTRY IS BENEFITTING THE MOST FROM IT. And whats the benefit? NIGERIANS ARE FREE TO COLONIZE ALL THE COUNTRIES BUT NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND!

Nigeria have benefited from ECOWAS. Our businesses are everywhere, and the citizens in those countries have benefited from the FDI.
Now imagine adding Morocco to the mix, with cheaper goods due to decent infrastructure, better government, and a more stable system than Nigeria, your guess is as good as mine. That would be a trouble for Nigerian businesses and economy.

And they are oil and gas producing too.

well on the brighter side, Nigeria will have no choice but to increase/improve production, infracstructure to counter whatever the morrocans are planning if the govt is wise. In other words Nigeria will now have reasons to improve this country finally!........ But we all know the story. Smh

And for them to all succeed they must all work together in trust and harmony. It would be foolhardy of us to allow a competitor like Morocco into our personal sphere of Influence. Right now Nigeria owns Ecowas. It would be bad strategy to bring in another heavy weight.

Nigeria 'owning' ECOWAS is the reason Ecowas has never achieved anything other than ''ECOMONG soldiers''. We have to have diff super powers for french speaking, and english speaking smaller countries to maki it work!

ECOWAS has never grown since inception because all other french speaking countries dont really trust NIGERIA countries like BENIN,TOGO GUINEA have populatios of less than 6million each. They fear NIGERIA monopolizing the union. On ther other hand, morroco is also french speaking and almost as rich as Nigeria unlike other ECOWAS countries.

SPAIN is the outermost country in the mediterranean sea, there are 31 others. Immigration or not, MORROCO is presently trying to close the gap bw north africa and sub saharan africa unlike egypt. They stand to gain alot!

The last time i know was that morocco was planing to rejoin AU African Union not ECOWAS, Ecowas is in West Africa While Morocco is in North Africa.......Morocco can only rejoin AU Having left the body over 30yrs ago......always get the right info before publishing your stack news

MORROCO rejoined AU on 25th Jan 2017 and she really in the ' north africa union' so to speak, hence, she tends towards ECOWAS by jan 2018

morroco is the most heterogenous country in north africa, meaning besides islam, there are christains,jews, spaniards,portugese and other minorites who are accepted equally in the country. Or have you ever heard any news on terrorist bombing xtains or any kind of violence from Morroco ever before? So am sure there is no islamic agenda whatsoever, even their queen is of christain descent.

Nigeria should learn to think strategically. Morocco can displace Nigeria as the most important member of Ecowas, or at least it can rival Nigeria within the block in terms of influence. For that reason alone, Nigeria ought to make every open and surreptitious effort to deny membership to Morocco.

Besides I really hope that Morocco and its Mediterranean neighbor Spain will not attempt to have some sort of privileged membership of Ecowas whereby one will still require a visa to go to Morocco.

MORROCO cannot displace NIGERIA in any way unless we let them to. Morroco is the key to accessing the mediterranen sea due to its location. The distance between the morrocan border and spain's is barely about 20km. Infact MORROCO HAS NO ENEMY COUNTRY IN THIS WORLD(besides Israel) everybody wants to be in their good books. They are already key leaders in north africa besides EGYPT, even if they leave north africa, nothing will change their status. They just want to expand their market, and able to stake a claim on their lost territory, SARAWI REPULIC!

geographically, if you divide AFRICA using the catersian plane, countries like MORROCO,ALGERIA,TUNISIA and all ECOWAS countries all fall into WESTERN AFRICA!

Hello nairalanders. This is my first time on this section. The issue is i just finished learning how to drive (manual) in a driving school. My instructor later promised to teach me with an automatic transmission car just once later during the week. This man usually screams at us whenever we make mistakes while driving and its sooooooo confusing although he is a good teacher. So i would like to make the most of the opportunity.... Hence i need an 'expo' before hand. My question is HOW CAN ONE CHANGE GEAR WHILE DRIVING WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CAR SINCE THERES NO CLUTCH PEDAL? Thanks

I have no idea why am losing faith in christainity. Seems i am tending towards becoming less religious. I grew up in a christain home, always engaged in church activities from childhood. But all through my late teens and now my twenties am gradually becoming distant with the bethren. The christainity of today is not the one i grew up in. Back then as a child in deeper life bible church, we were all more pious about holiness/honesty, you see it everywhere. But today what we see are churches financial success preaching, everybody come only on sundays to show of their new clothes. All the testimonies giving in churches is about how GOD provided,protected the individual but not how GOD bless their neighbours. Nigeria is just too corrupt, yet we all claim to be religious! It has gotten to a stage, where we cant trust our neighbours!have seen people who claim to be xtians do evil things. Why are we loosing it? Why is the church now something else? My mum is already labelling me the black sheep of the family. Now my fear is that i would never be as i was with the church as when i was much younger and it seems worsen everyday with what we see. Pls is there any way one can overlook these mordern trends in the church of today, or am i on my way to being an atheist for life?
