Watch and see they will probably seek the kind of ojoro one-leg-in-one-leg-out membership that will deny entry to Ecowas Citizens. They will want us "monkeys" to still require a visa. The sort of ojoro membership that the UK had with the EU in terms of not joining the Euro.

Remeber That House of Representatives mandated its Committees on Foreign Relations and Regional Integration to undertake an appraisal of Nigeria’s membership of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) over speculation that Morocco will be admitted into the regional body.

The decision of the House was sequel to the adoption of a motion calling for a review of Nigeria’s membership of ECOWAS in view of the clamour to admit Morocco, sponsored by Bosun Oladele and five other members.

The House in stating it’s objection to ECOWAS admitting Morocco into its fold, said the move will be highly detrimental to the growth of Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.

MORROCO rejoined AU on 25th Jan 2017 and she really in the ' north africa union' so to speak, hence, she tends towards ECOWAS by jan 2018

Nigeria should not try anything funny against the decision of Morocco joining ECOWAS because, the inclusion of the Moroccans will be an added value for the ECOWAS Community.
Moreover, it will enhance our Economic power and bring more recognition to the region from other global community.
Further more, what does Nigeria House of Representative has to do with ECOWAS matter??.

While we know with great responsibility we shall wield great power, but we aren't benefiting anything from this useless ECOWAS, instead neighboring countries are using our large market to money off us.
We shall really rethink this ECOWAS stuff. If we are to continue funding it and providing market for them (mostly imported and repackaged products) the least we shall benefit is for ECoWAs to adopt Naira as it's official currency.

There are many benefits. Ecowas is Nigeria's main foreign sandbox in which she plays with both money and power. You would be aware of the huge benefits to Nigeria is you visit other Ecowas capitals. Nigerian Banks and corporations have flooded all their markets and its a huge plus for us.

It would be foolhardy to allow a competitor like Morocco into our personal sphere of influence.
