Sorry for the delay.
*databoy:
This is getting interesting. @poster, three things. 1. Please address the issue of security, at least thats why we have slyr0x in the house. 2. The physical address thing goes a long way to instill confidence in your users, so fix that. 3. What system do you have in place to safeguard the funds of payees? E.g. Escrow.com. Also what user verification system are you using to ensure your users cant defraud people.
[list]
[li]Contact details as well as Physical address of Softcom Imagio can be found here: https://www.eyowo.com/support
We are at Suite 303, 56 Opebi Road, Ikeja, Lagos state, Nigeria [/li]
[li]Regarding security, We've taken steps to ensure the systems integrity. All information exchanged on Eyowo passes through a VeriSign Secure SSL encryption and authentication to protect you and your customers. Also, EYOWO does not accept or store any card information.

In the event that there is an error in the transaction (say, internet connection trips off), the transaction is cancelled. That means, no money will be removed from your account and the no money will be giving to the merchant.
[/li]

[li]Regarding the funding of merchant accounts, Eyowo settles your bank account for all payments received twice a week: Tuesdays and on Fridays. Merchants can always track transactions via the Transaction history in realtime available on their dashboards.
[/li]

Cheers

Phew.
So for the wait. I'm back online
astronp8:
I have this question:

1. Do you have one eyowo account for multiple sites?

OR

2. Do you have individual account for your individual sites?
Yes you can. Eyowo has feature called Wallets, which allows you to create multiple wallets to receive multiple payments from multiple sites. And it's all under one account.

Cheers

If this right here is as good as it sounds, it would be the best thing to happen to Nigerian ecommerce.

Adequately insure this system to protect funds, and put in place a "verified merchant" protection policy like paypal and you'll be all set.

by the way, your main logo on the site is missing a home page link. A site's navigation feels broken when there isn't one.

All the best.

Signed, potential customer.
@St-Kris, thanx for the feedback and advice. Hope the Verisign "stamp of Honesty" impressed you though? wink
And thanx for highlighting that small glitch. We'll have it fixed by morning

We look forward to having you as a full time Customer!

Guy , the concept is exciting (for Nigeria at least) bit not quite convincing yet.

1. The registration fee I guess is necessary for a purpose though I don't get it since you still make money on EVERY transaction. It is like kind of asking me to pay money to acquire a debit card. It sucks.

2. I think there are gaping security holes in this thing of yours. Having used paypal for nearly ten years I know what I am talking about. Can't specifically put my finger on it yet but I have a feeling,

3, What recourses are available to users who get burnt in this ?

4. Who are Soft Imagio ? There is no street address . I wouldn't do a financial transaction with an email afdress

5. I am still looking at this

But so far, I say NO THANKS  smiley
Some people like you like dropping irrational comments. Name one payment gateway that has not had problem at start-up. Even paypal has been hit with so many fraud lawsuit by customers. We should be supportive of people who have taken time to come-up with something many Nigerians back home are being deprived of. Waiting for people like you to come with a solution will take ages. Always playing devil advocate.

There must be problem on the short run, and company will adjust based on it.

Yours is an awesome concept, but please make the site a lot more attractive, more user friendly and less basic-looking. This is really hot stuff, you can't be inviting customer to a site looking dry like this  angry
Thanx for this. However, the design philosophy behind this was to present to the user a simple, easy to use, accessible website where the content presented would be legible, easy to read and the accompanying presentation of the content would be distracting.

However, since this is an evolving service, we would like to hear your ideas on how to improve the outlook of the site.

i had my bitter experience in 2004 when a company situated in the USA called PaySat, owner of the now non-existent paysat.com
started out very strong. The tasteful finish of their website and their robost API swept me off.
whenever you call in, they answer every of your questions professionally.

Not until i used their website as a medium to accept a $500 payment. I delivered the service to the client and paysat never paid me.
they responded to my emails that new accounts needed to be verified. this went on for 6 month, then after 2 years, the domain expired and no renewal.

I have gone through eyowo.com, seen the extended validation SSL, seen it's a registered company with CAC
unfortunately, it's a lot of money we are talking about here, can you address issues raised by qunleajayi and SGN?

BTW your terms and agreement seems non existent --> https://www.eyowo.com/about/terms
Sorry about your past experience, @Webdezzi. However, if you read through the thread (incase you missed it) i did refer them to our Support personnel. I'm just one keyboard-happy nerd who works there. Ok, seriously though, get across to support and they'll be glad to lay it out for you.

And thanks for spotting the error. We'll fix that as soon as tomorrow.

Jazes. Thanks for your perspective. Security, as you know, is a rather dynamic issue. I can say Eyowo is secure. And so far, our Users haven't had any complaints to the contrary.

SGN:
@poster

This looks interesting, very.  I however have a question:

Given your explanation above, seems you will have a grand account with Interswitch and e-Tranzact which you then connect to behind the scene to carry out transaction. Now, Interswitch/e-Tranzact is not aware of the original merchant site from where the transaction emanates, so the merchant and the paying customer cannot raise any issue with Interswitch/e-Tranzact but you.  The fund is removed from the customer account and paid into your account, then you do a transfer of the appropriate amount less commission to the merchant account. Now, my question is that is this backed/controlled/regulated by any existing law/CBN provision, like such that backed Interswitch/e-Tranzact or its just a smart business thinking?

Beside this concern of how protected the merchant and the customer are, I doff my hat for this brilliant innovation.
@SGN, as i recommended, please forward your concerns and questions via email. Thank you

SGN, this issue of security is very important. I cant put my client's business on this and one morning after about N5m has vanished into thing air, I get a message saying eyowo.com server has permanently vanished, However, this is a brilliant idea. Why dont u insure eyowo transactions with an insurance company to cover our risks?

WebmastersRe: E-business And Nigeria's New Payment Gateway By 2008. by ndgfx(m): 3:27pm On Oct 30, 2011
It's a new dawn in eCommerce in Nigeria and this is what You've been waiting for.

Before i go on, lemme ask, how much do you pay to integrate payment systems like Interswitch, E-tranzact, Mastercard, ValueCard on your site? Quite a lot (and i'm not evening assuming here, i know)

So what if i told you that you could integrate a payment gateway (listen to this, just one) that accepts ALL of them, Just name it: Interswitch, Verve, E-tranzact, Mastercard, Visa,, yada-yada - It takes them all. It even allows your customers pay with their ATM!!!! Yeah, easy right?!!!!

And what if i told you that you could use this platform to send Virtual invoices for bills to your costumers online such that with a simple click, the transaction is completed. Even without you having a website.

And what if i told you that you could do all these and more at the ridiculous price of #6,000 per year (yeah, you read it right. Count the zeroes to be sure)

Introducing Eyowo: An online payment gateway that allows online retailers accept payments on their website and give multiple payment options (Interswitch, Mastercard, Visa and Etranzact) to their buyers with just one integration.

Go to www.eyowo.com to know more about this amazing platform and if you wanna play around and get all hands on, check out https://www.eyowo.com/developers/

im interested in this . but first i have some unclear issues.
1. the 1% off any transaction is quit high.
2. how reliable is this new gatewayhuh? (is this a clearing house like interswitch or just a level one model on other clearing house).
Binks. How far?! Haba!!!
Eyowo attracts a 1% transaction fee for all payment options. If you receive a 5,000 naira payment on your website or through invoicing using Eyowo you get settled 5,000 – 1% (50) in your bank account.

I'd like to see you list some options with cheaper rates,

Nice concept. But i wanna ask, how possible is it for me to recieve payment via mastercard when its your gateway i installed in my site? Or better still, how can i accept payment from lets say, interswitch when i have not paid them the integration fee or installed their gateway in my site but yours? Is there a sort arrangement you made with them or its part of the coding jargons i have no clue about. Thanks.
Yes. It's possible for you to receive payment via Mastercard and Interswitch with Eyowo!. Go to https://www.eyowo.com/support/faq to satisfy your curosity cheesy

Ok oo. I'll check it out.

Btw, if i may ask. Why should i use Eyowo as against other existing payment gateways like CashEnvoy and Interswitch.
Let's see.
Besides the fact that it's free, fast, safe, less of a hassle, and all the other yada-yada you hear these days,
- It's a wayyyy cheaper solution. #6,000 a year with 1% off every transaction.
- You don't have to compel customers to register with the service to use it. Just pay. Even with your ATM.
- Invoicing. Sexiest thing to ever happen online. And you don't even need a site for it.

If you want a better, more-comprehensive-but-less-biased list of other features you can go here https://www.eyowo.com/services/features

It has come to my utmost displeasure that Nigerians copy too much. And as a matter of fact this negative trend is practiced shamefully by the all Producers in Nollywood.
Please Guys what's the way forward about something like this? Must we always show the world we learn as children how to copy from another persons work in class?
Can't we be innovative for once?

Am set to stop watching any made in Nigeria Movie. Don't know about you guys?

And by the way, is this suppose to be funny?

saxywale:
Nollywood = Plagiarism angry
True. Whilst we had fun making these posters, the underlying idea was that the overall body of stakeholders in nollywood improves the quality of the movies they output. Sometimes, i get the feeling that it's a secret mass propaganda with the aim of dumbing down the general populace by selling them really dumbed down ideas. Say, i take a cross-section of 10 movies and watch all of them, i reckon that 8 of them all talk about love, 9 of them is about greed, money and repercussions thereof, 5 of them include witches and other forms of sorcery, the list is endless. Can't someone out there make a brilliant film that is epic and still as close to our everyday existence as possible?

All in all, i thank you guys for seeing our works. Do help us spread the word. We can only be the change we want to see.
