bengs: I will never forget my experience@ asaya camp kogi state....under captain patrick Aize omosigho...that man is the wickedest man av her seen ...(Permit that english pls)thas. D best way I can describe him!....Wake up to what exactly? To the fact that your discharge certificate is as valueless as your BSc certificate, 5 minutes after you received it? If you haven't figured this much by now, you've been learning all this time. I graduated from school about 3 years ago and i haven't served. Why? Because i still don't feel like it. I don't feel that my country should forcefully use me to patch up its in-competencies. I don't feel that my country deserves the right (constitution or otherwise) to take away 1 year of my life "in service to my country" and not guarantee my safety. I'm supposed to be serving in a country, not a frigging war-zone. I don't feel that my country needs to sugar-coat service like something honorable. There's no honor in it. It's just a piece of paper that says you've served your time. Pretty much no different from an excon getting his prison discharge papers. "Thank you for your time. You're free to go" And what do you go out to do when you're done? Your supposedly beloved country wont retain you, surely they'd flush you out as fast as they sucked you in. They'd expect you to survive by yourself, without any help or support for your ideas or dreams or even create an even playing environment for people with good-to-great ideas to thrive. You'll come out Jobless, with lots of experiences that have little or no value, with lots of memories you certainly don't need. The original vision of NYSC is lost and it's sad that no-one currently connects to that ideology, rather just seeing it as a rites of passage for every university educated youth. Because you have a "shared experience in suffering" doesn't make camping or NYSC a good endeavor. And if you're a forward thinking person, wasting one year only to come back in a full circle to the point when you graduated, well....is simply a waste of time. I won't serve. Plain simple. Because it's not worth my investment in time plus the supposed "shared experiences"? Hang around Oshodi for a month, you'll have plenty to tell. Now you can wake up. Screw the illusions. Oooo and while you're at it, learn to Code. The world is changing in that direction. |
kulyie: am not suprised.when many women are married,it seems they drop their number 6 in their parents house.the d1ck that they are receiving will not make them think.mshewwwwInterestingly enough, i've bin trying to figure exactly what the human number 6 is....... #Sadness |
WHAT ARE YOU ALL SAYING?! LIKE SERIOUSLY?! I went to both Public and Private universities i.e Uniben and Covenant university. So yeah, i'm in a position to make comparisms. The moment you enter Covenant University, you're given a rule book. The RULES governing the environment of the school. It's those same rules that have kept cultism out of that school. There's a general sense of security, no one can walk up to you and harass you and stab you for no real reason. It's the rules that graduate engineers, technicians, entrepreneurs, Scientists and other would be professionals. The Rules were placed there for the good of everyone and not just for students, for lecturers and school management as well. This is the problem with Nigeria, especially the youth: you break the "already stated rules" and expect nothing to happen? Then when you get the repercussions of your actions, you begin to act the victims? YOU BROKE THE DAMN RULES, YOU DO THE CRIME, YOU PAY THE FINE. Plain simple. It's because you, as part of society, permit these kind of actions and behavior, that's why everything is wrong with us as a people. Because you are young doesn't give you the right to be reckless and unlawful and that's the original vision of the school: To fix the Nigerian problem starting with the mentality of the youth. The Wrong movies, the wrong music, the wrong messages...these are things that influence people with wrong ideas to do wrong things. It's this kind of indiscipline that have gotten us to where we are and it's amusing that we've all been brainwashed to accept it as normal. Look at the things that we've all witnessed before on social media: Rape. Manslaughter. Murder. Embezzlement. Theft. And even jungle justice. Do you think people with sound, sane minds will be capable of these things without bringing themselves to other? It's because of the excesses you permit that's why you suffer these things. ehie: i think the worst thing a parent can do is to send his child to that university, between adoloscence and early adulthood is when the brain is ats its sharpest, that is,u have left the naviety of childhood and seeing the world with fresh eyes,ie half naive half inquiring, that is when you question everything you know and have the notion you can change the world...a young adult often tries everything and outgrows what works and doesnt work, please free the mind of the young and dont bog them down with ur own warped up views,we have so much dysfunction in our society because of hyprocisy, the best thing to do advise a person and let him grow on his ownAll of you that are saying that say let the young mind try everything, isn't that the path to destruction. Covenant university created an environment for students to be able to focus on what's important without too many distractions. And let's say you want to "Expressively display" your adolescence. Nothing stops anyone from going outside school to enjoy themselves if they want to. Loskee: was the room actually invaded, or they stumbled upon him? he probably wasnt in the place he was supposed to be at the time. he probably wasnt observing lights out etc.If you're as God-fearing as you all claim to be, either as a person or a parent, is what the boy did right before you and the sight of whoever you call God? Please people, let's tell ourselves the truth. |

Just watched the video....liked it...and Downloaded it. It's not a dream within a dream but a Dream Loop...the person is forced to relive a series of events again and again, with the same outcome, regardless the actions taken. I don't know how this happens medically (since the brain is medically active but he simply refuses to wake up), but in my opinion, that's the worst form of torture ever. Kinda similar in synopsis to Silent Hill, where a young girl is wronged and at her time of passing merges with an evil spirit and locks her entire town in a waking nightmare. |
Dondav: Everyone should go mute completely if these words are abomination at work...They aren't an abomination at work....it's more like an issue of curtsy and good work ethics to foster healthy working environment. Which i think is bullocks because everyone is trying to take a dump on me, why the frackers should i be nice to them? valicious1: AM SELF-EMPLOYED SO I SAY WHATEVER I WANT TO WHOMEVER I WISH.Which is cool because you get to determine your own working terms and environment. At the coy i run, we like to kip it casual, expressive and we toss around curse words a lot. Not because we mean them but for some strange reason it brings us together as a tightly knit unit of creatives and let's us verbally ease out the tension and frustrations....which i'd never be able to do if i were to be in, say, a bank where a high level of discipline is required. |
acidtalk: I can AUTHORITATIVELY tell you the car ISN'T for Iyanya. It is a big fat lie.Valid point. He may just have snapped it. And for God's sake, it came from a damn blogger. Since when did bloggers ever give un-biased accurate information? Nigerians. Poverty mentality since 1960. ![]() |
usermane: nd.gfx, do u read comic books?, where do u get your copiesTorrents mostly. Check here: www.h33t.com Goto to the comics section Cheers |
It so happens that i stumbled upon this thread by chance and as a comic nerd, i couldn't resist the urge to post. So here goes. On a whole, there're only 4 super power sets i want. 1.) Franklin Richards, Son of Reed Richards (Fantastic Four) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franklin_Richards Reality warping and bending. Resurrected Galactus once to fight off celestials. Fixed a dying sun. To name a few. 2.) Kid Omega, Quientin Quire http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kid_Omega 3.) Sentry, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentry_(Robert_Reynolds) Possesses the power of a million exploding suns 4.) David Charles Haller, aka Legion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legion_(Marvel_Comics)) If i can't have any of the above, then i'll simply be content with having Magnetos powers. Think he's weak? He's stopped the earth from spinning once and almost reversed it's polarity. Try scaling that for awesomeness. |
Pyguru= Python Guru? Possibly a low level hacker on this group if he's targeting u. |
JayKayMaybachz: T HAS BEEN CONFIRMED, FACEBOOK WILL END ON JANUARY 15th, 2013! Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in January of 2013. Managing the site has become too stressful. “Facebook has gotten out of control,” reportedly said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.” Zuckerberg reportedly went on to explain that starting January15th, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts. That gives users (and Facebook addicts)a year to adjjust to live without Facebook. “After January 15th, 2013 the whole Facebook website will shut down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them offthe internet. You won’t be able to get them back after Facebook goes out of business.” Zuckerberg said the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset. “I personally don’t think it’s a big deal,” he said in a private phone interview to a source close to a friend. “And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.” ![]() You, sir, are a sad, dull fellow....and you have my pity. |
Mynd_44: Tune away. SimpleSorry, but how is this a solution? |
A couple of days ago, i was in the living room with my mom watching Sound City and for the 15 minutes before i changed to another channel, i was utterly embarrassed to be watching the filth that we now call entertainment. Music videos with girls in various degrees of UnCloth, guys singing about money, crime, wanton sex and general youthful waste, profane languages flying about uncut and uncensored....where have our morals and values flown to? How did it get this bad? Looking back, i remember how Femi Kuti's "BANG BANG BANG" was banned from getting airplay on radios and TV just for mentioning sensual parts of the female anatomy. He went ahead to receive global acclaim but here in Nigeria, we all cried blue-murder. Many groups came out to voice out their concerns about the lyrics and bla bla bla...the matter died down and life went on. Fast forward couple of years and what do we have? Artists who claim to want to reach out to the man on the street but flaunt their wealth(?) and their "swagger" on tv and sing songs with little or no meaningful content. Mass Media has successfully The main reason why i'm writing this is because of what i saw that day and what has become an acceptable trend. I mean, sure if you wanna a song about how many women you've slept with or how tall your money stacks are, it's okay....it's a free world. But when what you do begins to negatively influence your immediate society, then there has to be ways to check that freedom. The children and youth of today mindlessly follow these ideas of loose morals and violence that they see online and on tv and accept them as norm. It's okay to objectify a lady and treat her like trash...as long as it's not your sister. It's okay for a lady to have multiple sex partners but she wants to shield her brother from it. It's ok for you to indulge and yell about not being judged but you're quickest to judge the moment an opportunity arises. It's okay to post your nudes online just to find out how many likes and retweets you get. Everything is right, individuality is always supreme. Soon, we'll switch on our tubes one day to scenes from a soft porn flick and it'll be Okay. I digressed abit. Now because of mass media and fame and celebrity we've endangered both our generation and the next. Our morals and inhibitions have gone out the window. What happened to good upbringing and culture and traditions and integrity and lessons of yester-years. Are we going to mortgage them all because we a.) want to find our own identity within the brand called proudly Nigeria (which isn't working, #justsoyouknow)? or b.) need to catch up with the ever advancing western-culture? THIS HAS TO STOP. To check this sort of trend, normally a committee or board has to be set up and i want to believe that it's already been set up. But where are they? They were unusually too eager to trump Femi Kuti but now (ahem, thanks to a lot of brown paperbags changing hands, ahem) they've all gone silent. And if we don't arise to our responsibilities as grown ups, then our actions would have more far-reaching consequences....like, you know, endangering the next five generations Ponder and respond |
niyivasaz: Well, me na bo..obs i dey see oooDude....it's BOOBS. Dont be shy, just type it loud and proud. BOOBS. I mean, think about it, wont it be surprising if you discovered 2 periods between a pair of boob? |
I'm gonna talk from the perspective of a victim of such boo-ing since I was one myself. From my experience, it bent me for years. I kept to myself, didn't have friends, cudnt adjust or communicate socially.....and it gets worse especially when the teacher picks on u continuously. so do pretty much of my early primary school years, I suffered this treatment... until my mother had to remove me after a teacher (with issues of her own) decorated my skin with lashes. its okay to encourage a competitive environment but not at the expense of a child's esteem or mental wellbeing. |
Ermegerd!!!! Another Pastor expressed an opinion. Sadly, we still live in a generation where people can't tell the difference between an baseless opinion and the gospel truth. oO well, moving on. |

Um, hi. Okay i'm not going to sell you anything (Lol). And i mean it I decided to take it upon myself to create tutorial webcasts on UI for website design. I did this because i felt that alot of web (especially UI) designers weren't getting it right and to help give up & coming web designers to get the basics. So far i've done 3 episodes so far and i intend to do more till i'm done with the subject before branching out to other fields of design. To watch, head on to www.vimeo.com/ndgfx www.vimeo.com/ndgfx . To post your questions, you can post on the video page or head on to https://www./pixelNinjas/ https://www./pixelNinjas/. Cheers |
I wish i could volunteer but i can't becos of, well, work (the usual excuse) and I'm not that much of a patriot *dodges pure water and laffing* #okChill |
First of all i want to thank the 40 webdesigners who invested their time and effort into identifying and responding to the problem of our country's image to the outside world. I'm sure it wasn't an easy task but at least results were achieved. Now that's out of the way, i can get on with critiquing. How did you not manage to squeeze in a REAL graphic designer into this project? As in, really!? I'll give you points for site organization and content, but visually, it's appalling. No visible design style, nothing memorable. It doesn't fully represent the very essence of the Nigeria & it's culture and there is no experience value to it. It doesn't look well thought out. In fact, chances are, you'd lose more first users on the first page. What i think?
[li]Get a professional UI designer. Infact get 2 UI designers and a UX designer/consultant. It shud help put the site in proper perspective. [/li] [li]Secondly, create a relateable experience. Something to ease the user into the site. Treat the user like the first timer he is. [/li]
This is not Jonathan-Sambo's site! Why shud that be the first thing i see? I do hope you and your team take most of the constructive critique posted here and goodluck pitching this to the FGN. Cheers |
Nah, not in Abuja at the moment But i'm very interested in what comes out of this, |

@oP When i first saw the title of this thread, my first instinct was to recommend Eyowo to you. Eyowo is an online payment gateway that allows you accept payments from your customers on your website with multiple payment options (Interswitch, Mastercard and Etranzact). And you can have it all with just one integration. It's cheap, easy to setup and use on your site. However, Let's be honest, #30k is insulting to every professional here. Infact, the best #30k can get you is the raw Photoshop design and that's because the person wants to do you a favor. And from a professional standpoint, whoever you're gonna hire isn't gonna take you seriously and would end up doing a crappy job for you, hurting whatever business idea / model you have. Do the smart thing. Bump up your dole out money, hire a talented professional who can get committed to your idea and get it done on time. Money is a great motivator. #JSYK |
Like us of facebook : https://www.facebook.com/Eyowo and follow us on twitter @eyowo |
astronp8:No, we don't offer implementation services. You'd have to talk to a developer for this. (NOTE: A Web developer proficient in a web scripting language) As for your second question, Corporate accounts are allowed not savings. Cheers |
bouzymill2:Thanks for this, JSYK we multitask and we're good at it ![]() Cheers |
