dunkem21:This does not violate any CBN guideline. Here is an example of fraudulent activities which violate CBN guidelines and other laws, in case you are confused: Cecilia Ibru, former CEO of Oceanic Bank, pleaded guilty to three of 25 counts of fraud and mismanagement.more... Lagos — Aggrieved shareholders of the defunct Oceanic Bank is asking the Federal High Court in Lagos to order the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) to return the N191 billion worth of assets forfeited by Cecelia Ibru back to the bank. |
dunkem21:This post smacks of ignorance. If the bank deems Buhari as a low risk customer and gives him such a loan, that is the bank's business and not yours. This is quite different from the billion naira loans which violated CBN guidelines and bankrupted several people. |
This is a very insensitive topic for the FP. Imagine what sorrow the man will feel when he sees this on NL. |
Gullible Nigerians will believe anything the same way they believed that Sanusi's brother was named Emir of Kano when PDP agents planted the story in Vanguard a few months ago. Nwanne, this story is false. |
The only crime Fashola seems to have committed is being a Muslim according to many bigots on NL. Many Nigerians do not care whether Fashola is Hindu, Atheist, or Traditionalist - they simply appreciate his performance. Insha Allah, Buhari will rule for 4 years and hand over a clean, less corrupt administration to younger candidates like El-Rufai, Fashola, Amaechi, or even our esteemed Emir, Sanusi. SMH @ the NL religious bigots |
Obinoscopy is hereby named "One Chance Obino" just for this thread. We dey watch and read. |
Following the blueprint of the civil rights abusers in the armed forces, who victimize innocent citizens by arresting them and imprisoning them without trial, this ogbanje Sarki has joined the foolishness of his paymasters. He has organized the rounding up of Nigerians who have exercised their rights to free movement by going the the South West to seek employment and decent livelihood. He now went to Abuja to report his own attrocities and his fellow criminals in government positions will compensate him with Cash. Both the Sarki and the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs should be arrested and jailed immediately. The fools are actually breeding brand new enemies of the state. The boys shown in the picture should be given the opportunity of having a good life instead of rounding them up without authority, in another blatant violation of their human rights. nansense! |
Balyz:Why would this constitutional provision remove your attachment to your land? Land ownership is not affected by this. Even with your attachment to your ancestral land, anyone with money can come and buy any piece of it today - that will not change with this new constitutional provision. On a brighter note, it will eliminated discrimination against people born in any state as far as benefits accorded to indigenes go. No one should feel threatened by less discrimination. I think you misunderstood the provision because you wrote "...but making state of residence that of origin, is detrimental to our way of life as africans." The provision contains no such stipulation. For now, it affects people who are born in a particular state, not those who reside there. |
baccaspace:oga, after the implementation of the new provisions, you'd be a Lagos indigene who can still trace his roots to Ijawland. |
I implore posters to try to stay above the political fray whicle discusing this important issue. It makes no sense whatsoever for someone born in a particular state not to be accorded the same rights as other indigenes of a state. The next phase is to establish reasonable residency requirements, wherein, if you've lived in a state for a particular time period, you'd be entitled to the same rights accorded to the indigenes of that state. We worked to get that provision in, this time around, but awon Olote blocked it. By the way, Buhari is in full support of such a residency provision while GEJ's people worked feverishly to have it excluded. |
Balyz:Its too late buddy. This provision will make it into the constitution of this great country - the deal has been consumated. ![]() |
Caseless:I'm OK with baby steps. This go around if you are born in a particular state then you will be an indigene of that state. Hopefully next go around will include residency provisions which are desprately needed for forward progress. |
If none of the recently adopted amendments to our constitution is ultimately adopted, I'll be satisfied with the adoption of this singular provision, which was also approved: a citizen of Nigeria is an indigene of a particular community of a state in Nigeria if he was born in that state Some of us fought very hard during the constitutional review committee hearings to get that provision in the final prodI congratulate all of my partners who fought in their own little way to make this possible. It is a first step towards eradicating unnecessary discrimination, archaic custom and tradition which has kept us in the stone ages. The time will come very soon when Chukwuma will become the Governor of Lagos and a Shekaru can become the Governor of Abia. Long Live this great country!! |
The Reps approved 71 recommendations which came from the Constitutional Review Commitee and completely ignored GEJ and the National Conference recommendations. This concludes that the formation of the National Conference was nothing but a sham - a disgrace to its participants. The billions of naira wasted on the conference could have been used on real poverty eradication programs which could save lives. |
If we use our imagination to project traffic patterns in the area, say 5 - 10 years from now , factoring in population growth and explosive number of vehicles which will be on the road then, we may very well see the value in this project. |

These are the kinds of blatant child and human rights abuses which cause countries such as the USA to be careful about selling Arms to us. SMH |

Sir Cramjones, this attack on Islam is an exercise in futility and is absolutely unnecessary. Why fight a losing battle na? It is quite foolish to work fervently to make enemies out of folks who may otherwise be fans of yours. |
Ah Ah!! Must you people wound me with laughter? una just make me spill the last glass of wine before I sleep. nansense. www.nairaland.com/attachments/229503_ROFLMAODog_gif3fa44b12f55ba64fc785c3a5794ba92e |
LMAyedun:Actually, the bolded text above which you claim is factual, is false. The only fact here is that you allowed your prejudices to becloud your better judgement. The people behind the most wicked attrocities known to man including Hiter, Talat Pasha, Josef Mengele, Reinhard Heydrich, Kim Il Sung, Emperor Hirohito, did not hide under Islam to perpetrate their evil. (Google those names if you don't know who they are) Lets not forget the Crusades which were military campaigns sanctioned by the Latin Roman Catholic Church during the High Middle Ages and Late Middle Ages. That pope certainly did not hide under Islam. Evil people are evil, and they will hide under Islam, Christianity, and any other religion to perpetrate their crimes. True Islam and Christianity are religions of peace. Less than 0.0000001% of Christains or Moslems bastardize these religions by killing, maiming, defrauding innocent believers with fake miracles, and comitting other evil acts in the name of religion. Please put things in the proper perspective, else you'll inadvertently spread hate. Cheers |
Happy Birthday to you. Becomerichr (aka manck, aka musiwa 1..5400, ati be be lo) sends his love as well. ![]() |
Major General Olukolade, back your story up by producing Officer Chimda and shame the Boko Haram goats! If you can't do that, please give the family of this great Officer closure, some how. This is the least you can do for a fallen hero. If on the other hand you are lying to the public, may your own death be as dignified as that of Officer Chimda. Olukolade!!! 3X ,mgbo piafuka gi isi, if you are decieving the public. ![]() |
Have millitary officials confirmed that the man in the so-called video is our Pilot? May Allah severely punish all those stealing funds meant to buy superior equipment and who sentence our great soldiers, who dared to protest, to death. If true, dear hero of ours, fallen Pilot, May your gracious soul RIP |
Collynzo22: It is actually a 52 minute video.I've listened to the audio version of the so-called video, it appears to contain clips from old videos word-for-word. I will not be convinced until I see the full video. BTW why are they wasting time releasing the doggone full video? |
Mehinks this video was a pre-emptive one. I'm not fooled; that talkative will never make a 56 second video. |
