Collynzo17: I can read very well, you said whether boko haram or not their deaths are unnecessary, you even repeated in ar the end of that post.
This attitude is what made the boko haram menace to get to the level it is now. When they get killed you complain of high-handedness, when they are left to roam about freely, you say the govt is not doing anything.
With this kind of attitude, boko haram will not go anywhere even in the next 10 years
I remain unconvinced that those are Boko Haram members. They look like civilians to me.

Killing your opponent in a war or battle is legitimate, lynching is not.

Do we have air traffic controllers in Lagos at all? Do we have air security or our air space is just as porous as our land borders?

Why hasn't the aicraft sighted been identified and its owners questions? If na so e easy to willy nilly, fly fly around Nigeria, then we are in bigger trouble than we realize. SMH

Collynzo17: You guys can never be satisfied.
Do you prefer they are left to go around killing people?
What exactly do you northerners want?
Can you read at all? How can you conclude that anyone may prefer that Boko Haram members should be allowed to continue their killing spree? I am simply not convinced that the pictures we are seeing are not those of innocent civilians summarily labelled Boko Haram and killed, much like you people lynch many innocent Nigerians simply because someone shouts "Barawo", "Ole", or "Thief".

Eldavido1: If you are so certain he will loose, then no need to fret over his constitutional right to contest as attest by the high court ruling.
His constitutional right to contest in 2015 has not yet been confirmed by the Supreme court. Lets allow the judicial system to work - there are very strong constitutional arguments against GEJ on this issue.

Boko Haram members or not, these are our fellow country men, many of who have been manipulated and brainwashed by your leaders. Shame on all of you who are celebrating the unnecessay deaths of Nigerians, be they Task Force members or BH members.

Any Engineer worth his onions will tell you, if the video is accurate, that the collapse was an implosion, the type you see when dynamites are strategically placed within a building to bring it down.

The impolsion could have also been caused by bad Engineering/Construction methods and materials. Methinks the aircraft shown in the video had nothing to do with this terrible event.

I most certainly hope that the Jet was shot down and the pilot was able to successfuly eject. If this jet was flown by a rogue pilot then we are in deep shiit.

GEJ needs to urgently request the assistance of all our friends to find the crash site of this jet. If a crash site does not exist and a neighboring country allowed a rogue pilot to land the plane in its territory without informing us, then we must declare war against such a country. What nonsense!!

BH members, NA, or any of their sympathizers found guilty of these attrocities should be summarily handed the capital punishment. No one should get away with the cold blooded murder of any Nigerian regardless of the victim's tribe.

Nothing unusual about these coverups.

I will trust a report by AP or the huffingtonpost before I do many of our local reports. Major General Chris Olukolade should please tell Nigerians the names of the 10 generals who were being investigated.

The generals are NOT being investigated. They have been convicted!! What other investigation do you want to be concluded? The names of the generals should be revealed now!!

You mean this is the first time of hearing that these men are on trial for so long to establish their guilt beyond every reasonable doubt.

We heard about the investigation of the generals but not their conviction, at least I did not read about which generals were convicted or their names.

Politics › 10 Generals Guilty Of Arming Boko Haram by nduchucks(op):
KADUNA, Nigeria (AP) — Ten generals and five other senior military officers were found guilty in courts-martial of providing arms and information to Boko Haram extremists, a leading Nigerian newspaper reported Tuesday.

The news follows months of allegations from politicians and soldiers who have told The Associated Press that some senior officers were helping the Islamic extremists and that some rank-and-file soldiers even fight alongside the insurgents and then return to army camps. They have said that information provided by army officers has helped insurgents in ambushing military convoys and in attacks on army barracks and outposts in their northeastern stronghold.

Leadership newspaper quoted one officer saying that four other officers, in addition to the 15, were found guilty of "being disloyal and for working for the members of the sect."

Read the rest of the story here
These treasonable attrocities were taking place during Ihejirika's tenure but not a single general was accused let alone convicted. Thankfully the current Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Minimah led investigations and conviction of the generals.

The question now is, why have they not publicized the names of these convicted Generals and shamed them? I suspect that 2 or 3 of the generals may come from the usual tribe and the Army is afraid of reprisals such as the 1960s pogroms.

Politics › Re: U.S. Pentagon Finalizes Plan To Fight Boko Haram -by Attorney Patryk Utulu (USA) by nduchucks: 8:07am On Sep 08, 2014
The U.S. is concerned the Nigerian Islamist militant group Boko Haram may try to attack a key city in the northeast of Africa’s biggest oil producer, Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Linda Thomas-Greenfield said.

On Sept. 2, Boko Haram captured the northeastern town of Bama, about 72 kilometers (45 miles) southeast of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, a senator representing the region said. That came less than two weeks after the group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, declared the town of Gwoza, also in Borno, a “caliphate under Islamic law.”

“We are very troubled by the apparent capture of Bama and the prospects for an attack on and in Maiduguri, which would impose a tremendous toll on the civilian population,” Thomas-Greenfield said in remarks e-mailed by the U.S. Embassy in the capital, Abuja, where she’s on an official visit.

Boko Haram, which has been battling the Nigerian state since 2009, killed more than 2,000 people in the first half of this year in an escalating campaign of bomb and gun attacks, according to New York-based Human Rights Watch. More than 350,000 people in the northeastern states where the violence is fiercest fled their homes in the first seven months, according to the National Emergency Management Agency.

The U.S. will soon announce a major border security program involving Nigeria and neighboring Cameroon, Chad, and Niger, Thomas-Greenfield said.

“Boko Haram has shown that it can operate not only in the northeast, but in Kano, in Abuja, and elsewhere,” Greenfield said. “The frequency and scope of Boko Haram’s terror attacks have grown more acute and constitute a serious threat to this country’s overall security.”

Who dug this up? That was almost 4years ago!!

Istead of dealing with BH, our Commander-In-Chief and his agents have allowed the group to become the most powerful insurgent group in West Africa and beyound.

Now let's see:

(1) Asari was arrested in Benin Republic for alleged links to BH; the President intervened on his behalf and flew him back to Abuja in a Presidential plane, we are told.

(2)Ihejirika is accused of being a BH sponsor, one of the the President's agency absolved him completely in a Kangaroo investigation

(3)One Wakil, who is of Igbo parentage presented herself as a mother figure of Boko Haram adherents.

on and on and on.

There may be a pattern here. SMH

tit: i am confuse.
which one did Ihejirika do?
1) kill boko haram in war crimes
2) sponsor boko haram to kill moslims.
Stop pretending to be confused, we know better.

Decent people should ask for investigations when war crimes are perpetrated in thier names. The attrocities below took place and documented under Ihejirika's watch. If Ihejirika is found to have beenn involved, he and other guilty parties should be brough to book. das all. I have no sympathy for anyone who thinks the lifes of Nigerians can be taken at will without due process of the law.

Tit, why are you opposed to investigating these war crimes and punishing the culprits even if they include a former COAS?

As for the BH criminals who have declared a war against this great nation, they will be summarily defeated once our Commander-in-chief decides to take decisive action.

Ngwakwe: Who will testify against Ihejirika in ICC?
The same question was asked about Charles Taylor by his tribesmen, so did Joseph Mpambar's tribesmen in Rwanda before those folks were convicted. You better hope that Ihejirika is not guilty of these allegations, because if he is, he will surely pay.

BTW: How is he financing his campaign for Governor? From his savings or retirement funds as COAS? Some would suggest that he is a thief on top of being a suspected war criminal.

Not all lawyers give the profession a bad name by shamelessly defending alleged criminals who perpetrated war crimes against defenseless Nigerians.

We shall not stop until those responsible for the attrocities are punished.
