JESHAL007: In western societies with gynocentric laws that don't favour men, you don't have the luxury of getting the "good woman" because the laws incentives bad behaviour in women, simply put you can't find a quality wife there, I don't care how religious she is, but in fairly conservative societies like patriarchal Africa, you can get away with the "good girl myth" because the culture isn't yet "woke" unlike liberal societies. I understand man. There are exceptions bro. it's ok. Thanks. I made my point. |

Anyone who's good at math will agree that there are exceptions in every math data X/0 is a very common math ratio which shows exception My point is, there's nothing like NAWALT vibe NAWALT is real AWALT isn't always true . make you no go treat good woman bad Ajeh |

predictor1: Shadow ko Spectre ni. It would surprise you that Lagos will thrive more when Nigeria divides and we have to tax foreigners more. Many of your people can never leave the SW. Again , Necessity is the mother of invention. Go and read about Philadelphia in the 1800s and early 1900s and what its like Today compared to then. |

predictor1: You don't know what you are saying. When the capital was shifted away from Lagos, many believed Lagos would be affected. How market? You think if Nigeria splits hausas, ibos will just up and go like that. No, many will still maintain their operations there because of the population and geographical factors. The East and the north are not favoured geographically. Or you think someone like Dangote will just take his refinery and go. Lagos State is still having hangover from the 77 years federal presence as FCT if Nigeria divides Lagos will be a major hit! necessity is the mother of invention Lagos will be the shadow of itself if Nigeria divides |

predictor1: If Nigeria divides Lagos will still thrive. It's the financial hub of West Africa. A lot of investment has been planted there. In fact, even Ibos will find it very difficult to leave Lagos if Nigeria divides. I wonder which kind of schools you go to in the East. you're delusional to think Lagos won't be affected Go and check what warri was like in the 80s and early 90s those oil cooperation headquarters were there Lagos heads the branch of almost all firms in Nigeria if Nigeria divided no country will accept any major company headquarters outside the shores of Thier country |

Starboytwo: so if everybody go their way, where Lagos go join? East, west, north?? you realise Lagos is what is today not because of the LAND the people there are what is the real deal Lagos just like everywhere isn't just concretes, glass and metals but the people if Nigeria divided Lagos Will be the shadow of itself necessity is the mother of invention |

Starboytwo: Plus Lagos nko? it's still a shit hole! just a manageable one Lagos isn't built by SW people alone so you people don't have right to take COMPLETE credit about it's viability it was capital from 1914-1991 that's a whooping 77 years! If you doubt the influence of what FCT does go and check Abuja before 1991 if we talk about SE we talk about the largest market in west Africa in Anambra Huge industrial hub in Abia with another large market Ariaria market one of the largest in Nigeria The Real estate hub of Nigeria Enugu and it's beautiful cold mountainous terrain Imo is the educational hub of Nigeria and 4th largest economy in Nigeria the fact two SE states sits above your O-states shows how viable their economy is Again apart from Lagos which To fair everyone built SW is one poor region no cap if we are to account for the states that have Igbos in them it will be bloody

Goodvibes007: Are you minding that guy. He was lying with so much with confidence. SW is the next oil rich region after SS. In addition, SW has the richest household and it's economy leads in internal revenue generation as well. The reason why the SE who move to SW to do business succeed is because of the spending power of the SW, else they would have stayed back in their region and sell to themselves. garbage 🗑️ SE is by far the richest region SE dominates the rich and mid class of Nigeria SE are the most literated SE has the lowest amount of out of school children SE is the most urbanized region in Nigeria keep living in denial minus Lagos SW is a sh!thole

illicit: Yeah
That's why I said 'usually'
Some words are just used because of its popular usage and acceptability
But when u borrow a thing from a language, u often borrow the name with it, for example Pressing iron, in Yoruba it is still "Iron"
Table is still Table or "Tabili'
Sugar is sugar
Block is block
Pure water is usually pure water
There is also agglutination, etc true |

illicit: Ok now
When u loan a word from a language to call something
It usually means that that same thing was not present in your environment before
It's usually that you borrowed that thing and the name it's called
If you have that thing before, you will have a name for it
To the best of my knowledge, the benins used to have Ogiso, which is a duke
When Yoruba introduced Kingship to them, the name came with it Not necessarily true For example I can say " That's your mom over there ọkwa ya? But I always prefer saying That's your mom over there abi? Abi is Yoruba word and ọkwa ya is igbo word for same thing 'right' It's just convinience I have seen Yorubas saying Biko alot that doesn't mean they don't have a word for 'please' It's just convnience. Again I might be wrong one thing I'm sure tho is oduduwa can not fall from the sky who knows Binis might be right saying he's Thier son . Binis might be wrong too sha who knows |

illicit: You are diverging
Does Oba mean anything in Benin Language
It's either yes or no
Talking about Igbo Language is very irrelevant here
Because Oba in Igbo doesn't mean what it means in Benin or Yoruba, so it's out of point
In Yoruba, O - ba means King, he who presides...
In Benin, explain how oba means King, simple
I am a Linguist If you're a linguist you'd know that Words can be borrowed from people you've made contact with and doesn't necessarily means they don't have a word for it . They just prefer to use the borrowed word I had a conversation about this topic with my friend yesterday . He's actually a linguist , He said it's absolutely possible to replace a local word by a borrowed word from another neighbouring language. According to him it's called Lexical replacement or loan word replacement. It happens alot especially with society you've come in contact with and it's the basis of English language . English is 80+% loanwords! So what's the fuss about. |

illicit: So what does oba mean in Benin Morphology
Explain pls You realise bini and other languages of southern Nigeria are from the Niger-Congo language family And yes there are converging linguistic links here and there For example Oba in ìgbo means Barn for yams and other produces Obà still means that plant used in making calabash So don't brag about origin of word with people you're in same language family with It ight mean something in their language you never can tell If na lie ask any Igbo person wetin Olaniyi means in Igbo you'll be shocked |
