muchroom: Living in Bondage "started" Nollywood? I bet to differ unless Kenneth's definition of Nollywood is Igbo film. Decades before living in bondage, thousands filled Nigerian theaters to watch movies like Orun mu oru(There is heat in Heaven), Mosebolatan(I though wealth was finished),Taxi Driver and more. See this mumu too. Living in Bondage started Nollywood to you too. Ode! When you won't try to learn about history of everything around you, how will you not come here to disgrace yourself. You wanna quote me shey. Oya now. Quote me make Ayelala featuring Amadioha fall on you. This movie in question was produced 1991. Nollywood is far older than that. Use your brain. It's not a mere design God just put inside your skull. It is meant to be used. So to you and your other foolish kinsmen, VHS started Nollywood. Mumuness of the highest order. |

luvinhubby: Baba sala was more of a tv comedy series, chief Hubert Ogunde was more of stage drama, Ade love was produced for tvs mainly. Living in bondage was done as a commercial project and distributed as a home movie, the commercialisation was the intro into the movie world in Nigeria.
You do not know me, so stop referring to me as 'young one'. So to you now, Nollywood means home video. . You be professional fool i swear. Ayelala is on your case. Ode oshi! Read this below. Definition of which films are considered Nollywood has always been a subject of debate. Alex Eyengho defined Nollywood as "the totality of activities taking place in the Nigerian film industry, be it in English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Itsekiri, Edo, Efik, Ijaw, Urhobo or any other of the over 300 Nigerian languages". He further stated that "the historical trajectory of Nollywood started since the pre and post independent Nigeria, with the theatrical (stage) and cinematic (celluloid)) efforts of the likes of Chief Hubert Ogunde, Chief Amata, Baba Sala, Ade Love, Eddie Ugboma and a few others" |

Businessideas: You see. That is the problem with you young ones, lack of humility. I just mentioned and listed films that are Nigerian films even with national popularity and you can easily and humbly read about them online. There are films like Block busters like Aiye by Hubert Ogunde Group,Taxi Driver by Ade Love the father of the popular Afolayan brothers, Duro Ladipo group that were the awada kerikeri group, Baba Sala with that film he was shown committing suicide in a train track and so many other films of Nigerian actors and theater you may be too young to know and can easily read on. Nollywood never started with living in bondage and it is pure ignorance to say that publicly. The English-Igbo genre of Nigerian films came to the table very very very late and that's why it lacked depth like the preexisting genre of Nigerian films led by the Hubert Ogunde et al. I just corrected and educated you with love Thank you sir. I know the flat heads will take everything to be tribalisim. But don't mind them sir. Only the cool ones living in the west have manners and sense. The core eastern ones lack a lot of things. Manners and sense included. |

It's surprising to U, I know but that's what D Yoruba history says so we just have to go with it.
As for the wall. Edo nor get wall, like D normal wall we all know, Edo has ramparts & moat that's all.
For ur notice, I'm not Edo. Bro! Sons for where? I know the history of Yoruba very well and I have never read it in any history that we the Yorubas have anything to do with Benin people except for this issue of Oranmiyan who ruled them and gave them their present King lineage. I believe Wikipedia is still there as my witness and not reference. I already knew the history of yoruba very well before the internet penetration. |

Ah ah. This Benin people can lie en! I don't think you guys know what 16,000 kilometers is sha. Measure Nigeria from the north to the south and from the west to the east. It's not even up to your made up number. Morealso, you guys said it's 4 times the wall of China. Ah ahhhh! Fear God now. Is the wall underground or is it spiritual as always? You may want to say "blah blah blah Benin empire almost covered the whole Africa." Fùck that!!!
No matter how ruined the wall has become, even if it has been ruined for 100 years, there will still be paths and evidences of it's existence. Kindly come and show us Biko. Una too dey lie abeg.
If the so claimed Benin Empire was so great. How come you guys are so little now en? You guys claimed to once be an empire but you currently only occupy one small state that is a little bit bigger than Ibadan. Where did the empire go? Or were you guys divided like a cake?
You also always claim Yoruba was under your empire before. Let's do the math pls. How come Yoruba has 6 and a half states and you guys can only boast of one? We ve heard it a million times that you once conquered lagos blah blah blah but what happened? Awwww! Now i know. You guys lost the precious Lagos right? But come to think of it. How?
Lastly. If you guys were that progressive during your Benin Empire Bullshít era. Why are your towns and even your cities still acient? Still stuck to the old ways and stuff. Don't get fussy about this. Answer the questions or else no assholé should quote me. |

x240: you are one of the reasons many Nigerians don't own up to mistakes.
It takes someone intelligent to make a mistake and try and correct it but it shows how shitty another person is who can't help but find a way to judge people and rain invectives.
Your type just come online and make mouth and frost. See you threatening fire and brimstone over something you could school him over gently. Asking for headship ain't about insecurity. It's a result of what the environment, society, culture and religion dictate. He who pays the piper, dictates the tune. More reason we need to abolish all these bride price, women not contributing to the family resources thing so they can effectively have a say and get marriages to be a team efforr not the he is the man and needs to do the all in all.
No one is holding brief for him but both men and women are actually guilty of pushing such narratives that the man is always right and the woman with her idiosyncrasies cannot be trusted with decisions. As much as that is not true the many examples of women letting their emotions cloud their judgment fuels such belief systems. It is a known fact that most ladies are risk averse and would prefer the "man" make the decisions.
It would take a lot of time to change the perception but we can all do more by training our boys that yeah they have advantages in some areas but the opposite sex also have skills that can be used in achieving greter results in a home. That's more pragmatic than all you i have not seen a man born or whatever you keep spitting up there. The problem of marriages that we have currently stems from the advices and views of you extreme lefties and righties in both the male and female camp who believe in absolutes and don't see things the way they are.
Young single ladies should take the more pragmatic approcach. You can't remove decades of nuture and environmental stereotypes out of him in a day. Else you would just be jumping from one guy to the other. Men aren't robots that you can't speak to and mold their outlook towards life. Bros!!! Kneel down and let me pray for you. Like seriously. There is no need to pity this people in anyway. This is obviously their fault. If you check those pictures very well, you will notice the water is just stagnant and not flowing. That's because they have no drainage system. Not a single gutter is on that street. For the landlords to come together and have a meeting on how to make their neighbourhood more conducive is always a problem. All they do meeting on is how to increase house rents. How much does it wanna cost them to dig a gutter. Apart from this, there are so many other streets with gutters that are filled with waste, sand and so many other things. when rain comes and this above scenario repeats itself, it's either they blame the govt or God. You see these things mad people do? We do it most times we are alone but that doesn't make us mad.
Why?
Because we know were and when to do it.
Talking about hypocrisy, You ladies are the real hypocrites here. A man is the head of the home by default and I will tell you how to be the head if you so desire but before then I will like you to understand that this headship is not about having the upper hand nor is it to mean that a woman has no rights or is a second class citizen.
That said, if you desire to be the head of the home.
Please make money, build house or rent an apparment, come and marry us "Africanly and churchily", do the hard works and check the door when robbers knock at night and we will happily be loyal to you.
Until then, it's either you look for a husband that shares your views on marriage or better still don't marry at all. Wherever you are right now, just kneel and let me pray for you. You shall be uplifted far more than your competitors in life. You shall never lack a single good thing in life as from today. eyeview: First of all, who Is mercy aigbe and what is she known for ? Sounds like a female athlete that represented Nigeria sometime ago. Is she the one?
Is she an actress or what?
Meanwhile, always wait till u hear the man's side. I once had a neighbour, a peace loving medical doctor. Whenever he had a misunderstanding with the wife, she will quickly run and change into a bum short and pounce on him. You will see the poor man running to get out of his own house. Sometimes, she will be hurling stones at his windscreen while he speeds off. But sometimes when the poor man cant take the attacks and abuse, he will beat her up to defend himself and the same lioness will be quick to snap her wounds and send out, forming the victim.
I have a friend who is suffering all forms of abuse in the wife's hands, yet it's the wife that goes to family, friends, colleagues, church members and even the police to act like the victim and paint the man as evil. But once you know the truth, the wife will blacklist you and turn you to enemy. My friend, an almost 40 year old will call me and be crying.
Most of these girls actually launch the attack and when the man retaliates, she start forming victim and inexperienced people and feminist-wanna-be will start quoting principle.
I know someone who was constantly having issues with the wife. One day in church, he gave his life to Christ and swore that he would work on his marriage and would never raise his hands on his wife again. The wife heard it and thereafter, at the slightest provocation, she will launch her beating on him. God bless you for this post sir. I just don't know why whenever something like this happens in this country this days. Nobody will want to hear the man's part. Men also suffer domestic violence too. |
