Please I have passport expiring by 20th march.

Now I have gotten admission and will likely be submitting my details by June.

Now my question is, since I'd likely have 9months validity from submission date, hope it won't affect my UDI application?

Someone said that we must have 18months passport validity before applying to UDI.

Please who knows much about this

Generally to all who applied last year, you have taken the bold step and I believe your admission letters are being prepared. I wish I was here earlier to advice during the admission rounds, nevertheless like they say "better late than never".
Am sure most of you had multiple applications, because not every where in Norway is "okay" from my experience. Just like Nigeria, location plays a big role, you can't compare Lagos to Kwara or ebonyi (I mean no disrespect).
Thus, if you have applications sent to UIO,OSLOMET,UIS,UIB,NMBU maybe NTNU and UIA kindly prioritize accepting their admission over any other schools. These areas are developed or in close proximity to developed cities.
Please if you will borrow, go for interest free loans (it could really be difficult in the first 3months of your stay getting a job especially if you're not staying in Oslo or Stavanger).
In all, Norway is a good place and I will encourage anyone to come but have a "plan" (it's not so easy staying back after graduation tbh).
This is my little inexhaustive contribution. I'll try to reply some "important" questions because most of the questions asked here have already been answered in the thread, some people just find it difficult reading previous pages.

Sept ooo!! I called the school directly and gave them ref number. Apparently the response was supposed to be for May intakes. After much clarifications, the lady promised to help out and get it sorted out.

Hy guys I applied to Ulster university Birmingham and received their general conditional offer. I was asked to submit some of the files, which I have already uploaded on my dashboard.

Now I replied with the required file and I got a rejection response from someone that the sch is no longer issuing conditional offer or accepting payments again.

PS: The person was not in the copy of the mail, but he replied with his official mail Id. Also I copied QA.Africa.com(regional branch) while sending the mail.

Who knows anything about Ulster Birmingham campus. I dey confused now

I used this when I applied in 2018. What I did was to supply evidence of the establishment of the esusu: an email sent to everybody taking part in the esusu showing the rotational order of payout. Then I used my salary account statement showing the debits for the monthly esusu evidencing payments I made to other esusu contributors throughout the period up until I received my own esusu payout. Then I explained it all in the LOE. I would recommend you do the same.

That means that you only need a reference letter from Company A, in your letter itemize the positions you occupied in the two companies stating the duration and Job roles. Maybe you do need the LOE after all....try and make it as easy to follow as possible.

What I still don't fully understand is, how come when you were initially employed, Company A gave you a letter with your duties which you'll be carrying out in company B1 and B2 ....but now they are declining to give you a ref letter (basically the same type of letter) with JD for EE?

Anyway, the ideal (to me) is to have have all docs from Company A. If this is impossible, absolutely impossible and you have exhausted all channels, then present what you have, add a crystal clear LOE and pray for the best.

Anyone else with this type of work arrangement? Please help!
The B1 and B2 are contractors(kind of outsourcing Companies) in which they always put employees after recruiting. I still perform my duties for the company A. Just that I receive salary frm the B1(then) nd B2(now). We don't know them. And Company A bluntly told me that anything pertaining to ref letter would be from B1 and B2.

If the companies are different (companies B1 and B2) and I was a VO I would be suspicious that they have the same JD....no matter how similar the roles, I don't think any two companies can have the exact same JD.

Remember a LOE should make things clearer to a VO, not confuse him further! I thought companies B1 and B2 were already writing your JD why are you mentioning company A?

IRCC doesn't ask us to specify what type of staff we are (as far as I know), just follow the IRCC guidelines on hours, pay duties etc...remember the checklist should be your second bible.

The VO will not know that a person's duties includes taking phone calls, responding to emails and welcoming visitors if it is not listed in their JD.

Regarding having duties in the JD that are not in the NOC, I suspect this isn't an issue if they are few e.g. 1 or 2 but if they are many, is it possible the VO may wonder if another NOC is better suited than the one the applicant chose? Perhaps.

Please, these are just my views, I am not a VO, just a fellow applicant.

Please there is one more thing I need your help for. Since I was moved from one contract company to another, I need two ref letter to cover the period.
My questions are;

1. Can I submit the same JD for the two companies? (Ideally I performed the same role all through, but I expect that two different companies cannot type the same JD. Otherwise they will know I prepared it for them) What is your take?

2. should I put a clause that I was seconded to Company A in both ref letter to show a synergy. And probably have a LOE to explain the situation,(how my company moves us to different contractors) while maintaining same JDs for the two letter.

3. Since we are contract staff, should I use contract staff or full time/ permanent employment ?

Nedu, please take my comments with a pinch of salt. This is just personal opinion and I may be wrong.

1. the first question that came to mind when I read your JD is: "is this guy a travel agent?" - note that the travel agent NOC is 6521 which is skill level C and not eligible for EE.

2. For 1211 you have identified 3 out of the 8 NOC duties; 38%.......maybe not such a good match

3. For 1241 you have identified 6 out of the 13 NOC duties - or 10 NOC duties if we disregard the ones starting with "may" - may I suggest you review the NOC again and ask your employer to include any duties that you actually perform, which have not been included in your JD. For example, I imagine you welcome visitors, take minutes of meeetings, respond to emails, file things etc. I have marked these in red below.

I actually lifted this JD from my CV, and also there are some duties in 1241 which I perform as you rightly noted that wasn't listed there.

Please I need insight on this issue of copying of Noc. I really don't want to tailor all my JD to the noc and it will now be plagiarism.

Also, can some JDs exist in someone's role without it being in duties expected of a particular Noc code?

Interesting arrangement. If A performed interviews, they will likely be conversant with your duties, hours and pay especially if you have
no direct contact with B1 and B2. Other option is for your direct supervisor to do the ref letter. Hopefully his/her ID/call card has the same entity and the one you are listing as your employer on your MyCIC profile. Good luck with it.

Advice re NOC is....label your JD with numbered NOC duties and share here please.... there is safety when there are many advisers.

It would make sense for Company A to insist that the contractors i.e. Company B1 and B2 write the ref letter if, for example, they are an employment agency, like Adecco, which finds work for people and then sub contract the people to work for different firms. Is this the case?

If you were working the minimum number of hours when the contracts were being renegotiated and if you were still being paid, this work experience is valid and you may need to ask/beg/grovel for these periods to also be covered in your ref letter: Oct 2018 to Dec 2018 & Nov 2019 to Dec 2019.

If they absolutely refuse, you may need to just work a fee more months under contract to make up the gap.

I'm taking it for granted that said letter already includes job duties that are consistent with chosen NOC.

Thing is, they are not like the employment agencies. Company A conducts all the interviews and process, just the salary comes from B. I don't even know anyone there. We receive our pay slip from them via email.

I have a friend in HR which might help me to talk to them about it as they deal directly with the contractors. Another thing is that I think the company B1 does not exist again( I feel it is a company that Company A created for payment of salary to avoid union stuffs, it was dissolved after some issues with staff) But B2 still exist and not linked to the Coy A

For the Noc, it has been the same all the while. I would still send something regarding that to you. Though I Pm(ed) you earlier today so we can discuss it.

Good morning All.

Please someone should help me and analyze this situation. I have 3 years experience with my company (excluding NYSC)

Started Nov 6 2017 till date. (3 years)

The thing is, I work for company A(conducted interview and all) but company B pays me(contract staff). Even at that, the company B re-news our contract every year(but the contract letter clearly show period of 11 months---Reason being that Coy A doesn't want to pay some benefits).

Another thing, is that we are being moved to different Contractors, like I have been moved so far to two different ones with period of 11 months showing in each contract letter!

Company B1: Nov 6th 2017 to Oct 5th 2018
Company B2: 21 Dec 2018 to 20 Nov 2019
Company B2(same as above): 23rd Dec 2019 to 22nd Nov 2020.

Hence, the gap!

Furthermore, there is a waiting period(probably a month or two) before a new contract will be drafted, and it is not always counted or backdated and as such, it may hamper claiming points within those gaps(We always work till it is renewed o)

Please seniors, how do you advise I should go about this.
PS: I was told by Company A that I have to get ref letter from the contractors embarassed

Well, had my speaking test last week. Was via a laptop. Use nose mask. I think it's part of the mail, not sure though. There r lots of precautionary routine they will make you go through e.g sanitizer, hand washing etc. Generally smooth and cool although.

19th june: Received a mail from idp Australia advising I wait for at least one week to allow the Nigerian office send my request.
23rd june: Received a mail from the Nigerian office that my request has been forwarded to Australia.
24th june: Received a mail from Australia that they've received my request.
2nd july: got another mail from Australia that my case has been resolved.
3rd july: got a mail from the Nigerian office along with a refund form.

I checked online and there was an upgrade in writing from 6.0 to 6.5, other components remained the same. It took 14 days from application mainly because I requested a remark in all the components. I wasn't really expecting much because my word count in writing task 2 wasn't up to 250. I wrote another test on 11th june, but I didn't finish reading. I answered only 37 questions.

I am new here and have gone through page one but somethings are still confusing.
I couldn't see my Job role/tittle on the list on Australian website. Does it mean it is not for everyone
Below are my details;

Job designation: Administrative/ticketing Officer(job role is more of admin assistant)
Age(27):30 points
Degree (Bsc):15 points
Ielts LRSW 8.5,7.5,6.5 and 7 (speaking is 6.5)...can be improved to get 10 points
Experience 3yrs plus = 5 points
Total = 50 for now, hoping for 10 extra points

Also vantessa website still doesn't show this.

I already know this certificate will work, it is quite cheap and easy. It took me 5 days to prepare for the 3 papers. The total cost is around 100k certificate included.

I will add mine after the lockdown.

I just got an email from IELTS MOD that the result of those with successful EOR will be printed after the lockdown and we are all quite aware that this lockdown, especially in Lagos, doesn't have an end in sight. The thing here is that most of us just need to know the new scores and I heard on this forum that they usually update the online scores so why don't they want to do that now even when I suggested the idea. A friend even told me that some countries send IELTS scores using SMS. The funny thing is that you can still request for an EOR presently; isn't that double standard. Why is it that organizations in Nigeria enjoy making simple processes complex for Nigerians? I might have a wrong perspective concerning this situation tho and I stand to be corrected. Please, guys, don't take this serious o, I'm just ranting... #StaySafe
They should have uploaded it or better still scan and send along withr the refund form.
