Politics / Re: Tribunal Nullifies Bayelsa Governorship Election by nedu89: 2:08pm On Aug 17, 2020
I have read with utmost regret that some of us still doesn't understand politics and the judiciary processes. The tribunal sitting in Bayelsa gave verdict on 3 petitions before them on Saturday and that doesn't mean that's the only petition on their table, they have many so they take it one after the other. The supreme Court judgement was a pre-election case and can't stop the tribunal from sitting. Gov. Diri still remains the Governor until he exhaust all judicial alternative at his disposal

THE INGENUITY OF NIGERIA LEADERS BY EBERE CHINEDU

It's no longer news that the world was threw into a state of confusion when the issue of Covid 19 first came to public domain. There was a lot of conspiracy theories and counter theories. Many was the opinion that it's a deliberate act from China, trying to show their supremacy on world politics and trying to outplay USA, others was of the opinion that it's a calculated attempts to cripple the world economy. Another school of thought was also of the opinion that Bill Gate is working on his human intelligence and he wants to implant Chips in people's body, so that he can have access to their thinking and behaviors.

Our religious bodies wasn't left out as they see it as a sign of end time, marking the presence of the mark of the beast.
But in all these, the economy of the world was in a standstill as almost all the countries shutdown every aspect of their life. The result of that had tremendous negative effects on the economy of the world, which many countries are yet to recover from it.
Nigeria as a country wasn't left our as they had their own share of the negative effects of the pandemic. The President, through the Presidential Tasks Force on Covid 19 initiated a total lockdown of the country, thereby crippling all the activities in the country.
Education sector was among the sectors that felt the negative effects of the pandemic as schools was forcefully closed and students sent home to their homes,to avoid future spread of Corona Virus, thereby altering the academic calendar. Most of the people mostly affected are students preparing for their West African Examination Council exams, scheduled to start on April. After weeks of total lockdown, the restrictions was relaxed partially, thereby bringing life all endeavors of human life. Not quite long after the relaxation of the lockdown,WAEC made known of their intentions of conducting the exams in all West African countries and soliciting the support of different countries in making it a success.
The Minister of Education made it known that Nigerian won't be participate in the forthcoming exams, to avoid the spreading of the virus among students.

But in the midst of the Covid 19, Independent National Electoral Commission has rollout their timetable for the conduct of Governorship elections in Edo and Ogun state and preparations are in top gear in actualizing that. Political parties in Edo State has conducted their primary elections and their candidates nominated, and Ogun coming up next week. In all this, there have been large gatherings, thereby violating the guidelines of NCDC.
In conclusion, if the WACE cannot hold because of the pandemic, them why should the Nigeria government go on in conducting the forthcoming elections.
The ingenuity of our leaders have so much blindfolded them that all they think and reason is all about their personal interest. Election in Nigeria is more important to our government than our educational system. What a pity.

Politics / Payment Of Abia Civil Servants Salaries by nedu89: 5:29pm On Feb 28, 2020
Payment Of Abia Civil Servants Salaries, Unveiling the Lies of Aham Uko Pt 1

"Those who live by propaganda will die by propaganda" Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe

Recently we were fed with the magic hands of the new Commissioner of finance Dr. Aham Uko’ as it affects prompt payment of salaries even when he is aware that our financial standing may not be able to carry the burden of our over inflated salary wage bill, he went on a deceitful mission of signing an unrealistic social contract that payment of salaries must come on or before 24th of every month or at worst 28th we notified the public of the reasons why such contracts may be realizable in the immediate but not sustainable, but just like every lie and make belief it has an ending and the ending for Aham Uko’s lies is here already

Rather than face financial realities, Dr. Uko embarked on a cheap campaign of self-praise using every forum to eulogize himself while casting aspersions on his predecessor and blaming him for late payment of salaries even when he is aware that the fault may not be entirely his.

We took time to explain to Abians the reasons for the prompt payments ranging from the shift in the FAAC date from 25th to 18th of every month and most importantly restructuring of the TOD of 3.7b to a term loan with a tenor of 3 years.

The gains we made by ensuring that the state is freed from heavy Temporary Over Drafts (TOD) that has heaped pressure on our accounts so that on receipt of our monthly allocation, payments of salaries commences since we don’t need to wait for a new month to renew the existing TOD after paying down with the FAAC allocation have been also been eroded and Dr. Uko has gone back to massive borrowing to pay his masters who had to resurrect old Payment vouchers dating back to 2008.

The effects of all these under the table transactions are that Abians have gone back to same old system of waiting for the banks to process TOD before salaries can be paid, My worry is that the romance lasted only 4 months before they took us back to Egypt. I am pained that Abia workers is going to face a very difficult period and are advised to put on their seat belt as this journey is set to be very turbulent and rough given the foreseeable economic crisis that may hit the state soon.

On the claims of IGR Growth.

We are used to these figures which can never be verified and has never reflected on the life and living standard of the average Abian. It is our wish and prayer that our IGR improves but nobody should play politics with this all important sector which keeps reminding us how behind we are as a State.

Abians should note that the month of January usually experiences increase in IGR and is naturally expected because demand notices for revenues in the New Year is usually given out before the end of the year. The few corporate clients in Abia like NBL and others pay their taxes in January to avoid molestation and we can only rejoice over this claim if this 1billion naira hit in IGR is sustained in the next two months.

It has become very clear that the new Commissioner for Finance is here to play politics and make personal gains, that’s why he goes about deceiving Abians with unrealistic claims.

It’s very laughable to note that after so much boasts of how he is going to offset the pension arrears all he did was to sprinkle two months arrears on a few selected pensioners majorly their leadership just to keep them out of the media and block them from staging protests, whereas the larger percentage of genuine pensioners were left unpaid and with no hope of being paid.

It is unfortunate that despite the purported verification exercise, non pensioners were fraudulently added to the list, increasing the pension bill to an all-time high of about 700m.

The current reality is that as at today, not even one month pension arrears was completely paid, and over 25 months has been left unpaid, its pitiful that the current pension chairman is being buried today Friday 28th of February 2020 and members can't even attend the burial of their leader due to lack of money occasioned by non-payment of their due entitlement after going on radio to announce that they have been paid.

In the midst of all the lies and propaganda let’s not also forget that ABSUTH received their last salary, November 2018, Abiapoly is still being owed 17 months arrears while Health Management Board is 12 months down and our commissioner for finance is busy playing politics with our salaries, wages and pensions.

The truth of the matter is that the VC's are using ASSU to achieve their selfish aims. They will prepare a high payroll and send to the federal government and when they get the money, they will prepare another payroll they will use to pay the salaries of the lecturers. Secondly, a lot of padding is going on in the salary scale of most lecturers. IPPIS must be implemented in the University environment. I wonder how an employee will tell his employer on how to pay him

Agriculture / Wired Scam In FG Anchor Borrowers' Programme! by nedu89: 9:45pm On Oct 20, 2019
CBN/NIRSAL:
ABIA FARMERS ALLEGE HIGH - WIRED SCAM IN FG ANCHOR BORROWERS' PROGRAMME!
* Police, DSS, EFCC steps in …

The quest by the Federal Government of Nigeria to diversify the economy through heavy investment in Agriculture may have suffered a serious blow if the painful and sad tale of Abia rice farmers under the Central Bank of Nigeria Anchor Borrowers’ programme in partnership with Nigeria Incentive Based Risk-Sharing System for Agricultural lending (NIRSAL) is anything to go bye.

The anchor borrowers’ Programme (ABP) was launched by President Muhammadu Buhari on November 17, 2015. The intention of the programme is to create a linkage between anchor companies involved in the processing and small Holder farmers (SHFS) of the required key agricultural commodities.
The programme is structured in a way that it will take care of the provision of input in kind and cash to small holder farmers to boost food production.
Again, the programme is targeted at giving loan to small farmers in group/cooperative(s) cutting across the following:
Cereals; (rice, maize, wheat etc), cotton; Roots and Tubers (cassava, potatoes, yam, ginger etc); Tree crops (oil palm, cocoa, rubber etc) Legumes (soya bean, sesame seed, cowpea etc), Livestock (fish, poultry, ruminants etc).
However, for Rice farmers in Abia State, it has been a tale of woe for the past one year. A document made available to News Mirror and allegedly signed by Dr. M.A. Olaitan, Director, Development Finance Department of Central Bank of Nigeria Central Business District, Abuja indicates that; one Orakus and sons Nigeria Limited, who claimed to have an Ultra Modern Rice mill in Amauba Housing Estate, Avodim, Ubakala Umuahia South LGA Abia State had written a letter to CBN and was subsequently approved as the Anchor for Abia Rice farmers for the 2018 farming season.

The letter by Orakus and Sons was dated April,24, 2018, why the reply came with the speed of light and reads in part thus; ....your letter received on 29th March, 2018 on the above subject refers...
As specified in the letter signed by Dr. Olaitan; in addition to the expression of interest to be an Anchor( Orakus), your other duties include;
*To organise small holder farmers into cooperative(s)/cluster; to select a participating financial institution (PFI) as channel for the disbursement of loan; enroll the farmers on Bank Verification Number (BVN) with account numbers and forward same to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN); organize town hall meetings, and arrange the training of the farmers.
It was specified clearly in the CBN guideline that; the loan disbursements are to be made directly to the farmers account within five (5) days it was disbursed by CBN through NIRSAL account.

However, News Mirror, in the course of our investigation for the past two months met six times with Udoka Emmanuel Oraekwute, the CEO of Orakus & Sons Nig. Ltd, from Amauba Housing Estate Avodim, Ubakala Umuahia South, who confirmed to News Mirror crew that all those conditions have been met, as at June, 2018, including the supply of input in November, 2018, just as he confirmed that his company made the supply as well as made available a document of the transaction carried out through his company but said till moment, he has not been paid his N49,236,00. Fourty Nine Million, Two Hundred and Thirty Six Thousand Naira, only since he made the supply on 26th, November, 2018.
Mr. Udoka equally presented a document with names and contact phone numbers of Rice farmers in Abia State and their account numbers, opened in Umuahia Branch of Unity bank but claimed the farmers have had no access to their money over the past one year, even as all the farmers we spoke with, alleged that they got credit alerts but that the bank did not allow them access to their money only for them to get debit alerts few weeks later, confirming that the cash deposits have also left their accounts twice without their knowledge.
News Mirror approached the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Umuahia branch and met Mr. Camilus Ogbuagu, the Development Finance Manager, Umuahia branch of CBN, who also happen to be the leader of the Project Management Team (PMT), saddled with the responsibility of monitoring the Anchor Borrower programme.

He confirmed all the narratives of Mr. Oraekwute, and also told to News Mirror that all the criteria for the loan to the rice farmers were met and the money subsequently disturbed to NIRSAL account, a firm that happen to be the link between the farmers and CBN.
News Mirror made several efforts to meet with Mr. Isaac Anosike, the Nirsal Head in Umuahia but was bluntly rebuffed by him.
News Mirror called the Unity Bank, Umuahia branch and also Unity Bank headquarters but the responses we got were not convincing but will be made public.

The questions begging for answers are:
1. What happened to the money of rice farmers deposited at Unity Bank Umuahia branch for the past one year as Abia Rice farmers we interviewed all had
tale of sorrows?
2. Was input supplied to Abia Rice farmers, who supplied the input and did it get to the rice farmers?
3. Was the supplier paid for the input alleged supplied even as the whole money was paid into NIRSAL account by the Central Bank of Nigeria months before the supply as confirmed by Mr. Ogbuagu?
4. Did Abia Farmers plant rice during the 2018 farming season?
5. Why did Police, DSS and EFCC invite officials of NIRSAL and Central Bank of Nigeria?

Keep a date with us as we take you into the biggest agricultural scam in history.
Agriculture / Wealth Creation Through Agriculture By Adasomic Group by nedu89: 2:15pm On Oct 07, 2019
*ADASOMI GROUP TO CREATE 200,000 DIRECT EMPLOYMENT IN ABIA THROUGH INVESTMENT IN AGRICULTURE*

Agriculture is no doubt the next economic hub and future destination for Nigeria and indeed many other countries of the word. With the dwindling oil revenue and the predictions by renowned economic analyst, the lucrative oil sector is fast taking the back seat in the world economy index.
To underscore the above assertion, the Federal Government has through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Agricultural supporting banks created a stimulus for Nigerian farmers, cutting across the small, the big and even the large scale players and processors of Agricultural products with the sole aim of massively increasing output, reduce food importation, guarantee food security, creative employment and distribute wealth.
Leaveraging on this Agric business window, a group, Adasomi Foundation has thus, introduce a system of easy ways of engaging in the agricultural business called, *HECTER BY HECTER* .
HECTER BY HECTER is a well thought out system that can create over 200,000 direct employment opportunities to Abians and take many; especially our unemployed teeming youths out of the streets.
The scheme is designed to accommodate both small holder peasant farmers, large scale farmers, even farmers engaged in the production of identified commodities, cutting across every community in Abia State. Adasomi group has a designed workable template to develop Farm Estates in different communities and would encourage farmers to form groups of cooperative(s) society that will accommodate a minimum of 5 and maximum of 20 farmers for effective administration, supervisions and good results.
Adasomi foundation will make financial contribution with very low bearing loans, engage buyers / primary off takers and take charge of distribution of farm inputs like : fertilizerz, pesticides etc. They are ready and well prepared to play any other roles that will ensure effective take -off with the aim of maximum yield and positive result for all all participating farmers in double maxima of sufficient food production / food security and creation of direct wealth to the farmers.
The group is targeting mostly unemployed youths, women and peasant farmers with the aid of learning materials, and capable trainers in the Agricultural sector. The farmers so selected will also act as awareness volunteers and change agents, under the HECTER BT HECTER volunteer scheme, organize town hall meetings, become agents of basic social responsibility programmes and once in a while engage in voluntary service such as : tress planting, road maintaince, voter awareness, environmental protection, community policing and agricultural extension services.
Therefore, come 18th day of October, all roads will lead to Hotel Royal Damgret, Umuahia Abia State as HECTER BY HECTER PROGRAMME, aimed at promoting Employment, Wealth creation, Wealth Redistribution, Financial Inclusion and general public awareness through Agric business with it's value chain will be unveiled tk Abians.
Adasomi group is calling the Abia State Government, Traditional Rulers, Political office holders that wish to empower their constituents through Agriculture, farmers, cooperative society(s) groups, community heads, women leaders, youth group, peasant farmers and indeed the general public to avail themselves this rare opportunity to key into this life changing Agricultural programme.

Politics / Ikpeazu And The Buccaneers In Power! by nedu89: 7:59am On Aug 25, 2019
IKPEAZU AND THE BUCCANEERS IN POWER!
*Why Abia must be rescued from this dangerous cabal.

On May 29th, 2015 when Dr. Okezie Victor Chibuikem Ikpeazu and his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu were sworn for their first term in office, it was greeted with wild jubilation amongst Abians who apparently keyed into his academic and intellectual powers while yearning for the state to take a great leap from celebrated inanity. Same joy flowed across the entire Ukwa Ngwa Land as that was the first time someone from Ukwa Ngwa area of Abia state would emerge as the Governor of the state thus, ending the long standing agony and agitation of the people.

Most Abians agree that, Ikpeazu became Governor when it was not fun to become a Governor in a State like Abia as the problems confronting Abia were too numerous and needed to be tackled headlong by any incoming Governor through fiscal discipline, dedication, divine wisdom and the desired political will.

What Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu needed was to appoint men and women of high moral clarity, good conscience and integrity to handle the affairs of Abia state and steer it away from an age long entrenched system of fraud, revenue leakage, blatant corruption and high wired organized crime perpetrated by both political appointees and civil servants, then the political will to kill an ant with a sledge hammer.

Most people think about Abia and her numerous hydra headed challenges with utmost terror. Abia has the menacing problems of infrastructural decay such as dilapidated school buildings, bad road network, deficient primary healthcare delivery system, unemployment, bad educational systems, lip service to Agricultural support programmes, sycophantic apparatuses, the brutal unresolved issues of ghost workers and the problems associated with the payment of teachers and civil servants salaries and that of pensioners.

However, it is no longer news that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has started his second tenure and five years down the line, i am sure, the Governor is taking stock of his past four years and planning the next few years ahead as the future of Abia stares him in the face like an optical image from a plan mirror.
In the next few years, Gov. Ikpeazu would look back and ask himself if he left Abia better than he met it and that question will not be answered by him alone, rather by all Abia residents.

As it seems, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu leadership does not seem to have met the aspirations and yearnings of the silent majority. This writer is of the opinion that, he has the time to salvage his areas of failures or face the gathering merciless lampooning.

Gov. Ikpeazu may not have tackled most of the core challenges facing Abia, but the greatest challenge confronting the Ikpeazu administration is the elevation of sycophants and the tiny cabal around him. They are his real enemies not the likes of Dom Nick, Dodoh Okafor, Paul Hallmark, Ariwa Zuby and the rest of Abians who are constructive critics but wish he delivers on his mandate.

Sadly, these familiar enemies of Dr. Ikpeazu are his Ngwa brothers from Obingwa with other disgruntled elements and recruited foot soldiers from other Local Government Areas, especially from Ngwa. They see his government as a window for corrupt enrichment, not an opportunity to serve the people and they have stolen enough that the only word for them should be - ENOUGH.

No matter the side of divide you may belong, every Ukwa Ngwa person must look at the larger political picture because, if this present administration under a Governor of Ukwa Ngwa extraction becomes a failure, the Ukwa Ngwa Nation would be faced with two choices; to finally and helplessly collapse into the entangling alliances or become terrifically schizophrenic in Abia politics.

Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu must therefore summon the political will to deal with his self inflicted pain by keeping this brutal, egocentric and unsympathetic group away from governance thus, correcting his unforced error or leave Government House as a diminished Governor.

It's rather unfortunate that this gang have blocked every atom of reform with high wired propaganda and has so far spent millions to sponsor articles with none existing group with faceless names, fake and unverifiable address against an ex commissioner who had in many occasions stopped them from pillaging billions of Abia common wealth to increase their selfish stake in self aggrandizement and self - serving loyalty to extend the frontiers of their mystery billionaire status.

For curtailing their organized crime and fraudulent activities, they are fighting the system along side the ex commissioner.

.....in part two, we shall publish names of the cabal, their past, present activities, contracts and refunded stolen millions and all the sponsors of Lloydant propaganda.

Politics / The Igbo And 2023 Presidency by nedu89: 11:28pm On Aug 17, 2019
Ndi Igbo and 2023 Presidency

Like a popular saying goes, no house divided among it's self can stand. It has become paramount that the Igbos should wake up to the realities of the present day politics in Nigeria and face it squarely. There is no where in the world power is given to a set of people just on the grounds of segregation. Power is not a pot of pottage that can be shared freely, you must put up a fight before you can get it. The greatest enemy of Ndi Igbo is not the Hausa, Yoruba or Fulani as we all think, but we the Igbos, with reference to what happened prior to the just concluded general election, when the PDP picked their Vice President candidate. These saying also that the Igbos doesn't have a king is really telling on us and the early we try to resolve this, the better for us. It's high time the who is who in Igbo land should put aside their political party affiliation, come together and foster a way to achieve a common goal. There is need for a wide consultation with other major ethnic tribes in Nigeria, in other to convince them of the need for an Igbo President come 2023. Ranting on social media can't and will never earn us the Presidential seat, a tactical approach need to be put in place and it must start in a round table. If we fail to do these, then we should bury the thoughts of being the number citizen of this country. This is a clarion and wake up call to all our Igbo politicians, be it in APC, PDP , SDP, AAC, APGA, etc. Together we can do it
