Read and reread and empathise abd sympathise with its author.

Just think it would be wise of me to also include that the sentiments expressed are the same ones parents of West Indians(Caribbeans), Whites, Indians and ALL other race where people marry outside of their race,
Everything up to that point was cool - Yes spontaneity n creativity are very much needed in a relationship - but do you expect to get rewarded for them as well?

Thought that counts? Not always, sometimes phrases like you shouldn't have bothered do come up! cheesy
FACT!!!
Then again you have to keep in mind that we are all different, thus what may not bother me may very well ignite a fire in someone else. But the truth is, there are thousands of other females who hold and share my point of view on the whole gift-exchange issue. wink
I hear and i can relate only because i'm that same type of guy. but there are those that do not necessarily dwell into these area as it's not in their nature.
Re-package the gift - you some girlz will set out to find out how much was spent, from where and if real mccoy right.
So if yo guy misses your b'day - you wouldn't feel a way (although not mention anything to him)?
Wearing his favourite colour - that is a new one on me!
Doing something specail wink - i can understand this also as long as it doesn't b'come a must and expected everytime.
Once again, it all goes back to the individual. Yes there are many ladies who would hire, if it becomes necessary, a PI to investigate the price and place of purchase grin, on the other hand I could care less ( am think I am financially able to pamper myself with nich stuff if the need arises)

I stopped celebrating birthdays when I turned 25. cry cry cry,. So please fellas don't remind that am getting up the hill grin cheesy grin.

The colour thingy and the "doing something special" scenario are all aspects of creativity. And creativity and spontaneous activities, are key ingredients to fuel long lasting relationships,

Once again, it's the thought that counts!!
Okay i can appreciate and respect that - Which is excatly what i'm trying to establish.
How long would such a gesture and sentiment suffice for - without the trips and even dinner?
As I said, it is an individual and more so personal thing. If I am dating someone and he is not financially able to shower me with gifts from Tiffany's or Bloomingdales, so what? Let him to to JC Penny and re-gift if it so pleases him ( Fellas take note grin)

There isn't a time limit on how soon he should begin his kind gesture. Truth be told am not the typical "gift expector". I love being surprized. So hey! skip my birthday, but surprize me for wearing your favourite colour on a particular day, or maybe last night I did something I had never done before ( Holy Jesus deliver me cry cry) . You got the picture, right?

I hate monotony, it kills everything,
So girlz are materialistic!!!
Fact is it's not only good enough to buy something but it has to be of value (finance), latest and bigger the better!
If he carved a wood and wrote something poetic on it is that acceptable and sustainble?  grin
Now this statement is as inaccurate as it can be.  Now I stated that I do expect to be given tangible things, however, I never debated on the issue of financial value.

I was raised to appreciate the simpliest things in life.  If it may you to know, my ex gave me frame with a picture his mom took of him at 6 weeks old, in his birthday suit, which I treasured for years( then I threw it out along with him, but that in itself is another story grin)  So you see, it's not the cost of the gift but rather the thought that should really counts,

The truth is no matter how much a woman says she doesn't want anything from their spouse( is a lie).  Just like children look forward to being rewarded for acceptable behaviour, adults as well welcome the idea of being pampered every once in a while, C'mon, be truthful cheesy wink

while material things should never be the focal point in any relationship, NO ONE wants to be with someone who doesn't reward them with tangible things. I know I won't stick around with a guy for such a long time without even a plaque to show.

At first it may seem enjoyable to have you guys at each other's throat. But it gets to a point where it just gets annoying and boring. You are taking out the fun of being here
simple solution to your dilemma, Don't come around or stay away from the threads that warrant such feelings,  huh huh

And with regards to your "plea" about trying to get along, DREAM ON,  I refuse to subject myself to fake friendship all in the name of peace, especially with people who are immature and are hell bent on instigating verbal wars.

Thanks for your suggestion, however vague it may be ( only my opinion)
CelebritiesRe: Jim Iyke - Busted by neelsel(f): 7:24pm On May 11, 2007
This is utter nonsense.

Just recently read an article where Halle Berry stated that "Payless" is one of her favourite shoe places. Also Brittney Spears and other Hollywood celebs frequent "Walmart". C'mon people, it is NOT that serious!!!!!
CultureRe: Marriage Squeeze: Is This Only An African American Woman's Problem? by neelsel(f): 5:28pm On May 11, 2007
And once more the saga continues, White women/men marrying Black men/women, Who cares?

It's a personal choice, to each its own. I know I won't allow myself to be "raped" all over again, so I have limitations on who I allow to rumble under the covers with.

For those black brothers who still believe that white women are superior and would rather date/marry them over your black sister, yea "ga lang", More power to you.

For the black brothers who have decided not to "jump ship", even more power to you!!

As I said it's a personal choice, and in life we all make decisions based on numerous factors. While I am convinced that a few marry these ladies as a result of genuine love, the majority do so out of self-pity and opportunity.

The whole thread has taken a different approach and I am out!!!

@Sisi--stupid,

I thought you had evacuated the premises and so enable us "insaned" earthlings to roam freely.  Instead it appears as though I was dead wrong.

Now my response to you will be very limited, as I have concluded that your attention span and academical capabilities are paramount to that of a 5 year old, so My waste of vocabulary would be better utilized elsewhere.

PLEASE, The highlighted area  in my quote that  you took time to use in your verbal attack on Cute Ass, was not meant for nonentities like yourself to abuse, but instead to drive home a point that at that particular time I felt was necessary.

Now if it would do you any good to know, CuteAss and I have already settled the dust and have moved on.  So please take your "gutter demeanor" elsewhere.

Stop coming on the forum making a complete mockery of yourself. I am still extending my offer to you in the area of reading.  Matter of fact I took time out today during my lunch break to gather a few more eductional tools that would aid in the reconstructuring of your warpped mentality.

You come here preaching one thing, yet your action says something else,  GROW THE HELL UP!!!!!!

I can clearly see you are at sensori-motor stage, such a shame, a damn grown-ass woman like you.

I am done with you, it's like wasting money at the race track. And once again, move on, we all have.
