Religion / Re: Apostle Johnson Suleman: "Why A Marriage Can Be Dissolved" (VIDEO) by nefertitiram: 11:21pm On Sep 12, 2017
teshyberry:

My dear I have a lot to tell about marriage
I served God faithfully in school,
When it was time to marry, I married a virgin @ age 24.
There's no baby yet after 3years
I just realised from test results it's not my fault at all...
It'snt this deception
Yet I'm too scared and too religious to end the marriage...
Mum is late!
Even my Popsy wants me to quit!

Why will you end the marriage because no child yet? Children are gifts from God and fruits of marriage. Did you marry just because to bear kids?
Why exactly did you get married? Is hubby having fertility issues? Did he know before marriage and did he hide it from you? Have you seen a doctor? Your hubby may not be happy at the result, you need to stand by him and reassure him. You should not resent him now... Esp if it came as a shock to him as well. I can imagine how deflated his ego and manhood may be right now, don't make it worse for him. There are many treatments for male fertility issues. Worst case, there is ivf and icsi. Other options are donor sperm. As long as both of you are in agreement. I see adverts all the time for surrogates, even people are willing to pay for donor eggs. So kini big deal? But if your hubby knew that he had sperm issues before marriage and refused to tell you, then you have a right to request annulment, as it is deception. But if he didn't know, it will nor be fair of you to abandon him now.. It has only been 3 years...

We waited 4 years before we started having kids, and the issue was with me, but my man was supportive all the way.

Once we saw a doc who said he has done all the treatments, we should go and do IVF, I felt so downcast... My hubby asked the doctor "does she have a womb?" The doc said yes, the womb is fine. My hubby responded, that's all we need to know, when the time comes, we will have kids. And we decided not to talk about babies and fertility in our home again. Infact one of my daughter's names means "There is Time for Everything"

Within 6mths, without anxiety and trying desperately, we conceived twins, even though they came prematurely and didn't survive, then conceived another girl who was born 10/11mths after. The doctors said it wouldn't come naturally... God confused them. The same doctor said it was as a result of all the fertility treatments we had been using over the years, all of a sudden, I am over fertile! I laughed in Swahili!

Like I said before, it is all about agreement. Once both of you agree and pray in agreement, God will answer. No need for blame games, it doesn't help. Marriage is for better for worse. Children will come when the time comes.

The beautiful thing about my situation was that I had a past, and he was aware of the past before we went ahead, so it was easy to support me. Now, if I had hidden that part of my life, and it came out to haunt us later, then he had every right to request annulment based on deception.

Even things like being a school dropout and claiming to be a graduate is a big deception. Even as big as lying about fertility issues.

Marriage based on deception is invalid.

It can be annulled. It is different from divorce. You can only divorce from a valid marriage.

Annulled marriages were null & void ab initio. They never existed.

Annulment is just an official restoration of status quo ante. And evidence rendering the marriage certificate/status useless.

Many people have very little understanding of basic stuff. They just huff & puff like religious extremists.

This is wrong, I use to think archaic like this before.

If someone can't procreate it doesn't stop such person from marrying, there are other ways to procreat now in this more enlighten age and besides such couples can adopt a child(ren).

If they both agree its fine. Not when one party deceives the other, and traps him/her in such a hopeless situation. Everything is agreement. It is selfish and wicked to lie about things like fertility status, prior marital status, hiv status and mental state. Hence, the church has every right to grant the aggrieved party respite thru annulment

Abeg help me tell all this baby christians...

Lol @ baby Christians. It is only evident that most of them are unmarried. Because during marriage counselling, this information will be made available. I remember sitting with my husband to discuss if there were any impediments that would render our marriage invalid. Its better to spill it now o, so that we won't waste money on ceremonies.
I remember then I had some issues which I shared with him, and he was cool with them. A broken relationship is better than annulled marriage. After spending millions on Lagos marriage and next thing, it was all a waste because the marriage was invalid
Religion / Re: Apostle Johnson Suleman: "Why A Marriage Can Be Dissolved" (VIDEO) by nefertitiram: 1:54pm On Sep 12, 2017
A marriage based on lies can be annulled, it is not called a divorce but an annulment, based on the premise of "it never happened in the first place" because it was built on lies and deception. The catholic church also annuls such marriages. I know this because I married in a catholic church.
There are two ways to legally end a marriage - annulment and divorce. An annulment is a legal procedure which cancels a marriage between a man and a woman. Annulling a marriage is as though it is completely erased - legally, it declares that the marriage never technically existed and was never valid. So if a man or a woman lies about his or fertility or HIV or mental status, and the spouse finds out, the marriage is rendered invalid and can be dissolved almost instantly. Like it never happened.

As for divorce, this doesn't happen in the church, only in the law court. The church can encourage separation and sue for peace esp in issues of domestic violence but divorce cannot happen. And if you chose to separate from your partner, you must remain unmarried, until death do you part.

So Apostle suleiman is correct in this case

Will you keep following ur husband bumper to bumper to work, to the car wash, to every occasion? If he wants to cheat he will. Live ur life

No. Its not about his cheating, it is about giving room for temptation. Because when the shit hits the Fab, they will now blame you for not following him when he was transferred. But even if he cheats eventually, he is the he-goat and nobody will blame you

Hello house,
I have been been a nairalander for many years and i just need advice because am so devasted. I got married to my husband 7years ago with 3beautiful kids ,a girl and 2 boys

My husband is that perfect men any woman would ever prayer for.i have never suspected him for once not until last year september that i saw some frequent call from a particular no, i decided to take the no and store on my own phone,,i suspected he was cheating but i did nit have any evidence to prove it.

So last month,i activated an automatic call recording on his phone and here i am, all my doubt were confirmed, i decided not to ask him as i laid down my own plans too, i took his phone and scan his whatapp QR code and i deactivated the notification so he wont know. So with this, i was able to veiw all his chat directly from my phone through this chat i saw that the lady was around at his place yesterday morning and i travelled in the eveningbecause we dont live in the same state due to transfer

i took my children to my sisters place and i travelled, looo and behold this lady was wearing only paint and bra in my husbands room although i gave both of them good dirty slap of thier life, and i told her i have details of his guy and that i was going to call and let him know the kind of girl she is

so now to cut the long story short this lady has a fiance which is planning to wed her because i got to her instagram page and facebook page and i saw that she has a very good guy at her hand thus made me sad because i dont know why she would cheat with my husband even after having a good relationship,

my decision is that am planning to call this guy through facebook call and send him all the recording and whatappbchat between her fiance and my husband

i just want to know if am making the right decision

as for my husband , he will meet me at home

Madam honestwife,

Contact afia's husband for advice. You should have taken a video of her naked and make copies. Send her a copy and threaten to expose her to her fiance and the whole world if she doesn't leave your husband alone. Well, that one done pass.

If it were me, walahi I will not think twice. Chat her up, on watsapp, confront her with your evidence, screen grab the chat and send to her fiance on watsapp and beg him to ask her to leave your husband alone.

Better still post her Instagram handle here, let us help you humiliate the life out of the she -goat.

As for your husband, na you cause am. How can you leave a man to get transferred out of state? Are you a learner?

When my husband was transferred from Lagos to Biafra, I followed him bumper to bumper to avoid stories that touch. Imagine cold night, the man will turn around and nothing to hold on to! God forbid bad tin!

The poe issue could be explained away as you getting a cheap ticket was why you flew to Newyork instead of going direct to Chicago.
I usually advice people to buy their tickets like 2 weeks before journey in order to get a good deal, this applies to both air and bus tickets
Are you sure you want to go the bus route? Newyork to Chicago by road is at least 13hrs,so think am well o.

Actually 16 by bus, 19 by train

The journey that started some years back just came to a beautiful end!! Today i stopped carrying the tag " Undergraduate" around!!

First of all, i thank God for his mercy and love towards me for "without God we can do nothing". I thank my ever supportive parents, my lovely brothers and my sweet sister.

I thank my beautiful readers and the lovely people of Nigeria ... MAY God continue to bless you all.

And today, I remember my Late Cousin and Roommate, Nkiruka Anthonia Ikeanyionwu (The only surviving child of my mother's late sister) who was killed during Biafra protest on the 2nd day of December, 2015, while on her way to Onitsha to get her school fees receipt, I pray that God through his infinite mercy welcomes you into his eternal glory.

And to the the entire "blogosphere" may God continue to strengthen us all!! The reward for hard work is more work!! May we never get tired of using the internet!!! ... Lol.

Thank you Nairaland , Ever grateful.

But she was killed, how is she still surviving?

It was in the compound of the hospital that the picture was taken (probably by someone who came with them) ...

He was brought in with his dad who also suffered broken arm (dunno how that happened though) but the nurses were all staring at him while he bled go death (all because they didn't come with a police report)...

The guy that carried him in the picture (maybe his brother, cause that's the way he brought them in, No shirt on) really tried.... He gave him mouth to mouth respiration, got a towel to stop the blood gushing out and all the nurses could do was stare on (I weep for state of hospitals in this country)....

Mind you, only 1 doctor as on duty this morning when he was brought in and he chose to attend to the dad with the broken arm... By the time the DPO of the nearest police station came, he already gave up the ghost...

I pray God gives the family the fortitude bear the loss

Omg!!! Hector!!!! We were neighbours back in ogudu.

Ive been to bauchi. The city is lovely, surreal. The roads are on point. The weather is cool, esp in Jan Feb.

Also, visit Niger state, Kainji lake reserve.

Jos is another fab place.

If you ever visit those places, eat sugar cane during harmattan. Freezing sugarcane.

also visited Maiduguri in 2007, if not for boko haram... Maiduguri is a fantastic place too. Fresh vegetables, if you eat salad, crispy and fresh. surplus potato fries, awesome suya, juicy and very cheap.

I love Northern Nigeria, even though I live in the East. I hope peace is restored to that zone

Haylad,
It's quite possible! You can apply for the immigrant investor visa.

"To qualify as an immigrant investor, a foreign national must invest, without borrowing, the following minimum qualifying capital dollar amounts in a qualifying commercial enterprise:

$1,000,000 (U.S.); or
$500,000 (U.S.) in a high-unemployment or rural area, considered a targeted employment area.
A qualifying investment must, within two years, create full-time jobs for at least 10 U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or other immigrants authorized to work in the United States, not including the investor and the investor’s spouse, sons, or daughters."

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/Immigrant-Investor-Visas.html

Remember to update the house when you get your visa.

I don't think Nigeria has that E2 treaty with US that allows us to make such investment in US in exchange for green card.

Instead Nigerians who make investment in US can only get a b1 visa and make multiple trips to visit their US based investments and businesses. They however cannot stay and manage the business, only hire US citizens. You will be however subjected to US taxation and laws.

Modified: I think Nigerians can apply for the investor immigrant program under EB-5 category, so cosade you are correct

Houston mamas, stay safe!

I hear areas in Houston are devastated. Sugarland inclusive and the flooding continues and worsens.

If you didn't evacuate before the flood, remain in your homes and call 911 if you enter labour.

No electricity sef.

Lagos/Delta flooding were nothing compared to this Hurricane Harvey flooding.

Houston's airports and runways are flooded. Flights cancelled. Passengers already in the airports entered any available flight just to get out of the city, some landed in strange destinations.
southwest airline evacuated 500 passengers from Houston to Dallas
Over 20 trillion gallons of rainfall, 62 counties labelled disaster zones.

Na real wa!!!

Pele dear.

You can reapply with another doctor. Better still Connect with a doctor through a hospital. They are in a better position to recommend a competent obgyn. I can assist you with one but you have to sign the contract and make commitment before they provide correspondence and you must use the hospital.

I guess the issue has just become more pronounced over the years. I got the visa before I got pregnant. So, it was at the Chicago POE that the lady interrogating me was quite unfriendly and called Dr Akere a scam. I was allowed in anyway. I told Dr Akere about the difficulties I had then. He must be aware of these issues as many more people have had more difficult experiences.
