This is more or less from a response I gave to somebody yesterday who felt the bible is not a book of truth, and he had asked to know why God of the old testament was such a "wicked God that would tell Israel to go to war and wipe out other nations", and why he apparently seemed to have lowered his standards in the new testament by no longer demanding for christians to go and kill other nations like he told the Jews in old testament. His second question was, how come we have so many races and tribes and languages today if what the bible claims is true that we all came from the same Adam & Eve who in his own words "must have been arabs". Lastly, If the bible is true that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, then why did the God of the old testament look different from the God of the new testament who no longer tells people to go and kill other nations? Let's explore some answers below to see if the bible is really accurate, and if the facts are right, then it should give every non-believer a cause to rethink why they are not born again, because if the bible says Jesus is the only way to salvation, then it must be right also, and there will be no need wasting time and delaying your surrender to Christ. Because as the same bible says, Heaven is real and hell is real, and only your personal relationship with Christ can save you when you die and face judgement for where you will spend eternity. THE ANSWERS BELOW 1) God did not change, neither did He lower His standards. The same God of the old testament is the same God of the new testament. The only difference is that according to John 1:17 Jesus came with GRACE & TRUTH in the new testament. God's law clearly states it that THE SOUL THAT SINS SHALL DIE. THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH. In the old testament, there was no propitiation for sin, except among the Jews who understood about animal sacrifices, which were not a solution but a temporary reprieve for the consequences of their sins. Other nations in the old testament were deeply involved in sin, especially idolatry which even God himself gave a law to Moses, saying that any Israelite caught in idolatry should be put to death for that sin. All the nations and tribes that God commanded the israelites to kill and wipe out were idolatrous nations that refused to worship the true creator. God did not create double standards when it comes to sin, and that was why if the israelites worshipped idols, they got the same punishment that God asked them to mete out to the other idol-worshipping nations too. So, in short form, God asked those nations you referred to to be killed because of their sins, not because God was just a wicked God trying to kill innocent people. If you read Psalms 24:1 "The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein." This clearly tells you that God owns the earth and all the human beings living on it, and as such, he can do whatever he pleases with them, and NOBODY CAN QUERY HIM. If you yourself own a piece of land in your village, you can decide to build any kind of house you like on it, or you could even decide to use it for farming instead. And even if you had a building on that land, you can as well decide to pull it down, and nobody has a right to query you for what you choose to do with your property. THAT IS HOW IT IS WITH GOD AND THE EARTH. HE OWNS EARTH, HE OWNS THE LIVES OF ALL WHO LIVE ON EARTH, SO HE CAN CHOOSE TO DO WHATEVER HE DECIDES AND NOBODY CAN STOP HIM! Murder is a sin, only because no man has the ability to give life, and as such no man should have the right to take away an innocent life. Just as robbery is a sin because you don't have the right to take away a property that does not belong to you. By that law, if you kill a man, it is wrong because you didn't give that man his life and so you have no right to take it, BUT IF GOD KILLS, IT IS RIGHT BY EVERY STANDARD BECAUSE THAT LIFE IN THE FIRST INSTANCE BELONGS TO HIM, SO HE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO TAKE IT BACK IF HE SO CHOOSES. In the new testament, it might appear to you as though God lowered his standards, but the truth is he didn't. The only difference that makes it appear so to you is just the fact that Jesus came to die on the cross to pay for the sins of man which had to be punished. The Grace that came with the death and resurrection of Jesus is what provides the legal ground for God to forgive sins if there is repentance. That same Grace is what provides the legal ground for God to delay judgement on sin for a much longer time so that every sinner will have an opportunity to repent before judgement hits. Because according to John 3:17-18 "17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. 18 Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." So God does not take pleasure in sinners being judged and condemned, and that is why He gives a long opportunity to people to repent before they die and go to hell in judgement. As you can see, even people who blaspheme the name of God like @badman007 are still walking about freely and enjoying God's free oxygen just because of that same Grace that came with Jesus Christ. If it were in the old testament when there was no grace available for all, he may have been blasted by thunder and lightening during one of his regular blaspheming sessions. 2) To your second question about different races on earth if we all had come from the same Adam & Eve, the bible clearly states the answer in Genesis 10:25 "25 Eber had two sons. The first was named Peleg (which means “division”), for during his lifetime the people of the world were divided into different groups. His brother’s name was Joktan." So, in Genesis 10:25, the bible clearly states that the earth divided into different PEOPLE GROUPS(RACES), and in Genesis 11:1, the bible still states that the whole earth still had one language(even though they had been divided into races at this time), but if you read further about the story of the tower of Babel in the same chapter 11, from verse 5 "5 But when the LORD came down to look at the city and the tower, 6 he said: These people are working together because they all speak the same language. This is just the beginning. Soon they will be able to do anything they want. 7 Let's go down and confuse them! We'll make them speak different languages, and they won't be able to understand each other. 8-9 So the people had to stop building the city, because the LORD confused their language and scattered them all over the earth. That's how the city of Babel+ got its name." So these should answer your questions as to how God created one man and one woman, but today the earth has many races and languages. I have not found any other record of these outside of the bible. 3) I could give you a few more evidence to show you how accurate and true the word of God is; a) ROUND EARTH THEORY Long before the 17th century when scientists started discovering facts to prove that the earth was spherical, the bible had already written it that the earth was of a spherical and not a flat shape. Read Isaiah 40:22 "22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in." Thousands of years ago, when people thought the earth was flat, the bible already recorded the earth to have a circular shape. b) EARTH SUSPENDED IN SPACE When do you think scientists were able to prove that the earth was floating in space and not hanging on some kind of pillars? Your guess is as good as mine. Probably sometime in the 18th or 19th or 20th century. But thousands of years ago, when there were all sorts of myths about the earth being hung on something, the bible had already recorded that the earth was hanging in space. Read Job 26:7 "7 God stretches the northern sky over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing." c) DINOSAURS Long before scientists/archaeologists discovered that dinosaurs once roamed the face of the earth, the bible had already recorded such kind of animals. Read Job 40:15 "15 Behold now, behemoth, which I made as well as thee; He eateth grass as an ox. 16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, And his force is in the muscles of his belly. 17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together. 18 His bones are as tubes of brass; His limbs are like bars of iron. 19 He is the chief of the ways of God: He only that made him giveth him his sword. 20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, Where all the beasts of the field do play. 21 He lieth under the lotus-trees, In the covert of the reed, and the fen. 22 The lotus-trees cover him with their shade; The willows of the brook compass him about. 23 Behold, if a river overflow, he trembleth not; He is confident, though a Jordan swell even to his mouth. 24 Shall any take him when he is on the watch, Or pierce through his nose with a snare?" IT IS WORTH NOTING THAT THE NAME "DINOSAUR" WASN'T COINED BY SCIENTISTS UNTIL THE 19TH CENTURY AND THAT IS WHY YOU DON'T FIND THE WORD "DINOSAUR" IN THE BIBLE BECAUSE THE BIBLE WAS WRITTEN THOUSANDS OF YEARS BEFORE SCIENTISTS STARTED USING THE DINOSAUR WORD. But then, you may want to google the Dinosaur named Sauropod, which scientists officially recognise as the largest dinosaur to have ever lived. One of the translations of the bible put it this way in Job 40:19 "He is the foremost of God’s works; only his Maker can draw the sword against him." Which means he is the largest or most monstrous of God's creation as well. When you google about that Sauropod, also find out what kind of food scientists discovered it ate, whether it was a carnivore or it fed on grass despite its huge size as the bible already said in Job 40 above. NOTE: The book of Job in the bible according to bible scholars is the oldest book of the bible, and the events there occured before the flood of Noah (I don't have any personal proof of that one, but that is what people who have studied bible history say). If that happens to be the case, it can as well be concluded that these dinosaurs would have been wiped off the earth during the time of Noah's flood! But first, like i said, google the Sauropod dinosaur and compare it with that monster God described in Job 40 and tell me how else it would have been recorded so accurately in the bible before scientists discovered dinosaurs existed if the word of God was not true. Any further questions? So just for you to know, I do not come from a broke background. If your mind tells you that christians who follow Jesus are doing so because of hardship, then you've just confirmed it that Lucifer has greatly deceived you. Do the same thing OBJ did that enabled him cough out over $12billion to pay off debt with even lower oil prices than today. It is not rocket science. Everything comes down to allowing competent technocrats to handle the economy instead of gross nepotism going on under Buhari. Buhari doesn't need to know everything about economics to transform Nigerian economy, all he needs to do is to appoint very competent hands and give them a free hand like how OBJ gave Ngozi-Okonjo/Nenadi Usman/Charles Soludo. But corruption and nepotism will not allow him appoint such people......and yet we have some people still making excuses for him. Such travesty! |

I can't remember the total amount they paid, but I very well remember they paid over $12billion. If Obasanjo/Atiku could pay off over $12billion within a time when average oil price was less than the price of oil today under Buhari, then what excuse does Buhari have to perform so WOEFULLY?? In case you are not aware, during Obasanjo's First term between 1999 - 2003, Oil price was averaging below $32 per barrel. In fact, during 1999 - 2000, oil price even went as low as $17 per barrel. And despite that, Obasanjo managed to increase minimum wage several times and cough out over $12billion to pay off Nigeria's debts. You need to go hide your face in shame for having the courage to support such a daft and incompetent, corrupt man like Buhari. A man that is so corrupt that even when video evidence is tendered to the whole world to show Ganduje collecting dollars in bribe, he will still come out and defend him in public.....and he will be fooling people like you to believe he is fighting corruption! |

SoNature:Mr man, you obviously need somebody to tell you that you had either not been listening to the news back in 2008/2009 or you were too young for your parents to have allowed you access to the TV remote control to turn on TV news channel in your house. If not, you would have remembered Obama the cry cry baby who spent almost 3years of his first term blaming Bush until people started getting sick of his whining and constant complaining. Secondly, Obama never brought any unemployment rate below 4%. The unemployment rate as at January 2017 when Obama handed over was 4.7%! Go get your facts right before you come to start defending what you don't know. Unemployment rate only dipped below 4% for the first time in decades after Trump started reversing many of Obama's policies and began to deregulate a lot of sectors. Now tell me; if all these unprecedented economic growth under Trump were merely as a result of Trump "building on Obama's policies", then how come the growth never happened under Obama in 8years? How come Trump is working with policy ideas that are almost exact opposites of Obama's ideologies and yet we still have this magnitude of growth? How come Obama was more of a regulations and big government control president whereas Trump keeps cutting regulations and reducing government control on businesses, YET THE ECONOMY WAS STILL GROWING? How come in 2016 during campaigns for Hillary, Obama declared that Trump was deluded for claiming he will make the economy grow beyond 2% per year and possibly more, but Obama stated on camera that it's not possible for the American economy to grow that much again and the maximum best possible growth that can be achieved is 1%. BUT SINCE LAST YEAR, THE ECONOMY HAS BEEN GROWING BEYOND 3%......even higher than Trump's election campaign target minimum of 2%! In case you think all these things I'm saying about Obama are fabricated, I will now attach a short clip of Obama saying some of them during election campaign for you to see for yourself. The clip is about 5 minutes, but from 2:53 you'll start hearing Obama tell voters that the Manufacturing jobs Trump claims he will bring back are just not coming back. Time has proven Obama to be either a liar or just incompetent. After all he had never ran a business or created jobs personally before running for president, and that's why all he had was just sweet tongue and empty rhetorics to deceive us.
