In future they want to transform the Academy into Technology and Management Institute(by 2018) and finally into a University of Technology & Management (by 2020).
THE DANGOTE INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY WILL HAVE FOUR (4) SCHOOLS COVERING ALL DANGOTE SUBSIDIARIES VIZ:

School of Fertilizer&Petroleum Technologies (SFPT) covering Fertilizer, Petroleum, Refinery & Petrochemicals. 3.School of Food Technology (SFT) covering Sugar, Salt, Rice etc. 4.School of Management Education (SME) covering Leadership & Management training.
In summary ,for now those that are invited for the Refinery test, if they scale through the test, group discussion and the oral interview they will be taken to India to learn Refinery Operations. In future, they will no longer be trained abroad but here in Nigeria at the DANGOTE UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY & MANAGEMENT, OBAJANA KOGI STATE. First batch is currently in India for the Refinery operations training.
Hope my explanation is elaborate enough and educating. |

Please for Dneroomero and all his other followers (which I dont tink really exist), take a clue from 'Nobody's' post... Gather up and go to NDDC office, if u like carry placards, buh only make sure u have photocopies of ur acknowledgement sleep and submit it too.... You guys really dont understand. Nobody is saying you shouldnt protest. What we are saying is; 1. Simply state your name in full, 2. Make it clear you are acting alone, or simple add the full names of those with u, if possible with their signature. so that u dont end up fighting and using others as your collateral damage. Perhaps with that, NDDC may give you just your own scholarship first. Infact I am writing to much stories, lemme summerize in one sentence: DON'T BE A COWARD(S) Dneroomero: We are still pushing.. It is normal when you're trying to make positive change, some would fight and kick against. For some who are still pushing you've got my support am also pushing.
Somebody mentioned prayer. Yes my dear prayer is the ultimate key. Though my Bible told me that faith without work is dead. Guy as we push we back it up with prayers that; this pushing will work in no distant days.
I will say it now, tomorrow and next. The scheme is your right.
Enough of the talking we're still on the matter. Your vexing ain't gonna change anything why because on your end you tag us as "wrong" and on the pushing end we see it as "at this stage something positive should have started long ago". So continue with your vexing, take a pill if you'll need one and chill. Pushing will bring you cchang it ain't gonna spoil anything. You dig? |

Another sensible somebody...lol. All the people clamouring that the NDDC scholarship scheme is their right should have gone to the headquarter in person and demand from the MD to give them their right. Why act so cowardly by hiding behind other applicants you never consulted their opinions even to proof read the letter to pour out your frustrations. Scholarship anywhere is never a right but a privilege to appreciate your intelligence which obviously some people here lack going by their actons. Why do you expect to achieve by your "pushing"? NDDC should tremble by your empty threat? What do you think EFCC will do? Is NDDC scholarship engraved in the constitution? If NDDC explains with cogent reason tjat they don't have enough resources to continue with the scheme, will you arrest them? Now, if as at Friday you posted the mistake of a letter the list was released, would you have been able to meet up with the September calender? And if you say you have your visa already, why don't you go ahead with your studies as NDDC will alert your school and bank as when due since you are so sure that you are already a scholar that made you to act irrationally. Wisdom is profitable to direct. Your action now should be done on your knee asking God to sustain the scheme and let it not be suspended because of the economic recession in the country. The PTDF you refernced in your letter once did and NDDC can do it if need be. For my sake and the sakes of other concerned applicants, I hope it is not suspended. A word is enough for the wise. Shalom. |

Finally some more people that have sense are here Nuel1647: The scheme is only your right if it is engraved into NDDC constitution. Those of us that were present at the First ever interview (in 2011) witness the director of education at that time saying the scheme was his initiative (because too many people were running to the commission for sponsorship). NDDC constitution contains something like "human capacity development" however, this does not literally translates into "NDDC overseas postgraduate scholarship". There are over a thousand other ways NDDC can pursue human capacity development with respect to just education. NDDC should be commended for sustaining the scheme for this long and not condemned. How many times have we seen good things sustained for this long in Nigeria?
Last year, I correctly predicted this current crisis in the award of the scholarship. I am from delta state but schooled in Kano, and the first place I heard about NDDC was from Hausa people in Kano. They don't like the idea. Now you voted in a bigot Hausa/Fulani for president in the name of change and you expect a scheme that solely benefits people of the Niger Delta to go on without any CHANGE (hiccups), I don't think so. Let's be realistic.
I think (I may be wrong) NDDC is on the side of the scholars (including prospective scholars), their decision to initiate the scholarship process despite the hostile and challenging situation in Nigeria shows their conviction in the benefits of the process. It shows they attach great value to the process, believes in the benefits it brings and are not willing to let the process die out. For these reasons I do not support castigation or criticism of NDDC.
I agree that the process should be improved, made more transparent (maybe even do away with the CBT for PhD applicants as its done elsewhere) and expedited as well. But I will advice all future applicants, please seek admission for courses that starts in January or February (it's a very good insurance policy).
Let's not loose track of the matter at hand. The scholarship scheme is not a right and NDDC is not the enemy. Is there anyone that honestly thinks NDDC are not willing to release the list as soon as they can? If the list is not out as quickly as we hope then all the blame might not lie with NDDC.
Now the political me (lol). Let's learn from our mistake in the last election and try to tolerate the devil we know instead of wishing for an angel we don't know. |

Sorry who are you and I'll advice you try to find the distinction between right and privilege. U seem not to know much about those words. The are not actually as interchangeable as you think. geofelx: Making Nigeria work is the responsibility of all of us, be you a prospective or NDDC scholar. The system is what it is today and would continue to get worst because, we are cloth with egocentric and selfish interest as against altruistic and patriotic interest, and this has led to our lack of understanding of what is our right or privilege (no distinction is attempted here). We all have a role to play if we must have a better Nigeria, a better NDDC were things work accordingly, to do this, we must forget our personal interest and sue for altruistic interest. I may not have read the content of the letter in contest, I see nothing wrong in writing a letter of protest of any kind. In better societies the citizenry are the voice of change, thier actions make the system work. NDDC is not working. It is high time we stand up against every inimical, corrupt and ill way truncating our democracy. The NDDC Scholarship is the right/privilege of every deserving Niger Delta Graduate. We are made to write test because the resources of NDDC cannot serve every qualified Niger Deltan. We must learn to speak and fight for our right and privileges as citizens. |

Abi oooo. Lets leave the whole thing to God... Not especially when there is nothing you can do about it yourself. I dont know who ever told these people that Protesting against the commission would give them the scholarship or expedite anything. Lets just all chill, defer your admission if u have to, you could also start trying to get admission for schools that have January(Winter) or March/May (Spring)., within or outside Uk, whether one or two years (for masters). I know the commission will loosen up on some of thos rules of 1year masters and all that, since they cant rreally blame those that lost or deferred their admission. Even if u want to still use the deferred admission for next year sept, its still ok. Even better, cos all that really need to be done is school fees payment, and no one said u cant pay school fees for next year sept resumption in January. Then u wld even now have much time to gather up before leaving. I may not be all that correct about the whole thing. Buh bottom line is once you get the scholarship, I dont think its that easy to loose it, especially when the mishaps are not ur fault. Obsc: There's no need fighting here. I foresee a situation whereby those fighting have insiders monitoring their names but it seems those insiders don't know whereabouts of the list now, hence their action. For me, My help shall come from God. This isn't the first scholarship I have been denied but I'm still progressing. |

For clarity and reference purpose, here is what I wrote on the thread that was wrongly created for protest or whatever it was called, by an unknown "ypzilanti" who came to put the link here as seen in his/her quoted comment below:::: As a prospective scholar of this same scheme also awaiting the release of the list. I wish to say on behalf of all other scholars (except those that may come here to state otherwise) that this fellow who wrote this epistle is on his or her own. The prospective scholars never at any point convened to reach any agreement to this effect as being done by this so called "ypzilanti" person. So I'll encourage who ever is reading or have read the epistles written below to change all "We" to "I", as the writer acted or is acting alone. I am not an elected spokesperson, but one thing I know for sure is that the person who wrote this wasn't also elected either, I only speak from the statistics of those (prospective scholars) who have expressed clearly on the main (official) thread for the 2016/2017 scholars that they are not and don't want to be part of this so called protest. I therefore urge the writer of this to openly identify his or herself in order for who the commission being addressed would be fully aware of the exact person addressing them.... #CommonSense ypzilanti: https://www.nairaland.com/3366569/sspected-fraud-nddc-scholarship-list

I therefore urge the writer of this to openly identify his or herself in order for who the commission being addressed would be fully aware of the exact person addressing them.... #CommonSense ypzilanti: The Niger Delta Development Commission in May, 2016 called for a Computer Based Test of all intending scholars by text message who wished to pursue their Masters and Doctorate degrees abroad – with an official release of this list of successful candidates of the Computer based test published on the NDDC website much later in July. In June 2016, before the list of successful candidates in the computer based test was even published online; interviews were conducted for the successful candidates who were contacted by text messages. As at the 21st of September 2016, the finalized list of successful candidates had not yet been released. 90% of students applied to UK schools which are scheduled to resume between the second week in September to October 2016 with most enrolment deadlines in October. As we speak to date; we are yet to receive news from NDDC. Here are a few details: 1. The NDDC did not communicate the reasons for this delay. All efforts to get a response from the authorities have proved abortive. 2. There are rumors that the successful scholars list is being tampered with. 3. Many have already lost their admissions. 4. Many are unable to defer as most Uk schools only have September Intakes; meanwhile the Nddc scholarship is only Valid for a limited time from when issued. Thus are on the verge of loosing their admissions. 5. The Visa process alone takes about a month 6. The 2015/2016 set of scholars had to write several letters and stage protests before their allowances were finally paid without a public apology. Their videos can be found on YouTube. 7. The future of the brightest minds from the oil producing states is being mortgaged for the benefits of a few. 8. The lack of integrity and structure is laughable. Other scholarship bodies like PTDF have duly finalized details with their intending scholars who are now; this moment already abroad settling properly into school. 9. This chaotic manner of governance has been said to be the order of the day, a bitter pill which we must swallow since “we are not the only set to face this”. We write to say that this is unacceptable and that the scholars who have made it to the final stage and the youth of the Niger Delta Area demand a response from the commission and delivery of their promise to serve the people in truth and integrity. We demand the following: 1. A public statement and apology indicating why the list has been delayed for so long. 2. A swift release of the award list and letters so that September scholars can proceed to obtain Visas and resume school salvaging the admissions left. 3. A swift release of the full monies for tuition and upkeep immediately to the schools and students upon arrival in order not to repeat the evils and delays as in the previous sets who received their monies some 8months after arrival. We are aware that given NDDCs past record with the scholars and youth of this scheme, these claims may be denied, refused and sought to be stifled..snuffed out from the public eye with grandiose arguments lacking simple evidence. My dear citizens; what may we gain by concocting such stories?…absolutely nothing. But there is much selfish gain on the other side after all they fight for no cause and stand to gain immensely from fixed accounts gathering interest on the monies and necks of the helpless. The citizens are greater than the elected. Let us speak up. Let us share this across all platforms. There is hope. Signed on behalf of NDDC (Niger Delta Development Committee) Prospective Scholars.

What is senseless about the letter? What else were you expecting? Is just unfortunate that a handful is taking its time to push while the rest sit to abuse, cause and all.
NDDC Scholarship scheme is your full right and not a privilege. You have the right to scold the commission when they fall short of their obligations.
I have not really taken to the media and when I start you'll all hear from me.

Just went thru page 70 and 71 of this thread and didn't know who's comment to quote exactly... Geeez. can't believe this stupid protest thing is really happening. some people don't really deserve being scholars at alllllllllll. The twitter thing was a dumb move. then the nairaland thread thing is the definition of stupid... and those singing the scholarship is their right, do they know the definition of "right"?. why then did they go and right test to claim their right?...Well lemme not say all thats on my mind at a go... But who ever is making all these moves, just endeavor you write your name on what ever you put out, and claim full responsibility for your actions. Its to annoying to know that people who wanna go study abroad and claim scholars are so dumb to know that any action that tries to make this loud is detrimental. Ok, lets say EFCC really hears you ans start investigation, what do u think will happen? oh that will make the list come out fast abi?... actually that would only make them suspend the whole process pending investigations, thats if they don't even start to think of shutting down the commission. Be there claiming right, you here... Just make sure you make it clear you are not talking for everyone. Why is the person hiding self. if he or she is not a coward, why not come here and be proud of wat u did, so that if it works we will lord you... Junky.. |

BrOs I totally disagree with you. You are actually sounding like the opposite of what we intend or feel we should do here. Read your epistle and even u would smell protest which is the notion no one wants to give here. Did u imagine how it will sound if u were asked where u came from on ur visit to the HQ and 1 says benin, the other says ondo and another says Akb, that wld be a protest, cos coming all that far only to inquire is senseless. If u went thru the thread well u wld see wat was suggested is that those already in PH should only go on a less Official setting. C'mon... I don't even really get ur point. Aside that i know some people like u said are selfish with info. Then about others not in the forum. Wat do u want us to do, go and advertise on tv that all nddc scholars should join the forum on nairaland. i know some people not here, and sometimes they call me to ask how far, and I tell them anytin I know or got from here that I feel may be valid. Abeg make we dey use our mind. If you're in PH and don't wanna go, its fine, buh don't try to satisfy ur guilt by pointing fingers at those far away. Wetin u want? Make each state send 10 delegates go PH?..lol.. Then I tink LacyG even went self and has even given us some of the info we need self GeneralSnipper: Hi All,
My concern is that many of us want others to visit the NDDC HQ for them but we are not putting ourselves in their situation. Try to imagine if it was you in PH and be sincere with the house if you will volunteer to go there or not.
I see a lot of selfish statements been made here and I am sorry if I hurt anyone for writing this. I'm just worried that people cannot reach an agreement in a small forum like this. I have been on other forums in nairaland and can tell the difference from my little experience. It leaves a lot of room for doubt if I have to be honest with myself. This is why I have refused to respond to anyone sending me PMs from here because I believe it is for personal gain and not for everyones benefit.
So must it be PH people alone that will sacrifice for the forum? Please do not also forget that there are others who followed the process that are not on this forum. If I may ask, who represents them? That is why we have various means of communication and as long as it is used decently and effectively I do not see any reason why it will cause any harm. Unless we stay together from here we may not get any tangible result. I bet you its possible that some people in this forum have some inside information. Again I am sorry to say that, but this is how we have made our country look.
I think it is very unfair to ask for help that you cannot give. Please feel free to criticize any part of my statement. It is just my opinion, I can be wrong and I am open to correction.
Good luck to Everyone... Thank You! |

I concur with the idea of those in PH paying a friendly visit. And like vic wonder said, the key would be politeness.. As in the highest height of it... Any Statement that sound controversial or protest-like shouldn't come outta ur mouth. Matter of fact all the person or people need to do it nod after stating ur reason for coming. If I were you, if the commission says sometin for instance like, we have alot on our plate and we may not go on with the scholarship. I will give a big smile and say sometin funny like "that would be painful ooo. But I think I do understand why"... Don't get too official, being too official makes people put up a guard, which you wont want wen dealing with someone who owes you nothing... For the letter Idea. Dneroomero already sounds lik3 someone who will do it with or without approval , I know the sound of people who almost already wanna go ahead with their plan. And I can't say I blame him, cos we all feel the pain or wat ever in our different ways. Well. I'll just say paste the letter here. So people review it like you said... My only advice is just don't make it sound in anyway like its a letter that a group of people decided to send even if u make it anonymous. Group of people is equal to protest. Thats why even the visit to their office idea, I wld even advice for it to be just a person. Buh if not not more than 3, and the 3 should go like friends who know each other before. Whether or not they really do. As in the idea should be just 2 or 3 friends who did well in the test and interview and are optimistic, so just wanna be updated. Thats all...... #my own opinion ooo. |
