Please does this mean an MSc. applicant is supposed to have a definite project topic already? An opportunity to face PTDF scholarship interview panel is one you want to make good use of. As someone who has been there twice (Masters and PHD) and aced the interviews. Here are some keys you should note if you want to be adequately prepared for the interview.

Points to note on PTDF scholarship interview:


1.Both MSc and Ph.D. candidates will face the interview panel.Barring any changes, there will be no “CBT test” in 2020 as in other years (2019, 2018). Although, MSc candidates can practice some past questions to deepen technical and general knowledge.

2.The interview will be conducted by a panel of about 4 interviewers, that is 2 – 3 PTDF HR-personnel, and one or two persons from theacademic community (Usually university professors.)

3.Each member of the panel has a copy of your application details and academic credentials, documents, and resume. The list of documents you are to take with you to the center will be stated inthe final invitation email that will be sent to you.

4.For MSc candidates, you will be asked questions relating to yourMSC project.

5.There is no specific question format for an individual candidate,rather the questions will be based specifically on your statement of purpose (for Msc.) and your thesis (Ph.D. candidates)

6.Just like the aptitude test, PTDF interview questions are of twokinds; General questions and Technical questions. Questions willbe asked randomly in no particular order.

7.The interview session will be quite short and will normally lastfor between 10 – 15minutes per candidate.

8.The interviewers will score you based on your Communication skills, Adaptability to new environment, and also your Analytical Skills. Your academic records will also play an important role in selection.

Advice:


1. Research about the school/country you applied to.

2.Familiarize with your final year project (if you are an MSC candidate), then your MSc thesis/research proposal if you are a Ph.D candidate.These two will play a vital role in whether you will be selected or not.

3.Take note of your references and citations. Check to make sure they are up to date

4.Get familiar with your statement of purpose, or thesis as the case may be. Why you want to study that course. How your work will impact positively on, and add value to the Nigerian the oil and gas industry. How your training will contribute to local content development.

5.Familiarize with PTDF mandate, vision, and mission. Prepare to answer questions relating to that.

6.Be confident even if you don’t know the answer to a question. If you don’t know it, say you don’t. But if you have an idea, do not hide your opinion.

7. Identify a gap in the oil and gas industry and why you want to fill that gap. Make this point known in your responses.

8.Appearance matters.

Lastly, you should always hope on God to help and guide you. All the best!

Please before people start getting misconceptions.. Dangote is actually a great place to start, so let's not get it twisted. From what I gathered before the screening then (not confirmed tho), the pay is good, even at the trainee level, it's better than some bank pay. Heard trainee around 80k (with accommodation taken care of, in form of an hostel), then from 120 above or so, when absorbed. So who ever gets it and is currently doing nothing or doing something you don't like, grab it with 2 hands o... Its one of the way to start am engineering career.... Just felt like saying this before anyone who comes in to see everyone saying they have something better start to think it isn't good. It's actually very good... Wish everyone luck again..

I just got an email that I've been selected... But kinda too late... Moved on... To something actually bigger and better though.... Wish all those who'll be going for it a huge success...

Hello guys, nice discussion up there, and its a good thing to have a thread like this to satisfy our interests. From all indication a good number of us that participated in the recruitment process have not been contacted especially considering the large number of work force that will be needed across the country.

Although I can not rule out the factor of interference by our Political elite, in hijacking the process. I still believe once the State offices are opened we will be contacted accordingly.

Yes its true: BUT NOT ANALYSTS NOR SUPERVISORS.... from what I gathered there was induction on monday for the top bosses (AGM upwards). I don't think any of the supervisors and analysts who were recently contacted have exactly resumed 100% officially. They certainly haven't done induction for those roles...
Also a friend who went to their office last week to make inquiries was told that analysts and supervisors are being contacted in batches.
So I think its safe to say it isn't done yet. Lets just keep praying. What God says will be; will certainly be.

Let me make it clear to everyone. I don't have any info or source. But I know that can't be true that they have contacted "All" successfuls... Come on, like I've told fellow NIRSAL applicants I know. Its to early to conclude now naaaa. Even dem the top guys: Assistant managers and so on, weren't contacted all at once, and they are even way way fewer in numbers than Analsyts and Supervisors. So lets relax. Go on with ur life, but don't dash ur hopes. NIRSAL may even still be contacting people till June. If the company is finally sets up (including head and regional/state offices), and u are still not contacted, then u can conclude that its 100% done for. Not now... There are so many reasons to believe its possible not all have been contacted:

1. They may have only contacted those to fully kick off head office, while others may be pending for the kick off of other outlets.

2. They may be handling it by departments.

3. Remember they have to send these emails individually, not in bulk. Everybody's letter is peculiar (at least the name is different).

These and many other reasons could be possible (note: I often used the word "may", so I'm not saying this is a legit or certain info). But lets not stick with just the reasons why we tink its over.

Anyways sha. Only saying my mind.

Information reaching me has it that the list for successful candidates has been compiled, what's causing the delay is the materials to be used by the candidates and again the residential is under going face lift.
So one can only hope and pray that his/her name is on the list and of course exercise patience till call up

From sources in Nirsal and some few contact i have that went for the test,1st interview and 2nd interview,I want to tell the house that all the processses for recruitment has been concluded.
I have seen an appointment letter for Assistant Manager who is to resume on Monday
Nirsal are recruiting 72 people based on the advertised positions

You guys know what?.. I think we should stop listening to this guy here called MIDEP... I just thought of something now. I think all he's saying would only kill our faith. Lets think the 3 Hebrew brothers that were thrown into the fire by King Nebuchadnezzar in the Holy Bible. Lets give God the benefit of doubt. This has always been its format of making us loose something just when we are about getting it. We now know this format. So there's no need to panic. Just believe. Well thats for supernatural implications... Let me now go to the reality. Do u know I almost believed the Midep's source story because I felt he was just being realistic. But I just thought of it. The story doesn't match. He said: "due to alot of issues arising from the test". Well last I checked the test was handled fully by Nextzon, until that last interview, everything was handled by Nextzon. Matter of fact, after that last interview the final collation was still handled by nextzon. It was now left for NIRSAL to contact those they want, based on nextzon's report and State quota (they actually intend using federal character from the little I know). The last time I spoke with the lady who often contacted us from Nextzon. She made it clear they were done with every collation and have handed everything to NIRSAL. Question: How is NIRSAL now realizing issues from a test they didn't conduct. Abeg, Midep allow God to use you, don't spread fear and panic...

I later called him. He picked and told me that they are seriously working on it, they we will soon be notified that only the hands needed to prepare our homecoming is what they are putting in place. From my analysis in his speech, the hr and ict (some) has resume to put things in other. Now from my friend at Abuja (Another applicant like us)he confirmed that they (Nirsal) has relocated to a bigger office and they are still working on the place as we speak.
Before the tongue lashing (which i fear pass for Nairaland) i can drop the number of the nirsal guy (the cooper) as i quoted to confirm from him by urselves as long as u don't snitch i gave you the number to confirm yourself.

Whats happening here oooooo. This the wrong time for this place to be silent na. I just confirmed now from one of the Nirsal staff that helped in conducting interview for us that only HR has been called and we would be contacted this month. So just watch out. I collected his Phone no after we finished our interview that day. I was able to get his phone no where i wrote it in my diary. I actually forgot that i collected his no.
Pls make una no bombard me o, i just want us to keep our hopes alive cus Nirsal need us more than we need them.

They called HR people last week Wednesday. They are very few, non of them is an analyst.
I think because they are the ones that will help in our documentation. So expect a call anytime from now.
