What would have happened if that school had not given you admission or there are other schools who will offer admission and funding .

That why people apply to several. It good practise not to put all your eggs in one basket
I understand. Just want to know if it's an issue during the interview.

The course on my i20 is different from what I have on my offer letter

I applied to just one university and got a response almost immediately. Northeastern university, Boston, Massachusetts.

Is there anything wrong with this?

I'm asking because almost everyone is applying to several universities

The mentally retarded toddler who woefully failed the 10,000 jobs interview will be roundly beaten in any election in Imo state.
Uche Nwosu and his pathologically greedy toad of a father inlaw called Rochas will be paid in their own coin for the hardship they have unleashed on Imolites whose only crime was freely voting in this disabled slowpoke.
We can't wait.

it might and it might not ....... The whole process can be subjective . Same way another VO would be absolutely fine with what you have .
I dont really know what to say , you might want to try one more time with what you have
Thanks so much.

The trouble is finding that balance to ensure you are packaged as someone who can come back to Nigeria ... Most medical student go with the path of MPH and then find a way to "match" with residency and the rest is history . MPH have limited opportunities abroad and more in developing countries so if you dont match then really the work is more available back home . This means it easy to sell a medical student going for MPH (as having a potential to return home) than regulatory affairs

the regulatory affairs in the US might not be applicable to Nigeria so it just screams like someone who not coming back which makes it harder to sell . i would not have picked that course , that been said interview is subjective from Vo to VO. another VO might not have an issue with that course .
Thanks so much. Do you suggest I apply for an MPH? Won't it smack of desperation?

Master of science in regulatory affairs for drug biologics and medical devices

The VO is no fool. They know Nigeria quite well. Medical doctors are some of the best paid people in Nigeria and are rarely out of work. The only reason to leave Nigeria for a masters degree is to essentially immigrate. The VO knows that. You can’t fool them with the above story you told.
What's the way out then?

My opinion
I wonder who earns 700k in Nigeria as a lecturer and even if he did, it will not be enough to cover the expenses incurred in medical school.
Secondly, in the US, medicine is studied after your bachelor's. Do you have bachelor's? And i dont think schools offer medicine to international students. Leave medicine. Look for another medical/health related course to do. Afterwards, you can now slide into your med/surg.
I'm already a medical doctor. Going for masters in regulatory affairs
He earns as a lecturer and as a member of the accreditation team of the NBTE
Thanks for the advice. I appreciate.

Hi everyone. I'm quite new here and would have benefited immensely if I had gone through the experiences shared here.
Was denied visa on the 13th of June. Here's a Transcript of what transpired. Pls kindly go through and advise as appropriate.

Me. Good morning ma
Vo. Good morning
Vo. Can I have ur passport and I 20
Vo. Why did you choose northeastern university
Me. No Nigerian university offers my course of choice so I decided to do a quick search on the internet which revealed quite some universities but northeastern university stood out for me primarily because it's located in Boston which is home to some of the best universities in the world and would provide a veritable platform for interfacing with students receiving training from some of the best universities in the world.
Vo. What did you study
Me. Medicine and surgery
Vo. Where
Me. Mentioned my school,
Vo. What do you do presently
Me. I'm a medical officer at a private specialist clinic
Vo. What do you plan to do on completion of studies?
Me. I hope to return to the country to set up a consultancy in regulatory affairs. There's just a single such consultancy in the entire country and I strongly believe that regulatory medicine is the future of medical practice in the country
Vo. Who will sponsor you ?
Me. My dad
Vo. What does he do?
Me. He's a member of the accreditation team of the NBTE and a Chief lecturer at a federal polytechnic
Vo. How much does he earn?
Me. Above 700k monthly
Vo. *types on her computer for sometime* sorry your application does not qualify for a visa.

Please criticize and advice cos I plan to reapply sometime in August

And d doctor also produced d drugs abi
Are drugs produced in the hospital? Is anyone dragging the headship of wherever it is ur drugs are produced?

Did you see any doctor there?

Let the pharmacists go there and become the MDs and CMDs but whenever they get into the hospitals, they should take instructions. Shikena

A whole pharmacist is a mere support staff?

Pharmacy used to be a prestigious course. Has that changed?
They dispense drugs prescribed by a doctor. Is this a big deal?
HealthRe: NMA Threatens To Embark On Strike If FG Yield To The Demands Of JOHESU by Nempi(m): 10:29pm On May 10, 2018
Good one from NMA. One day, a court clerk will demand to be made CJN.
If they're serious, let them disintegrate into their various professional bodies and go on strike individually and let's see if anyone will talk to them.
Let the pharmacists go on strike and see if they'll be remembered even after five years of striking.
They think that by recruiting gatemen, cleaners, receptionist and every Tom, Dick and Harry into their fold they'll automatically become doctors.
There are two categories of staff in a hospital... The doctors and the support staff. Simple.

Bunch of lazy inferiority complex stricken retards.

Anyone who quotes me to talk nonsense will die of Ebola.

Yes. All I need to certify a patient dead are my stethoscope and my pen torch. You don't have to bring the patient into the hospital before I can check the patient with those. And I can quickly check for all signs of death within 30 seconds.

Nobody likes bad press. If I allow you to bring an already dead body into my hospital, what will start flying around is that he/she died right in my hospital or due to negligence on my part. Again, nobody wants to make the news for the wrong reasons, especially here in Nigeria where people "dive" into conclusion without verifying information.
Chief, you really have time for illiterates. Maybe they expected the doctor run ECG and EEG while instituting BLS and ACLS on a corpse with rigor Mortis.

Nigerians and their silly hypocrisy.
