cheruv: Joey abeg no mind that Rukwo guy...its their hatred for anything Igbo that put Rivers where it is today and quite unfortunately, the ihuruohna are using their methods against them with great effect The ndoki were separated against their will from their kiths just north across the dew river(Igbo:Anyim Imo) due to Ijo greed in 1976 and in as much as they've been demanding since then to be carved back to Abia, they reserve every right to produce the next governor of Rivers state. Even the first governor of Abia state was a man from afikpo by name ogbonnaya onu and that didn't stop sani abacha from carving afikpo zone of Abia into Ebonyi state. So while we're waiting for obigbo to be carved back to Abia state where they'd join their kith there, its pertinent that they produce the Governorship after wike
Ndoki wu oli Chukwu gozhie nde ndoki/asa no n'abia na Rivers. Chukwu gozhie Ali Igbo dum
The question is what progress has the Ndoki people in Abia made, are they faring better than the ones in Rivers or you are just repeating this anti-Rivers sentiment that most Igbos have,
joeprince23: we ar marginalised in many ways, infrastructural project present else whr are lacking in oyigbo. all we hear ar empty promises from both amaechi and now wike, omehia would have been better
So take your grievances to the governor or the oil companies in the lga
joeprince23: the land where iriebe housing extate was built by wike is originally asa land. now they call it iriebe land, iriebe itself is in obio/akpor lga. and please restrict ur post to rivers state thank you
Why are responding to comments I didn't direct at you
joeprince23: wabara is from ndoki but he is from across the boundry in abia, i was responding to ur question to show u that ndoki from abia fair a lot better than us in rivers.
But they have not produced a governor, or is it Ndoki senator in Rivers state dat u are looking for, these are 2 different issues, so I ask again how have they fared better, Wabara sef no be today?
joeprince23: wabara was surpported by the entire state in abuja and right now an ngwa is governor.( mind u in abia it is usually ukwa-ngwa)
So Ngwa is one lga And how is it in Rivers state? Is it not upland/ riverrine or by senatorial district, oyigbo is in south east senatorial district now under this arrangement how has Ndoki been marginalized, lets start there
Amarabae: we complain about both states government neglect of our land in terms of development. The same way you guys want an ijaw governor in Rivers, thats show people always speak up cout a percieved injustice. We are in oyigbo lga, other Asa people fell in ukwa lgas of Abia, atleast the ones in Abia have held some key positions in Abia government, but what about us in Rivers?
So you see, He that comes to equity must come with a clean hand, the same way you want justice for your people is the same way I will love it for my own people.
Has Asa or Ndoki produced a governor in Abia state?
Amarabae: hate ijaw? What for? No, hate is not in my blood. God Forbid. State creation affected both Igbos, ijaws and many tribes, my Asa people were split into two, we fell into Rivers, some in Abia, ijaws also faced that, there are ijaws who felled in ondo, edo etc we are not controlling our oil, No Asa/Ndoki man has an oil bloc but there are oil in our land. The same with ijaws we have a common enemy, why don't we focus on fight harder for resource control and stop this unnecessary animosity. About the ijaw governor thread, I suggested innocently an Ogoni man taking over from wike, your brother Tonyebarcanista attacked my post. Is Rivers made up of only okrika land? I married outside the state, I can come back tomorrow and contest for something in Rivers, its constitutionally backed as long as oyigbo lga is part of the state. I have nothing against your people nor hate them, let peace reign
I agree with you but your progressive mindset is because u are originally from Rivers state, d same can't be said abt the rest, and why do Asa ppl always complain about being in Rivers state have you guys seen the state of Abia state
Amarabae: you must be an ijaw guy,why do you guys love to interfare on other people issue. there is obeakpu, they are ndokis. I am an Asa lady from the same local government(oyigbo lga) as that guy, though married out. I laughed yesterday when your brother Tonyebarcanista said that I have no say on Rivers issue.. Learn to respect people's opinion.
Don't let your resentment for Ijaws blind you like these ipob folks, I didn't know Asa ppl now speak for Ndoki Anyways check through his post and notice his mistakes devoid of sentiment , he is clearly an Impostor
989900: That was how much they will buy from you as at yesterday evening. Enter market or make calls . . .
Nigeria needs oil to be at $100 if Nigeria is not making changes to her old ways; not if she does -- Nigeria is not Qatar nor Kuwait, she is more than oil. I wonder why you're always bitter when the Naira appreciates.
From N520 (When I advised you it will soon crash) to N385-N407 range -- that's some journey in the right direction.
There is no need being political about this, an exchange rate of 385-407 can be the right direction unless if Zimbabwe is who you are following
joeprince23: The Ndoki are an Igbo-speaking group which inhabit a vast area located around the southern most fringe of the Imo river and sprawls into three states of Nigeria, namely Abia, Akwa Ibom and Rivers.we are historically mainly farmers, traders and fishermen. for the sake of my writing i will restric to rivers state were he inhabit oyigbo and omuma lga. OYIGBO: Oyigbo (also Obigbo) is a town 30 kilometers from the port city of Port Harcourt and a Local Government Area of Rivers State , Nigeria . It is a satellite of Port Harcourt . Sir Precious Oforji was elected Chairman of the Oyigbo LGA in 2008. [2] HRH EZE MIKE NWAJI was installed the traditional of Obigbo since 1998 to date. SPDC operates several oil well in the LGA. Eastern Network Gas Pipeline (Alscon pipeline) passes through Obigbo in the north. Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and the Rivers State Government under Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi pledged to work together to restore production activities at the Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC operated Obigbo Gas plant. on June 28, 2015, SPDC JV’s announced that its Afam VI located in Okoloma village of Ogbigbo has delivered 20million MWh electricity into national grid and created over 150 jobs. the alleged power plant sold by hon. chibuike .r. amaechi is located at afam town in oyigbo lga However since the creation of new rivers state no governor of NDOKI extraction has been elected as the executive governor of rivers state. their is a consensus across ndoki-asa land that come 2019 equity must prevail. till date ndoki etche and ogoni remain the only groups yet to produce the governor of our state. enough is enough. we are the second largest oil producing lga in rivers behind ONELGA, we have the population and resource. just like etche, ndoki has over the years suffered a great deal of neglect both in appointment and of infrastructure, with delapedated roads and pollutaed environment, all we are saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! All Ndola sons and daughters KWA nu o!! Oyigbo District 1. Asa 2. Komkom 3. Obeama 4. Oyigbo Ndoki District 1. Afa Uku 2. Afam 3. Afam Nta 4. Azusogu 5. Egberu 6. Mgboji 7. Mrihu 8. Obeakpu 9. Obeta 10. Obumku 11. Okoloma 12. Okponta 13. Umuagbai 14. Umuosi
Its obeaku, this clearly shows u just googled NDOKI and wrote this & the self acclaimed Ndoki man joeprince23 didn't notice this mistakes
joeprince23: not true,it is only in nairaland that such is rampant. infact an illiterate kalabari man will call most upland dialect igbo. i once had a hard time convincing my friend nengi that i can speak a rivers dialect, to them ndoki ikwerre or etche dialects ar all igbo and do not count, mind u nengi is a graduate
Before you wer trying to convince Ogoni people that ikwerre is a Rivers dialect now its kalabari, u no dey tire?
robosky02: 3. Stephen Okechukwu Keshi (23 January 1962 – 7 June 2016) was a Nigerian football defender (captain) and manager.
During his playing career, Keshi earned 60 caps for the Nigerian national football team, making him the nation's second-most capped player at the time of his retirement. He represented the country at the 1994 FIFA World Cup and the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations, captaining the Super Eagles to victory in the latter. He also played club football in five countries, most notably Belgium, where he won the Belgian league championship with R.S.C. Anderlecht in 1991.[3]
As a manager, Keshi achieved success by qualifying Togo for the only FIFA World Cup appearance in its history in 2006.[4] However, he left the position prior to the tournament and was replaced by Otto Pfister. He later coached his native Nigeria, where he became one of only two people, along with Egypt's Mahmoud El-Gohary, to have won the Africa Cup of Nations as both a player and a coach.
Hati13: I'm Ethiopian, but I will not be biased. Yes, there are beautiful girls/women, but it's not like it's exaggerated by some. Most people who say they are beautiful is because they have European features in them. Those people mind is westernized and when ever they see them they will relate to them and will say most Ethiopians are beautiful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and for me there are some unattractive. Those unattractive ones may also be attractive to others. So all the things you heard about Ethiopia women is exaggerated. I definitely think that all African women are beautiful in their own regard.
If I may ask you a question, from where country are you from? If there are multiethnic groups in your country, from where ethnic group are you from and also what is your mother tongue language? Tnx!
Tanks again brother hope to visit there one day, you all seem like lovely people

I am a Nigerian, from the southern part also known as the Niger Delta, and Ijaw by ethnicity(the 4th largest tribe in Nigeria with 10% of Nigeria), we(Ijaws/izon apu) are maritime people and live by fishing, supplemented with farming and are blessed with crude oil processed for export, we are primarily Christians but also have elaborate traditional religious practices of our own. Veneration of ancestors plays a central role in Ijaw traditional religion, while water spirits, known as Owuamapu features mostly in the Ijaw pantheon
Some popular Ijaw people
Former President Goodluck Jonathan Agbani Daerego(Miss World 2001, first black African to win the title) Rex Lawson, Timi Dakolo, Timaya, Mr 2kay, Harry song( musicians) Asari Dokubo(Freedom Fighter) Ben Murray Bruce( Politician & founder silverbird ) Atedo Peterside(founder Ibtc)
Food
Like many ethnic groups in Nigeria, the Ijaws have many local foods that are not widespread in Nigeria. Some of them are:
1. Polofiyai: A very rich soup made with yams and palm oil.
2. Kekefiyai: A pottage made with chopped unripened (green) plantains, fish, beef and palm oil
4. Fried or roasted fish and plantain: Fish fried in palm oil and served with fried plantains.
4. Gbe: The grub of the raffia-palm tree beetle that is eaten raw, dried, fried in groundnut oil or pickled in palm oil.
5. Kalabari “sea-harvest” fulo: A rich mixed seafood soup or stew that is eaten with fufu, rice or yam.
Language
Ijaws speak 9 Niger-Congo languages originating from the Ijoid branch of the Niger-Congo tree. Approximately 1 million people speak Izon which belongs to the Eastern Ijo division of the language. The second most prominent sub-language, Kalabari belongs to the Western Ijo division and is the mother tongue of 500,000 speakers.
Hati13: I'm a couple of days old in this forum and I'm trying to interact with my fellow members. I'm learning a lot about other countries here and I'm very grateful for it, but I also want to tell about my country, so any(culture, social, economic and so on......) questions is appreciated.
And another thing, is it true that there are no 'ugly' Ethiopian women, I heard they have the most beautiful women in Africa
Hati13: Hi, Tnx for asking. The Ethiopian Jews are called Beta Israel. Most of them(about 125000) are found in Israel and very few can be found in northern Ethiopia and USA. There is controversy if most of them are the original Jews or just converted to Judaism. But it is a fact that all the Ethiopian Jews have Cushitic and other Afroasiatic linkage.
There are different theories for there origins. Some Beta Israel believe that they came to Ethiopia by the people who companion menelik I(king Solomon and Queen of Sheba child) from Jerusalem to Ethiopia, while others believe that they came from Egypt from the tribe of Dan during their exile in Egypt. There are also many other theories, so it's very complicated.
In the 10th century, a Queen called Yudith brought much distraction to the Christian kingdom of Axum. Some say she was Beta Israel(most agreed), while others say she only formed alliance with the Beta Israel. Throughout the 2nd millennium, there were continues war between Beta Israel and the Abyssinia(Ethiopia) empire. There was time when there kingdom was large, but now they(those who are in Ethiopia) area is very small.
There were many operations to transfer the Beta Israel to Israel, but the most famous ones were operation Moses(1984-85) and operation Solomon(1991).
Okay thanks, now i know a little abt dere ancestry but how about their language & culture is it in anyway Jewish

Hello, i would like to know about the Ethiopian Jews
gocac: what a shameful, misleading, very divisive and useless write up! what is the meaning of Rivers Ijaw? where has it ever been spoken or heard of? to set the record straight, if the kalabari and okrika man thinks this new name they are bearing (Rivers ijaw) would help them, they should have a rethink. bayelsa state as a whole put together is not and can never be equated to the population of the ogonis, etchesand ikwerres in Rivers state put together, while ikwerre alone have over 54 % of Rivers land mass and an over whelming majority as long as Rivers state is concerned this can be verified officially. the ogonis and etches have over 41% of Rivers land mass, the remaining 5% belongs to the so called rivers ijaw. plz note that my statistics which is also verifiable is based on land mass, not rivers or creeks. it is pitiable that an okrika man and a kalabari man would want to terminate their identity, (extinction of their identity which is okrika and kalabari) respectively, for a new name rivers ijaw,lol... for the records there is nothing like Rivers ijaw! this (join body) strategy or ploy is dead on arrival. if you think your a rivers man and at the same time an ijaw man, please start relocating to bayelsa that is where you will be a Governor in 2019. not in rivers state.
1. in the interest of equity and justice other ethnic groups in Rivers must have a taste of the brick house.
2. the ogonis have not tasted and must have a taste after an ikwerre man or an etche man.
3. an etche man is also entitled to have a taste of the brick house after an ikwerre man or ogoni man.
4. the Kalahari's and okrika's as far Rivers state is concern is and remains a minority.
5. the okrikas have had a taste of the brick house even as a minority that is less than 3% of Rivers population, so what do they want when the ogonis, etches, ahaodas, e.t.c. are yet to have a taste??
6. for the records the riverine population is less than 16% of rivers population. this is why they have resorted to come in a new name rivers ijaw, this is purely a shameful political calculation that cant work in Rivers state, like it worked in delta state. (join join body, give yourselves a name that would make you look big) lol.... wise one though.
7. for the records, no riverine man can be a Rivers Governor in River state, without winning in ikwerre land, ogoni land and etche land. fact! so dont waste your time ,verifiable so just tell yourselves the gospel truth.
8. if you are ijaw, why were you not carved into bayelsa state
9. on the issue of how peter odili who is from ndoni, a very small minority became a gov in rivers state, i want to put it straight, this was a political ploy by the riverine to further keep the majorities, like the ikwerres, ogonis and etches out of power. due to their over whelming dominance in river politics and desire to hold sway. because as at 1999 even as a minority the riverine had all the political gladiators, king makers, who were detecting for every single rivers son and daughter including the the then Gov Odili. if i am wrong, why was an ogoni or even an etche man not anointed Gov by the riverine? even if you were scared of the ikwerres who were and is the outright majority in Rivers state. who even signed or fabricated that lies, evil and injustice called upland and riverine dichotomy? has that your evil dichotomy ever worked in rivers state? so when you the riverine were busy taking turns in the brick house why did you not apply upland and riverine dichotomy?
10. it does not matter which ethnic group is gov or not, the most important thing is a gov that would deliver.
11. please stop feeling marginalized, because you were able to monopolize and marginalize the majorities of rivers state with your less than 16% population.
finally, please note that the ijaws left rivers state in 1996 when bayelsa was carved out if rivers state by Gen sani abacha. so dont deceive yourselves with that slongan (Rivers ijaw), lol.... funny people. you are kalabari, you are okrika. lol, no change of name, no document in Rivers state has Rivers ijaw. if you were ijaw as you claim you wouldn't have been left behind by the ijaws, It is a Rivers state for all... kalabaris and okrikas please it would get to your turn, wait for your turn, There are still other ethnic groups aside ikwerres that have not tasted the brick house. you have enjoined it for many many years before now, dont blame anybody for your under development. Long live Rivers state! Long live Nigeria!
Do you know the difference between a clan and a tribe?
These guys have sold themselves out, the Ikwerres will continue until they have developed every nook and cranny of their land and installed their people in every possible leadership position e.g. Vice Chancellors, Members of council, heads of parastatals, etc.
At best the ijaws can make road via federal level if they align with Dakuku and Amaechi but pride will not allow so let them be.
Wike will do a second term and handover to either Orashi or Ogoni person. The Opobo people don't consider themselves Ijaws per se.
Are you an Ibani man? Keep these your divisive ipob statements to yourself, is the vp of Ijaw youth council not from Opobo
