this thing no b fight. and i believe you're taking this too far. as for my post, i was talking to all web designers in this country. and as for the page, sorry website link u posted, with all due respect kids abroad wuld do that in 40mins or much lesser sef. so i was'nt expecting it to cost much. i never said nobody shuldnt design a site for 4 k did i. (if i did please quote me). Sorry but i need to ask, when u are asked for you portfolio, wuld u be proud to present 'http://www.justwebservices.com/bwebsite/' as part of it? (trythfully,i wuld'nt). some people wuld agree with me that web design to day is not all about functionality, although functionality is core. thats why we have web designers. If u are a web developer its a different thing. In that case, all u care about is the functionality of a website. fine. But the topic if i may remind u is '  Abeg, who are this people DESIGNING websites for 4k ' not developing. I AM NOT A WEB DEVELOPER. i'm a web designer. i don't write large sums of codes, i do little of those things. i have programmers that i work with to handel that. if u knew the owner of www.sigmanetmobile.net, he'll tell u i did it for him free.

As regards your 'Reality Check' questions?

It really depends on who u roll with. if u belong to the group of people designing sites for 4-10k what in the world do u want to offer someone that wants to pay about 100k because his/her taste is definitly high. what do u want to offer them, your normal 10k sites? good. let it b. they might even price it to 7k. thats nigeria for u. I was in VI sometime ago to design a site for one company like that, when i finish and went to submit the site for review, the owner of the company and a group of people of people inluding 2 white men sat me down and were asking me question about just one page. things like: 'why i t this picture here', what does that line mean there', would people understand what this picture is saying' , thats web design. if u dey design normal flat sites, what i there is explan? thats why we are web designers. so if im taing my time to type all this, its not because i want to insult people but to propose a way forward.


A lot of people wuld pay more if only WEB DESIGNERS are confident of their works and can prove to clients what have good functional websites can really do for tham not the everyday bla bla bla.

Afam i see u are a web developer or programmer sef. that does'nt make u a web designer. (creating a web page does'nt make u a web designer either. just like making a java aplet with text boxes doesnt make one a programmer.)

mr. afam. i thnink most people understand what u are driving at. the whole shout in this post doesnt stop anybody from designing a site for whatever prices they like. But the fact still remains

that things like this don't make webdesigners move forward. when u are told of a site that was designed for 4k u definitly know what to expect. so for those who think it better to design a 4k

website for a thousand clients than to wait for a much better offer, then just where does ur creativity comes in for nigerian web designers.by the time u keep designing this type of sites u'll find

out that only a particular set of people come to u. no b curse but u'll never make it in this industry. do u guys remember the topic that got most people (web designers/developers including

others) mad "All webdesigner in nigeria are amateures"? i really dont blame the guy because most of the things he sees are 4k sites not creativity. TO PROVE ME WRONG, IF U HAVE DESIGNED A

Lets bring out the creativity in ourselves if u are designing a website for 4k fine, but do somthing that when people see they go wow. and im sure that for a web designer to site down and

design a stunning site, even if its a 1page site, it cant go for 4k lai lai, if u start designing cool sites today? nobody wuld ask u how much the site costs o. the replies u'll get r: hey gud work

and thats were it start people wuld start calling 4m every angle because they know they wuld get what they want.

hey gdi, i checked ur nairaland wallpaper. its nice. but the thing is, i noticed people dont really like just green on their desktop or shades of green. try to bring in another color and people will love it even more. nice work though.

apart from :mamaput, Soshio & michelin89, the rest of u girls have the typical nigerian girl mentality. Talkin about best friends like you give a damn. The girl obviously cares about her best friend if not she would need anybody's opinion on anything. im sure some of you other girls have done worse things to you bestfriends. (Atleast the poster has a concience). Having a boyfriend or girlfriend is not like buying a bag. there's always a connection. I'll advice you to just trash the whole thing out. nobody would kill you. let every other person jump into the river if they like.

God would have desired us to lead a life of material detachment. But we have completely disconnected ourselves from God instead.

We are plundering the earth for our unsustainable needs and destroying our soul over ego and pride. Doing good is being God-like. But we have become un-God-like with the many wrong choices we have made.

We must remember that God is omnipresent. He resides in everththing, in all of us, and his most preferred abode is a kind and compassionate heart.

thanks man, acctually the gallery is in flash where you have all the pictures on the left in thumbnails and u click to see a larger view on the right. this is just a demo for the interface of the site. there are a bunch of other things not included on the site like music animations etc. but thanks anyway.

ahh, sister take am easy now. I can bet 4k that with all the richies you have, you can't design a website for 4k, you'll rather do it free. I design websites and its not pride that makes me say i can't design a site for 4k. what am i suppose to use 4k for? 1 one hour i don finish the money. If you are designing websites as a majour source of living you'll understand what i'm talking about. it might be easy for you but there are other people with potential in this business but are treated like crap. Why should you collect 4k for a site. I DONT EVEN DESIGN LOGOS FOR 4K. If you design sites for people for 4k in this country, thats how they'll rate you for what ever other job you do. PLEASE DON'T DESIGN SITE FOR 4K. ABEG. FOR YOUR OWN GOOD. KUKU DO AM FREE.

Has abby got you guys confused or are you guys confusing yourself. What does it take to be a pro? she na your flash or na your code or na your navigation. Most of the people that have posted their sites on this topic might not have cool sites and all but you just can't say their sites are not professional or they are not pros. Wetin dey the STONEWALL+ site sef? tell me. she na flash. e don finish. is that site professional? is it? compare stonewall.co.za to microsoft.com tell me which is more professional despite the fact that there is little or no animations on microsofts site. TRUE we neva reach the level wey south africa dey for web design but that does'nt make us amateurs. its like comparing south african designers to american designers. e possible? ok compare www.stonewall.co.za to www.2advanced.com tell me what you think. all the things abby dey talk na pure STORY. Professionalism is not about having flashy sites. Flashy sites are just flashy like the name applies. No come dabaru our head for here.
