haba, i don turn dream killer just like that. i dont want the guy to change anything man. the name's just funny thats all. it name makes it sound more like a product than a joint. that definitly does'nt mean he should change it let alone think of changing it. everyone has their own source of inspiration which i dont question. and as far as i know? u r the one raising issues here. if anyone was to reply to that post it should'nt have been you. do u own it? or were u also paid to be his lawyer? there's no issue here except for the ones u are raising. it's funny the way you have suddenly become sensitive to eveything. this is definitly not the kemji i know. and i am very disappointed. and i understand if u don't care. the fact that you won the competition alone should inspire you to improve, it doesnt mean u are the best logo designer on nairaland. i can count 5 other people that would do better than you here on nairaland minus myself. i see you talking trash to people like soji and it really annoys me. that man is not your mate. from his replies im sure you can tell. get a grip of yourself and stop acting 'a fool.

em, this is a "Joint" we are talking about right? not a restaurant. i want to believe there's a different between both. correct me if am wrong. so kemji's logo fits for a joint. and i like neo's logo. it's simple, fits a restaurant. to talk true, if there were judges in this competition, kemji would have been second. but its a one man show. 9years in the branding business or not, it still comes down to what u (the owner)likes. when it comes down to things like these it does'nt just come down to 'simplified and colourful logo' ur location is also very important. doest that logo fit well into ur area say for example u want to hang a billboard. what kind of people are u inviting in, yahoo boys or  business men. kemji's logo is very good but i can't blame boomtowner too, there were very few entries.

whatever i've said that makes you feel i dont appreciate yours or any other persons review(s) on the borad, i apologize. but the truth is i did'nt put that site up for review. i actually stopped puting my sites up for reviews a while back. the stiry on how this post got here is a long one and im not ready to get into that so i decided to tell people not to post any reviews on it. thing like that tends to make me loose focus on the work. someone is saying this another person is saying that, i get confused. and i have not even started. so please sorry for the confusion.

so im redesigning a client/friend's website, i dont want the table looking kinda stuffs so i made this www.sigmanetmobile.com , and i'll like an outside review of it. like the colours and the whole concept its self in general. its still under construction.

for 3, i have a way of making search engines index those pages with their names like that.

4, i found that a little time consuming and i very lazy, thats why on the top right of every page, you have an image telling you where u are.

hey man, nice one on the compactcommunications. its cool. it looks like something u r still working on though. my comments on the site though are: Try to allign all the text and picture on your site. all text on the site are not properly alligned. but overall its ok. but you can do better. you've got the talent obviously. try to introduce your own unique style to your websites. to differentiate your works from other people. check www.webworkstudio.net/SuperCard its something im still working on but it'll explain everything i want to explain to you better. gud luck man.

are cool sites o, dont get me wrong. I'm a web designer myself so i think im p.r.i.t.t.y sure of what im saying.
When it comes to simplicity and concept i think i just go crazy[literarilly]. Emptiness does not signify
simpliciy. It just does'nt cut it(as far as im concerned). I honestly enjoyed your comments though as regards
both. really well said.To prove my point, i'll give you 2 samples that perfectly fits both simplicity and concept.
Forget the fact that they were designed by americans. The fact is with what i've seen you do, you can do them.

Honestly, you need to change the look of that site. That's the only thing that could solve all these. Because i don't think anybody that has seen and used (or heard of)facebook would sign up with that site. And i think that's where people r having problems with you. Since the site looks alot like facebook, it'll probably do most of the things that facebook does, the question is, if I'm a member of facebook for example, what would want to bring me to your site? which is why i sudgested looks. atleast if it looks different people might not judge that fast, they'll still want to sign up first.

And please note that all these replys are just comments. Coments that are suppose to help you possitively not discorage you from what you are doing. I f you have a problem with some comments either ignor them or ask them what they would have done different. that way we all benefit from each other. which i think the whole forum thing is all about.

im not much of a teacher, but i can explain how i made this particular wallpaper.
The tools i used were Coreldraw and Corelphoto paint.
I used coreldraw for drawing all the line/circles etc. And Cprelphoto paint to add effects to em.

Ok now,

the wallpaper (grey backgroung) consists of different rectangles. The main rectangle is grey while the others are
light grey. i faded the light grey rectangles using the transparency tool (radial).
For the lines, after drawing in coreldraw i copied to photopaint (note that you dont have to draw a particular type
of line. just draw anything)Use the free hand tool in coreldraw for the lines. draw different lines and add different
colours to each one.


To add the smuge effect on the lines (like you have on the yellow,green and orange lines), after copying to
photopaint, click on the line, click on 'effect tool'or press V, choose the Custom smear and drag it on anywhereon the
line and u'll get that effect. U could also use the smudge tool instead of the custom smear tool.(they give
similar effects)

For the circles, im sure you can get around those.

For the bubbles, in photopaint, click on the image sprayer tool or press 'I' on your keyboard, then click on
the dropdown box and look for 'rain drops'. click once for one drop, click and drag for alot.

thats it basically.

ah,ah ! what the hell is all that? no be by force to use corel now. what's there in saying i used photoshop. i mean think of it. I really don't know what to say man. i mean i read your comment and im so pissed off. check all my works on nairaland, i alway tell people i use corel photopaint and i save with .png formats because i like to keep the quality of the images as well as reduce the file size. all i do is export as png from photopaint.

it obvious you are a novice though. to think you can only use fireworks to save in png format. which i totally understand. i could teach you howw to do that in photopaint man, all u need do is ask. i'll even give you the whole file. silly people like you just steer up sh*t for nothing. watch and learn man.

i'm as core as corel can be. lol.

first off, you need to compress the images (not too much so the picture looks horrible) for faster loadin. then get a software like web picture creator (free) to get slide show efects and nice arrangements. if you use frontpage, [click web components, photo gallery, then chose the style you want your pictures to appear. it asks for the location of your pictures. sit back and enjoy cause it generates the thumbnails automatically and puts them in a folder for ya!] hope this saves you a looot of time.

hmmm, afam. once again we meet. perhaps you did't read the thread? nairaland is a public forum not a personal website. its p.r.e.t.t.y obvious you know very little about the web in general and you think the little you know covers all. so let me school you a little bit if you'll allow me. first, there are different types of websites. there those meant to inform people and there are those meant to be functional. for example. a photographer wants a website to showcase his/her works. i bet if i designed a site for him/her the beautiful graphics there would'nt have any place on the web either. huh! have you vivited mcdonalds site? its just burgers everywhere, barly a few codes. You still have alot to learn about this web thing boy. being brilliant is different from being a good business man. now does it sound fare to give mcdonalds and the photographer the same site just with different colours? Have you heard of the word BRAND? do you know what it REALLY means? did you know it also applys to websites? how could you possible compare nairaland and my website (for example) does that make any sense to you? they are both website yes, but they have totally different purposes.

And yes, it is possible for people to ask you to setup websites for them by simply viewing websites you have done. That means they don't need proposals as they may have seen enough from people that claim everything and once they collect money they disappear.

in a million years i could never give you a website to design for me by seing your works. never. (nothing personal though) if i showed my client your works, i might not even get jobs from them anymore. lol. thats how bad u suck in web designing. you never see me in the programming section or arguing about codes cos i don't know much about those things. guys i work with do that part. and thats how its suppose to be. thats why theres web designers and web programmers. and if you r good in both? lucky you.

ah, what can i say. getting a crash course in web programming in NIIT doesnt make one a professional. I totally agree with you. Its not just unporfessional its somthing else (i really don't have the word for it right now). Can't blame 'em though. its either some people just have an absurd way of thinking or they just don't think at all. I have seen a few here recently myself. its a funny coincidence, considering the timimg of this thread. lol. anyways this is really serious. and the point is, people who have a professional way of thinking know its wrong implementing temples for every other client. so people who do that can't be called professionals.

first off, u shuld get all the info dt's goin to be on the site. then sketch out a design, where each information would be on the website. (do the sketching on a paper or smth). basically this is the table style. that would save u a lot of time. when u r done with this, start to think of the design ideas, colours tables e.t.c. when u are satisfied with what u have, start working. did the same thing with a site im working on (fashionidolsonline.com) hope this helps.
