I think you shuld try to separte things a bit. it all looks confusing. atleat have a banner for your logo so it separates top from bottom. you know that site that come out when your domain name has expired, it looks pretty much like it with that google ad on the left.

Men basically, just rearrange. from the look of your work youve got what it takes. nice one and gud luck!

ure obviously getting better man. good stuff. theres smth i noticed tho. there are 2 heads and the effect u wanted to get didnt come out well. u shuld have taken the second one behinde, placed it on the one on top and faded it out. so it looks like something in motion. (im not making sense right? lol) good stuff tho. nice

you've got cool grapix. i must admit. but i've not seen u incorporate that into ur forum. all you cool banners are on the lower right side and only one on top. put some on the top. its a cool thing you got going on there man. and its a lot of work. as a graphics person u need to come up with something that makes that forum look different. either colour or arrangement etc. you'll find people falling in. nice one

lol, thanks. i'll take all ur sudgestions into consideration. really helps. the intro page acctually had under construction on it b4. its there cos im still working on it and a lot of things are gonna be changed into flash formats. so the intro page tells or gives u the requirements u need to view the site properly (e.g download flash player here, screen resolution etc.) placing te site one the left just had to do with me wanting to do smth different from what u see everywhere (trying to be creative) same goes for the colour. with the dull backgroung, you'll agee somthings just pop up or chatch ur attention like the blue parts on the portfolio area, featuted works and the wallpaper below. everything has a reason for being the way they are. what i'll be considering most is reducing the size of images. thanks tho for the comments

microsoft just launched this new search engine (bing) http://www.bing.com/?scope=web&mkt=en-US&FORM=MSNH11 . what do you think? i think it's pritty cool. and they are trying to get back in the game of thinking and innovation rather than it's all business. lol. there are lots of options to customize you search experience. and there alot of things i was expecting but did'nt see. but since they just launched it, i'll like to think they're working on it (or something )

segsalerty, i get your point. for the record, i'm a web designer (not a programmer). but look at it this way. say your friends from secondary school wanted to get togehter (those abroad and here) to chat (u know catch up on old times and all that), and u decide to create a small forum for them (being known as the computer guy). would you rather write you codes from scratch? or pick up cms and do what u gotta do to save time, money and stress. with all due respect (no offence ment please) you'lld be stupid not to. now, when you finish all this, who would you tell your friends designed.developed the forum? joomla? i'll leavet that answer to you. it took me a long time to get along with open source. but you can't help it. it's the new way forward. simple. take me a web designer for example? i can pick up one of these tools and build myself a forum or blog or what have you. easily. if i was your younger brother, won't you sudgest that i rahter learn this first and get along with it so i can get things don quickly and still learn programming on this side than rather come to disturb you to build me a forum which would take you months to build? no doubt it makes so programmers lazy but it helps. it really helps. and its free. so what exactly is the point here. seun owns nairaland (full stop). if someone wants to buy this forum would they pay smf? no way!

hey guys, calm down. i checked that link a few days ago and saw the site. i think they're working on it or somthing cos i did'nt see anything close to "online soon"

ddonobi , good work on the site (u too gbaski!! lol ). yeah it's croweded and all (like i expected) but well arranged. i'll sudgest you leave the colours the way they are. i use a fairly large screen. maybe thats why i think its ok. green, red and blue might not go well when you talk about it but in your case i think its ok. this is because down the page you come to see those colours again and it strikes some kinda balance. for example, you have a red bar on top (for enquires, ). just below that theres the tourism link (also red), and below that the top destinations (which is also red). you also come across some reds on the flash banner. top models coming soon also has a % of red in it. same with the blue (business, education and the calendar below. the resort on the flash banner and the logo below. not to forgrt the O on the imostate logo). so there's so kind of balance between the colours. which works for me. because they try to take your mind off the fact that the site is too green which is totally cool. if the calendar is going, make the date on the search bar more visible. on the far right where you have [project update, tourism in imo, ], i'm not really feeling those images. and the fact that the download button/image is different makes the whole place look rough. try to make atleast clearer images for them. and they should all look the same. eg. if there is going to be an icon before the name like u have for downloads, let them all have icons.otherwise loose the icons for all of them.

hope u don't mind my asking. what graphics program do u use? there's this bogus look with all your graphics. it's like they take too much space on all of your works. every single one. i would'nt have commented on them, but since u posted them here, i though i should let u know (just my own observation).
