It is a big lie.
Nigerian Immigration is one of the most corrupt agencies in Nigeria

That was because you paid the exact amount for the passport forgetting the real naija factor where you have to pay “extra charges” to collect it.
She's right, no amount can bring passport booklet hodled by Nigerian government

On my previous post, it didn't make front page, because it hasn't affected any media personality or celebrity, anything that haven't affected those set of people I mentioned doesn't exist.

let me say this again, in the past 6 months or more, no passport booklet and no one is talking about it in Nigeria.. Its getting to everyone door step gradually.

Sometimes I despair about the way Nigerians think. It takes years to grow a business and reputation which can be destroyed with a thoughtless post. You should not use one instance to judge a company but use their records over a reasonable period of time to measure their service delivery.I ordered a TV from Jumia express and got it next day in abeokuta. I order from both Jumia and konga and Jumia delivers faster. It all depends on the seller, I ordered a washing machine from Jumia and waited six days but the machine was not despatched so I ordered from Jumia again but with a different seller and got the machine the third day. The previous one which I cancelled came two days later and I rejected it.

Oga you're talking super stories, no item shipped within Nigeria should take 7 to 8 working days. period!!

So konga that took 3 days to arrive, they're stupid abi? abeegi!!!

then make an option for using DHL dey there. So if you get the money, you go use am and if you don't, you use a cheaper alternative.

Jumia has never failed me sha, anyday dem wan deliver e no dey fail.

Maybe nah because I dey live in ikorodu sha grin

Thats why i said outside lagos, Konga uses 3 days outside lagos, jumia 7 to 8 days , thats the point

Firstly, you didn't mention the state you are in, only to start castigating the company. Also, if you had gone through the jumia website very well, You'd have seen the their delivery timelines for each region and state in Nigeria.

@ OP answer this question

Thirdly, most customers would give very vague directions/addresses or would put an address and would want item to be delivered elsewhere.

Yes they have their demerits too.

See below

I think have been shopping before you know about internet, you lack comprehension in English - is jumia not konga mate that used 3 days days to deliver item while jumia uses 7 days or more.

I thinks it's better to go shopping physically than employing online shopping apps to do that on ur behalf.. Most of the pictures u see online are always different to what they will deliver.. I ordered for 3 chinos trousers size 34 only for they to deliver three size 34 that are of different size.. Dem dey house nao I no fit wear. Even if I fast for 40days and night I still don't think they would size.... Na only God know the farmer wey dey sew for them atimes

you can easily easily return the package, but from experience shopper, I stopped buying anything cloth online esp from ali

This is a personal experience, I thought it would be nice I share with you guys.

I bought a product in China via DHL, it took around 4 to 5 days to arrive In Nigeria, Bought something that same time from Jumia, it took 7 or so days to get to me, and kept wondering why should something sold within Nigeria in this jet age take so much time to arrive, I even called to ask why and they kept to their national anthem "sorry for inconveniences" . Now an item I bought from Konga 3 days ago arrived today, I was like this is how is supposed to be. Jumia has been annoying and they have refused to improve - been shopping from Jumia & konga since 2015 or so.

share ur experience.

Nigerian government have been deliberately trying to impoverish everyone by any means possible, started from fuel and electricity hike, useless NIN registration, inflation.. list is endless, now for months business and tourist travelers in south east and west has been unable to collect their passport booklet for months, some claim 6 months or more, mine is 5 weeks and counting(east Nigeria). They'll collect your money (normal 30k express 35k), capture you and tell you they'll let you know when passport booklet is ready.. Goto @nigimmigration on twitter read comments and confirm my claims. media in Nigeria are quiet about it.. Please this should be on front page, is affecting many Nigerians.

Clinton594:
You can...
100$ Max per card per month.

So ideally, if you want to buy a product worth $150 , youhave three options.

OPTION 1
1. Wait till last day of the month ,
use your card and fund $100 on your Alipocket .
Then wait till the next day which is new month to fund the remaining $50.
Then when paying, instead of Paying with card, you pay from Alipocket.

OPTION 2
Get two cards,
Fund Alipocket from one, and complete the funding from the second card. Then make purchase from Alipocket.
This one you can complete in a day without waiting till end the month.

Browse how to fund Alipocket.

OPTION 3
go and request a dollar MasterCard. It doesn't have Naira MasterCard restrictions. And it's easy to acquire from GTB. Only that's it's costly.

Go make enquires about the card.

Thanks

I don't think I am even in the position to throw more light cos my few visits to cape Verde were all official duties and I didn't make time to look out for Nigerians residents, the few I saw at the airport, bars, on boat and beaches were yahoo boys on visit (cos by their appearance and loud mouthing you don't need a seer to tell you who they are).
you have mentioned the best option yourself. Visit the island first, then you can have a real life experience about the country then you decide on your next move

Thanks a lot bro.

gentlebullet:

Getting a resident permit on the island as a Nigerian is very difficult except you have loads of cash to start a business there so you will apply for work permit and then resident permit.
Remember the island's economy is tourism and seafood dependent so the authority is ready to tax you as much as it can.
I don't know about the cost of rent cos I stayed in hotels the few times I visited the island but from the little I know, it's not easy to rent an apartment without documention and getting documention means enough cash cos you will be charged in US dollars.
If you know you have got enough cash, then you can give it a try but if you really want to learn Portuguese, Cape Verde shouldn't be an option for you cos aside the cost, you wouldn't concentrate on learning the language. There are lots of distractions on the island.... The beautiful and friendly women, the beautiful beach, loads of alcohol, plenty english and french speaking visitors, etc will make you lose focus on the language my brother.
If you are really serious able learning Portuguese, your best bet is either Angola or Guninea-Bissau.
Angola will require a visa, the cost of living is high and also flight ticket but you will get to learn pure Portuguese.
Guninea-Bissau is an ecowas country so you won't need a visa, cost of living is very cheap, the country can be accessed by road, it's an underdeveloped country so luxury is scarce there and under such condition, you will learn the language fast cos you will be eager to pick up fast and leave. My 2cents though
The choice is yours Bro CHEERS!

Thanks alot for the insight, so no option for longer stay? even on education/study grand? or Nigerians dont stay there? throw more light please... But i will go see for myself, like taking 2 to 3 weeks to visit.

If you go to the passport office you will notice that alot of people will jet out of Nigeria for alot of reason. Nigeria I know but cape Verde I don't know, so please any one with valid information about CV should please show us the road so those who can't afford the almighty Europe, USA, Australia can at least see some where at least better to survive.
Those on ground let discuss Cabo Verde .

Please house, how can one work towards a long stay, to learn Portuguese and how much rent could cost me, at-least, for 6 months a year...

Please i need advice.

I will still maintain my stand which is "expensive is relative"
If you earn in Naira and have not been used to traveling by Air and paying hotel bills in US dollars, then it will look expensive to you when you travel and then yours bills are in dollars given with the current exchange rates as the naira is sick at the moment.
That is why i said you should first check out the price for flight on their website, check out for hotel price on booking.com, check out for cost of food, drinks, boat cruise, etc everything is online.
You can then make a judgement of if you can afford the trip or not. CHEERS

Hello people, my score in the pool currently is 393, my hubby and myself have masters. My last lelts result was L.7.5, W.6.5, R.7.0, S.7.5. I am taking the IELTS again later this month, I aim to score at least 8.7.7.7 to boost my score. I heard TEF can help boost my CRS score, can someone advise how TEF can help boost my score. I am willing to learn french seriously and try the exam in 3 months to see if it can help.

Me too I'm on the verge of learning french and writing TEF, Give TEF 8 to 12 months before writing the exam cos French is not an easy language but is do-able.

All french schools are closed for due to issues on the ground, you can be learning from YOUTUBE whilst the dust is clear
