You may be correct about the huge gap in SS3 and SS4. It's obvious the SS2 and SS1 are super saturated as shown in the chart here
However, something that is not clear to me is the recent 1,050 fresh graduates recruitment. May be they were placed on grades JS2....SS5 (total 975). So the remaining 75 could have been added to SS4?

I received a positive update on the EH recruitment yesterday . Thankfully, the exercise has not been cancelled but the cause of delay is the overhauling going on within the coy. They will need to retire some staff, upgrade some to ascertain the accurate number of EHs needed. (Recall that EHs will majorly be placed on between SS4 to SS3 as theres a huge gap in this cadre) EHs will be called after this process is concluded. My source got his info from a staff in HR. Let's keep ourselves engaged positively while keeping hope alive! One love!

Some information on NNPC cadre.

NNPC has 4 cadres as follows:

Junior staff JS 4 -1
Officer cadre SS6 -SS4
Supervisor Cadre: SS3 - SS1
Management Cadre: M6 - M1

Superintendent used to be a title for staff on SS1, and Supervisor for one on SS2 & SS3. However, Supervisor is now being used for staff on grade level SS3 - SS1. So it is not yet clear if the recent advertisement for Superintendent positions would mean SS1 for people hired.
Feel free to add any additional info you may have for any of the cadres.

Like I said last week the list won't be out till after ministerial inauguration. I was surfing through this thread yesterday when I same across a guy stating something about GMD not on seat or so. So I reached out to a friend and applicant as well who works out of GT Bank's branch at the towers
He met with a connect at the GMD office and she said the list is with him, his approval is what's left, it'll be done when he's back (I don't know the definition of back in this context).
She also said something about successful Candidate may go through portfolio interview to determine where one will be posted.
BTW NDIC recruited about 100 staff last two weeks, solo recruitment, imagine

APL will most likely happen before Aug. 13, considering that Aug 12 -13 will be a public holiday for Sallah/Eid-Kabir.
So it's either first week of August (4th - 9th Aug), or after the public holiday from 19th August.
I didn't comment after my interview, but my experience is such that the Panel tend to ask difficult questions if you have very high score (>=90%) in your CBT, and you are an EH. The lady that ushered me in knew my CBT Score, and they already discussed it before the USher-in to face Panel. So, on that note, CBT score may likely be aggregated with your interview score (confidence, communication, precision in answering, dressing, ect). It was the easiest interview I have had in my career life.
Okay ummm, best luck to everyone who are expecting. For me, I have had 2 other interviews with International Oil/Gas/Energy governance sectors after my NNPC interview, and it looks like I will not take NNPC offer even though I am highly likely to make it as an EH (SS1 to be precise).

Don't you think it's possible for them to form 15 sets of 6-member interview panel?
Check out the likely division of labour maths:
8 working hours in a day = 480 mins.
480 mins/10mins per interviewee = 48 interviewee per panel or 720 interviewee for 15 panels.
9 days * 720 = 6,480 interviewees covered in 9 days!

Nope, I applied for EH/Superintendent role and I believe I could rise quickly if I do a good job to earn good appraisals.
Like you rightly said, I am interested in the long-term job security, and what I could do for NNPC's visibility to sharpen its competitive edge among the global NOCs now diversifying their portfolios in the energy value-chain.
It's another ball game entirely if business intelligence outcome/findings will either be left on the shelf gathering dust as usual, or actioned for the NOC's transformation. I just hope and wish to work collaboratively with those very brilliant minds in NNPC or being recruited to take NNPC to the moon! Shey you copy?

My broda, if you are talking about considerations ahead, it is even much more complicated for me coz my current monthly salary is N2,527,655 (based on N400 per euro) though a tenured position that may not end before NNPC resumption schedule for new hires, neither will NNPC offer me half of that. I am keeping my fingers crossed to see what exactly is in the NNPC offer letter, which should come in handy because I usually find interview more easier for me to nail than Aptitude test! I have been out of school for a long time (14 years now), and I did not study any material for the nnpc aptitude test for 1 minute due to my busy workload, which is why I was super happy at my performance at the Test.

Like I said earlier, I cleared (57/60) in the Aptitude Test though no score in the invite but I have always been sure I will receive an invite for the interview even if it's less than 100 people they will invite from the whole of Nigeria! As an old veteran, I hardly say what I am not sure of, and thanks to those who acknowledged my correctness in the 2 combination questions I solved correctly during the day of my CBT.
However, I have another interview with the United Nations and is clashing with this one, but no worries I'll figure that out

The ECOWAS tricky questions came handy even though I didn't prepare for the NNPC test because I have attended more than 8 ECOWAS meetings, and I see those timeline usually written in ECOWAS conference materials. Generally, I used a Veteran experience.

I cleared those ones sharply. But i missed the Input/Output i.e. DVD in the whole of the 57 questions I found answers for after the test. Then I assumed that the remaining 2 English, and 1 sunlight reflection questions to which I couldn't find answers were all missed. In other words, I may hit above 56/60 Insha Allah.

Yes, I randomly calculated them based based on responses from Google, most answers on the Jarus link, on this forum, and few from online sources where the test questions were lifted indirectly. If you searched the way searched for correctness of my answers, by now you must definitely know how you perform with 100% accuracy! See most of you at the interview. I am deeply happy

On the SS categorization and salary scale, this is what I found guys. The salary figures with Q mark are estimates, all others are 100% correct. I hope this helps.

If 2 are always included, it means you only have to worry about forming a team of 6-2=4 (not 6 anymore) from the remaining 12-2=10 (not 12 anymore). Moreso, if 3 are always excluded, you are going to have to form a team of 6 from the remaining 12-3=9 as you rightly pointed out Sir.

When 3 are members are excluded from the group, the gruop poulation becomes (12-3)= 9. The selection becomes 9C6 which gives 84.
But when 2 members are included to the group, the group population becomes (12+2)= 14. The selection becomes 14C6 which gives 3003.
Since nothing was said of specific players being ( or not) being in the selection , the number of players to be selected remains the same.

Yes, I am for EH and I got the Combination Qs. I solved both and my answers were 210 and 84 for 2 included & 3 excluded respectively. I finished within 33 minutes, Lagos Centre.

Just a quick note here. The advert for NLNG postgrad scholarship came out since February, 2016 and it closes today June, 2016. That huge length of 4 months is simply to allow applicants to take English tests (IELTS Academic, TOEFL, etc.) which takes only 1 - 2 months to figure out. If you don's score average of 6.5 in IELTS Academic, forget the scholarship. If you scored 8.0 in IELTS Academic, it's not a guarantee also.
