Computers / Re: AMD vs Intel: Which Is Better? by New(m): 4:17pm On Oct 04, 2006
Christino:

I've used Cyrix, Motorola, Intel and AMD, what more do I need, plus my Last project, I had to do a research on the least processor to use, I settled for Motorola because of the pricing, Intel 386 or even 8080 woulda been a good choice!

grin grin

zebudaya:

When i bought my laptop it had AMD 64 bit Athlon processor 3200 ghz, equivalent to pentium 4 3.2 Ghz, ( so AMD says) it was 300 dollars cheaper, and it has never let me down.
So AMD for life!!!!!!!!!!!!

AMD 3200+ is not equivalent to the intel p4 3.2 ghz since they have different clock speeds and AMD's CPU naming convention doesn't represent its actual clock speed unlike intel's. the AMD 3200+ performs more like a 2.8ghz p4 and runs at about 2 ghz. here are a couple of  links to some test data

i'll go with Intel anyday. Of the last 20 years, i've always used intel based systems. I bought an AMD system once and dumped it after about 6 months cos it was crap for gaming and froze/crashed all the time (overheating).

here's some info I thought might be useful.

Almost all Intel 1.6A's out there can hit 2.4 GHz without even breaking a sweat, and many even can do 2.7 GHz.
With both processors overclocked, Intel still wins in terms of performance. Of course AMD's saving grace has always been price. AMD based systems and CPU's have always been a much better value, and they still are.

Cooling - The retail Intel heatsink is just designed so well. Not only does it have a massive amount of surface area to draw away the heat a P4 produces (highly clocked P4's can generate close to what high end AMD CPU's do), it also acts as a huge EMI shield!

Another point to keep in mind is how fragile the AMD CPU is. When's the last time you heard of someone that killed a P4 or P3 with heat? Or maybe having a heatsink crush the core? Now think about the horror stories you've heard about from AMD based processors.

Celebrities / Re: Whitney Houston Divorces Bobby Brown by New(m): 4:04pm On Sep 15, 2006
And some more: R&B pioneer Bobby Brown's sister fears for his wife Whitney Houston, telling a British newspaper the singer's life is in danger because of her alleged addiction of crack cocaine.
Self-confessed former addict Tina Brown tells The Sun newspaper that Houston has failed to beat her drug demons, despite a court-ordered visit to an Antiguan rehabilitation clinic in April 2005.
Tina alleges Houston is living in sordid conditions and regularly spends days away from her Atlanta, Ga., home, where she lives with her husband Brown and daughter Bobbi Kristina.
Tina says, "The truth needs to come out. Whitney won't stay off the drugs. It's every single day. It's so ugly. Everyone is so scared she's going to overdose."
The mother-of-six claims Houston's alleged drug use has made her paranoid that Brown will cheat on her.
Tina continues, "She'll point to the floor and say, 'See that demon. I'm telling you somebody's messing with my Bobby.' She always thinks it's something to do with Bobby. But it's her, hitting herself.
"I understand what she's going through. Addiction is a disease. Maybe this interview will save her life."

MORE WHITNEY DIRT FROM BOBBY BROWN'S SISTER.
Wow. Bobby Brown's sister Tina really spilled it all to the National Enquirer. First she took photos of Whitney Houston's drug den bathroom, then we learned Whit's got the fake teeth, and in this week's issue, she tells the sordid details of Whitney's alleged lesbian affairs. Tina said Whitney is with women when she is high on the crack (surprised?). She reportedly gets all crazy Hot on the cookie and then needs her some sex. But hey, those lesbian, bi-sexual, (whatever you wanna call it) rumors about Whitney have been around for a looooong time. Tina says that Bobby is well aware of his wife's extracurricular, sex crazed, drug induced activities with women and has said to Tina, "If you only knew. She's with this one and with that one."

She also told the Enquirer that Whitney has different colored intimacy gadgets scattered all over the house and Tina has to go and look for them so the children wont find them. Not to mention, the backstabbing sister in law also claimed that one time she was over at Bobby and Whitney's and when Whitney came running through the front door and straight into the bathroom, Bobby said matter-of-factly, "She bought a bag of toys." Tina says, "She locks herself in the bathroom and you hear like 'Vrooom!' She smokes some crack and says, 'I gotta go.' You know what she's gonna do. It's constant. She be in there for hours, and then I have to call out, 'You all right' She'll say, 'Yeah,' and she can't talk. Her voice is so hoarse." Eiyiyi. Heartbreaking. I do have a problem with Bobby's sister spilling all this dirt. Yes, Whitney is F to the U-C-K-E-D up, but come on! Her daughter Bobbi Kristina is only 13 years old and she will be teased and ridiculed because her mother's secrets are on the cover of the National Enquirer. That's just wrong. Talking about them here on Tabloid LovePeddler is, um, completely different. Eeeks! God forgive me!

I am unable to find any of the older stuff. maybe someone else can?

Celebrities / Re: Whitney Houston Divorces Bobby Brown by New(m): 3:46pm On Sep 15, 2006
Here's some proof: 'Tina Brown, Bobby's sister, tells the Enquirer she was Whitney's "drug buddy" for months, but their Thelma & Louise-on-crack adventures started to wear thin once Whitney started spending "days locked in her bathroom amidst piles of garbage, using intimacy gadgets to satisfy herself and ignoring personal hygiene." Poor Bobby: Everything we saw of him in Being Bobby Brown indicated the guy's just trying his hardest to be a good dad, a task not made any easier when you're required to explain to your kids that mommy missed their birthday dinner because she had an "important appointment with Dr. Spoon and Prof. Needles."' I'll try to get some more.

I don't think you guys are aware that it was Whitney that started Bobby on drugs. She's been using as far back as her first album.
Family / Re: Please Help, My Wife Wants To Leave Me by New(m): 2:27pm On Sep 15, 2006
Ask yourself this; Does she really want a divorce because she can't trust you anymore and is no longer in love with you or is it because she is seeing someone else?
It all seems a bit harsh to me.

mamaput:

!8 is good enough.
A car is a weapon and you just do not put a weapon in the hands of a child.
In Nigeria you have to be 18 by law. Everyother thing is backdoor method.
In fact if i could i will even increace the age for boys.
Here you get it at 18 and the first two years are on trial. If you mess up they take it from you.

I went to a driving school and got my Nigerian License legally at 16 (which was the age allowed by law). unofficially started at 12. We might think 'Nigerian driving school, what do they know?' Everything I learnt helped in passing my UK driving test first time when I moved to England.

I think 16 is about right on avg.

GermanLady:

wow I have learned something new today.in my culture it makes no differece if you give from right or left hand.never knew it makes such a difference in africa.

I am not sure but I thought I was reading on the net that it is not good to hand something over with the left hand because that is the hand you clean your butt after using the bathroom? but I'm not sure if I got this right.

No one said it made a difference in Libya, Egypt, Uganda or any other African country. They have stated that it makes a difference in various cultures within Nigeria.

Let's get the facts and not assume.  smiley
Romance / Re: Moving In With My Boyfriend: Advisable Or Not? by New(m): 1:31pm On Sep 04, 2006
Although I haven't read all the posts, it appears that a lot of people still feel that sex before marriage is taboo and that living with the person you love is unforgiveable!

I agree with mamaput's reasoning that knowing what your kid's are upto is preferable to pretending that they are still virgins. how many 18 year old virgins are in universities in Nigeria? How many tell their parents they are going to see a cousin, instead go to see a boyfriend?

Living with someone helps you know them better, their habits (good and bad), before accepting that this is person you would like to spend the rest of you life (60+ years) with, rather than getting married first and then realising that you don't actually want to be with this person.

In my opinion, as long as they are over 21 they can move in with their partners, 18+, they can spend weekends and holidays together 'cos i'd rather know!

I apologise didn't mean to hurt your feelings.

But, don't you think you'll feel like you have contributed to a worthy cause by giving it to a school or association that couldn't afford one?

It's a P3, 128 RAM, 11GB, 498 Mgz, DVD ROM, 1 USB port, Windows XP pro.

How does any software released after windows 98 run on that?

You are better off donating to a school (orphanage etc) or sending it to Eastern Europe, India or Togo
