@NAIRATREND.COM.NG The Special Assistant to Governor Ayodele Fayose on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, has chided the Ekiti State Governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi, over the request for security beef up ahead of his inauguration on October 16. Olayinka, in a statement, described Fayemi’s request to the Federal Government as an indication that the governor-elect was still be being hounded by the fraud he allegedly perpetrated in the July 14 election, in which he was declared winner. He said if Fayemi had truly won the election he would not have been afraid to walk freely in the state without being surrounded by armed security men. He said it was funny that the governor-elect, who was coming to take over power in Ekiti State, would require thousands of armed security men for his inauguration. Olayinka said, “It was this same fear of the unknown that made Fayemi to deploy police helicopters for aerial surveillance when he came to Ado Ekiti to receive his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission. “What is he afraid of? Shouldn’t the same people that purportedly voted for him be happy and eager to usher him into office?” GIST VIA - https://nairatrend.com.ng/inauguration-fayoses-aide-faults-fayemis-request-for-tightened-security/

The Public Relations Officer of the commission, Malam Yakub-Yahaya Talata-Mafara, confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview. Talata-Mafara said that the accident occurred around 3.00a.m on Friday, while they were travelling from Makkah to Madina, Saudi Arabia. According to him, the victims are six local government chairmen of APC from the state. “Three of them died, while three others are receiving treatment at Saudi Arabia Hospital,’’ Talata-Mafara told NAN. @NAIRATREND.COM.NG Barcelona manager, Ernesto Valverde, has said that Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus, could be a turning point in his rivalry with Lionel Messi. Barcelona and Real Madrid’s encounters were taken up a notch following Ronaldo’s move to the Bernabeu in 2009 and Ronaldo and Messi have won every Ballon d’Or for the last decade. “Ronaldo’s departure would seem to have ended the competition between Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo because people rarely mention one without mentioning the other,” Valverde told Barca Magazine. “A lot of people are interested, me too, to see how it will affect Real Madrid’s football and what they might do in the transfer market, and also knowing that Ronaldo is at another club and what that might mean for LaLiga and the Champions League too.” Clubs in Spain have until August 31 to sign new players. @NAIRATREND.COM.NG Cristiano Ronaldo says his dream is for Cristiano Jr to become a footballer just like him, as he has inherited his competitive nature. The 8-year-old has impressed with his freekick and tricks, which Ronaldo posts on his social media. And the Juventus star believes his eldest child will continue to follow in his example as he has the same motivation. “He’s very competitive, like me when I was young, and he doesn’t like to lose,” Ronaldo said on his unveiling as DAZN’s Global Ambassador. “He will be like me I am sure, 100 percent. I hope that with my experience with my motivation, my goals, I can teach him some stuff, but you know he is going to be whatever he wants. “I’m always going to support him, but of course I want Cristiano to be a football player because I think he has that drive. “He has a good body, he’s fast, he has skills, he can shoot, but as you know he’s going to make his decision and he’s so young, I’m not going to pressure him. But that is, of course, a dream, to see my boy a football player.” GIST VIA - https://nairatrend.com.ng/ronaldo-i-want-my-son-to-be-a-footballer-like-me/
