American Horror Story: 1984 is here and now we’re wondering how on earth this show is only now giving us 80s slasher movie.



The first few minutes of the new season (after the murder flashback) were a jazzercise dream, complete with leg warmers and hip thrusts and leg lifts that had us wondering if there are any gyms that currently offer such classes today.

We soon learned that the Olympics were looming in Los Angeles and this group of aerobics enthusiasts had plans to go be camp counselors in the woods, away from all the impending traffic. Brooke (Emma Roberts) wasn’t going to join, until she got attacked in her apartment by the infamous Night Stalker. She escaped by hitting him with a pan, but he told her he’d be coming after her again.

Once they arrived at the camp, they got the scoop from nurse Rita (Angelica Ross) and owner Margaret (Leslie Grossman).

Margaret was the lone survivor of a massacre that killed nine people at the camp in 1970. The murders were committed by Mr. Jingles, who carried jingling keys, and was a Vietnam vet who just really loved to kill. He worked at the camp as a janitor, and one night, something caused him to snap. He often liked to take his victims’ ears as trophies.



He was arrested and quickly convicted and sentenced to time in a high security mental hospital, and as we learned later, the news of the camp reopening (so Margaret could replace her bad memories with happy ones) prompted his escape.

The camp is also receiving mysterious phone calls, and counselors are getting weird voicemails, counselor Montana (Billie Lourd) is already getting MouthAction from activities director Trevor (Matthew Morrison), and Brooke may or may not be hallucinating, so it’s already a pretty perfect set up for the ultimate summer camp stabbing movie.

We’re also already terrified and, no joke, we got up to lock all our doors during a commercial break.

We sure are glad we’ll never have the opportunity to go to summer camp in 1984 Los Angeles, that’s for sure.

In a sneak peek of tomorrow’s finale of Bravo’s Flipping Exes, Nina and Michael go on a walk through of one of their renovation properties and something is amiss, according to Nina.

Michael sees nothing wrong. These are the cabinets, he says. This is where you guys laid them out!

Nina’s sure this was not where the cabinets were supposed to be, and Michael is sure that the cabinets are exactly where the cabinets are supposed to be, especially because he can still see the blue tape underneath.

Nina suggests that maybe one of the people who was putting in the floor moved some of the tape, which is ridiculous right, because why would they put the tape back?

*Joe Biden: The first 30 minutes of this debate — typically the time with the highest viewership — were Biden’s best moments in his entire campaign to date. He didn’t stumble as he had in previous debates and was able to show off his righteous anger side when Bernie Sanders seemed to suggest the former vice president was responsible for people getting cancer. (Worth noting: As the debate went on, Biden stumbled more.) Biden also got a bit lucky; Julián Castro’s blatant attempt to make Biden’s age an issue — he kept asking the former vice president if he was “forgetting” what had been said a few minutes before. Low blow. And sort of ugly — and likely to boomerang back on Castro (more on that below). Biden’s full embrace of Obama — all eight years, “good and bad” — was also smart, since Obama remains a hugely popular figure in the Democratic Party especially among black voters. From UFO to Bondage Rooms: Dutch Blogger Reveals Japan’s ‘Biggest’ Sex Motel, Hidden for Decades.

Although the industry of hideaways for lovers has been in decline in Japan for years, some of these abandoned love nests, where couples once sought privacy, are still well-preserved and offer urban explorers a sneak peek into the time of their heyday.



Urban explorer Bob Thissen has come across what he describes as “the biggest and most high-end love motel” he has ever seen in Japan, the Daily Mail reports. According to the outlet, he discovered the “gem” from a by-gone era on the Japanese island of Honshu and was struck by its well-preserved maze of rooms with bizarre interiors.

“This place had the craziest rooms I’ve ever seen, including moving UFO beds, a rotating merry-go-round bed, a bondage room and many more”, he told the outlet, refusing to give up its exact location, citing fears it might be destroyed or vandalised.

As the blogger explained, in Japan “multiple generations will often live in the same home so it can be difficult to get some much-needed privacy”, so many went to these locations which are quite common in Latin America and Asia.


According to Thissen, the layout of the building was designed to provide the guests and their partners maximum privacy. The visitors could get into their hideaway unnoticed through a garage door, reach the reception via telephone and send them money for the services via a special tube.



“You didn’t have to see anyone other than your partner for your whole stay. Rooms could be rented for a whole night but also for only an hour or two”, he explained.

The self-professed urban explorer said that the discovered love motel functioned during the Showa period under Emperor Hirohito, whose death in 1989 marked the beginning of the end for such establishments as it became difficult to open and run them.

Daniel Johnston, a singer-songwriter and visual artist whose childlike, haunted songs brought him acclaim as one of America’s most gifted outsider voices, was found dead on Wednesday morning at his home in Waller, Tex., outside Houston. He was 58.

A cross-section of Nigerians online have criticized attacks on South African business in parts of the country. The reprisal attacks according to reports were in the commercial capital of Lagos and parts of Ibadan in the southwest region.



The first report of an attack on a South African business was from Lekki in Lagos where a Shoprite mall was attacked and looted. Major South African firms in Nigeria include MTN, Shoprite, PEP stores and Multichoice DStv.

Jessi Combs, a television host and professional racer, died on Tuesday in Oregon while trying to set a world land speed record.

Ms. Combs’s death was confirmed in a statement by the Harney County Sheriff’s Office, which responded to the scene of the crash in the Alvord Desert in southeastern Oregon on Tuesday afternoon. The office said it did not yet know the cause of the crash.

In a statement provided to Jalopnik, the car publication, and others, her family said that Ms. Combs, 39, had been driving the North American Eagle, a 56-foot-long jetlike car capable of generating over 45,500 horsepower. The crash occurred on a dry lake bed.



“People that loved her and followed her became family, all bonded together by adventure and passion,” the statement said. “Her fans adored her, and she lived to inspire them.”

On Monday afternoon, the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, went dark — but it wasn’t some strange cosmic event.
