Only a few public universities in Nigeria are worth attending!
Based on what u typed (not what u actually mean), u are very right.
In English, when u say 'a few', it actually means the opposite of 'few', go and find out?

Come to think of it , your government told us that money budgeted for the purchase of arms where diverted , in other words these soldiers were not equipped with arms to fight the insurgents , how come you are charging the same soldiers for mutiny , you want them to go and commit suicide in sambisa ba?, this government is the biggest joke of the century
Which govt charged them for mutiny? Check very well, u will find out that ur hero was just... infact I don't know what to say.

Some of them don't read reports b4 making comments. If he did, how will describe the officer that way? An officer that was shot on the field.

I didn't read the whole report but I don't think this should affect the international wing. But if it does, how will they resolve cases of travellers who had booked about two weeks ahead from other countries? All these unannounced changes that characterise this administration is partly responsible for the soaring dollar/naira relationship. I can't imagine myself giving out #480k in exchange for $1k for God's sake. I don't know if this Travelex (or whatever they call themselves) are still working.

Likewise most northernerns in the south have to tread carefully too due to the high numbers of human ritualists, kidnappers, 419ers and armed robbers all over.

You are the one who was generalizing, though the situation is pronounced in the north, there are schools in every part of this country whose story is not different from the op's

I still repeat not in the east. Those who attend schools among them go there to learn. you can't rule out some few dull ones through. Is like me telling you those in Ibadan can not speak good English simply because in my secondary school than, we were still being taught what is pronoun in SS3
@ the highlighted, if that is the case, what makes u think that all the classrooms in the north are as displayed in the report? Haven't u seen worse cases in the East?

Thats the point, if the south spoke pigin, then its better if i hv served in the south ,i could have easily impacted knowledge using English, blc pigin is an adulterated form of english, so if they understood pigin, then English is not a problem.
And my point is 'pidgin is to the South what Hausa is to the North'. It is not learnt in the classroom and as such never a basis for differentiating levels of literacy. Meanwhile, with this ur English, how did u graduate from the university/poly? Just asking.

Which pidgin English for Easthuh if you say south south
Some of my colleagues (graduates) are from the East and I will tell u most of them speak rubbish in the name of English. Give them a simple task that involves writing, hmm, u will end up doing the job urself and since it is a govt parastatal where productivity is of no use, they remain. I have come across a graduate of English who doesn't know the difference between 'later' and 'latter'. Unbelievable but true.

Your arguements isnt true, i was even praying my students in kebbi state understood pigin back then as a corper, u need to have a tleast a formal education before you speak pigin.
Pidgin is spoken in the south by illiterates, don't tell me what I know bro. Is pidgin taught in schools?

Typical southerner arrogant beyond measure yet completely ignorant about life. You think you are better than northerners yet whenever we meet in school, we always beat your crappy ass. What do you know about the north someone who has been to only a single state suddenly becomes and expert about how things are in the north. You are minuscule speck in a far bigger world, what have you achieved in your life that has made you so arrogant
Practically, nothing. The only thing he has achieved is pointing fingers at who he thinks is uneducated while he swims in an ocean of total and very dark ignorance.
Annoyingly, most of them are defeated whenever there is any intellectual argument between them and the northerners and their only way out is resorting to insult.
Just take a look at most of their responses so far.

Bro am not here to argue with u who speaks correct english or not but what am saying in essence is that your people literacy level is too low because your type prefer selling them to the socalled english south u stated as English literate whereas they are just good as your local champions that believes that Nigeria starts and end in Hausa land with Hausa language.
Bro, ur English is disgusting and to think u are even arguing about English speaking is quite amusing. Go and learn the language first because u are not even qualified to distinguish between who speaks it well or otherwise.

Queen english is not what a southern and Nothern Nigerian use in business cos out of justifying what I don't know u made fool of your self by saying that queen english cut across... Who dey speak queen english self without blunders
Not really bro, rather it is u fooling urself by concluding that pidgin is the language used for business. Yes, the way u use pidgin for ur business in ur South is the same way we use Hausa for our informal business transactions in the North.
Queen English is hardly spoken without error but not for the illiterate farmers or market women cos they can't even speak faulty English.
Just imagine ur written English, and this one might be carrying one certificate parading himself as a graduate.

And the question is what type of English cuts across cos I don't understand what you are defending
The English that cuts across is what is referred to as 'Queen English'. The type spoken by the English in England. The American English is also acceptable, not pidgin. Pidgin is not a measure of literacy because illiterate market women and farmers who never had any form of formal education speak it fluently. Same applies to Hausa in the north.

Don't be decisive any person speaking pidgin can understand English.
Am from south south, served at Benue state then. The north is zero when it comes to education!
I have come across corpers from the south who cannot piece up few words to make a simple correct sentence. It will interest u to know that majority of nlders are from the south and if their level of education is anything to go by, hmm. There was a corp member then at my orientation camp who was busy telling one of the soldiers "oga I want go sh_it". And that is the only way she could express herself. When she wanted to correct herself, she said " oga I want to go and sh_it", can u imagine? And that same 'graduate' will be somewhere saying the north is educationally backward. Abeg I no fit laff jawe.

What are u even saying.... Vernacular or No vernacular, Its english and can be understood by anybody across the country and even outside the country..

U need to borrow ideas from Siere lone cos the jinx of the matter is no matter how polished. Your English is, there is diffrence between a native speaker and your Nigeria accent english....

So u better free children to speak what we know best in Nija
Bro, Hausa is to the north what pidgin is to the south. The only language that cuts across is English and whatever obtains in the north in this English applies to the south. U don't need to be in the classroom to understand pidgin in the south and same applies to Hausa in the north.

Pidgin English or correct English, have got no problem with any of the two. All am after is 'talking to them easily without having to go beg for an interpreter.

undecided undecided
Both languages are vernacular and u can't justifiably qualify the speaker of one as literate over the speaker of the other. U don't need to be in the classroom to understand pidgin. Same applies in the North, u don't have to be in the classroom to understand Hausa.

The use of a lower case letter for a possessive pronoun is a form of illiteracy bro. Literacy is not just about reading and writing, writing well is part of it.
