Yeah, that's why we've said to each his own, but the point we're trying to make is that a security house attached to the fence does not necessarily offer better security than a stand alone security house. If the only benefit lies in giving the security man a view of the entrance/streets like peeps on here have suggested, then I believe this can be better achieved by installing see-through gates and fence rails instead of attaching the house to the fence.

it does not, but think about it this way, a thief getting in through the gateman's wall is the same as a theif getting through the fence wall, the wall is still the same thickness all round, if the thief breaks in through the wall, what makes you think he won't break through the other walls. Never forget the essence of this security measures is to alert the residents of a suspected attack.
Usually Windows are not installed on that bounding walls, a theif quietly pointing a gun through the window would not want to fire.
I personally don't like see through, while you protect your house against human invaders with see through railings, you leave your house vulnerable to snakes and other crawling animals.... No good to me.

Everything boils down to choice though. And if we take cost into view, a local man will not want to employ the use of cctv com cams and automated security measures.

Intruders can gain entrance from other sides of the compound not in view from the windows of the security house na, so your logic doesn't really add up. Your security man will also not be looking out of his windows 247 and the windows cannot even offer a view all round the perimeter of the compound, so that is even worse than a down time for CCTV. If I'm not mistaken, I believe CCTV can be linked to more than one monitor, including smart phones, so I see no reason why the security house cannot have a monitor as well. And you can always back up your CCTV with alternative power, to reduce down time.

As for having his windows closed, well except he has A/C in there, I don't see how your security man can stay in there with the windows closed all the time, without any ventilation. I'm pretty sure most peeps without an A/C in their houses do keep their windows open most of the time and this is usually the case with most security houses. I know someone that was shot (assassinated) close up, through his window, while he was asleep.

The focus is about the entrance where people usually walk through, in a setting the access road runs in front of the building and gate directly in front of the road.

Okay are you saying the security man will also have a monitor in his room, and inverter should power the cctv, i have never seen that! Aboki with cctv monitors. Tueh!

I understand what you are saying but that model works well, gateman don't have access to cctv control rooms, because it also monitors the gateman itself. Extending it will also giveout the fact that he is being monitored and he can also find blind spots to do anyhow.

I think your perimeter fence has to provide some sort of security for your security man as well. If you need to monitor what goes on outside your perimeter fence, I believe It's best to do it with CCTV cameras and/or motion sensors, afterall no matter how you do your security house, your security man will still be "blind" on at least 2 other sides of your perimeter fence...

Imagine if you there's power shortage and cctv is malfunctioning or not being monitored by the operator, how then do you sight unwanted visitors,

never forget, that arm robbers would not want to make noise while trying to gain entry, pointing a gun through a window with glass and bulglary proof won't be a smart way to gain entry.

Or are you suggesting that the gateman will always have access to the cctv control room if oga is not around. Think about it?

They will certainly regret it, first the tussle for nigerians who will work with them will be by tribal selection. Receiving heavy sanctions and fines, poor security, no 24/7 electricity. if they decide to endure it, the product won't benefit most Nigerians cos it must be costly, then only few will buy it.

Then those collecting bribes at port will kick against it, how do you expect them to continue doing their shady business if you start producing what they're collecting bribe from.

Let me educate you a little as a professional...
Firstly, I advertised Engineering Design because i am a Coren registered Engineer. I never Advertised designing architectural drawings for 48hours.

Secondly, When you are good at what you do, 48 hours will be a very long time for designing structural drawings for just one residential buildings like duplex

Thirdly, We are in a technology age now, with help of the right softwares and good engineering calculation skill and experience.... 48 hours is too much for a structural engineer to produce structural drawings for a simple duplex...

To Burst Your Head... I Finish the Real calculations and drafting in 2hours using quickCivilSeries, orion and PRota structures software.
The reason i mention 48hours is to allow time for checks and mistakes that can be corrected...

Technology is moving... Move with the trend... For \example in entertainment industry, Music singles is done now within 1 hour now... something that takes old studio weeks.

I get shocked when some persons here brag on how they can deliver a design in 48hrs.

48hrs, it leaves a wrong impression on the professional and the professionals, that is why some clients price architects like peanuts, imagine paying a lot for a 2 days design, ridiculous
