@MzD@rkskin, I really think u'd do better studying than hanging out here. U look like , do u know Albert Einstein? Yeah, yeah, the dead genius of course! On the other hand, NL could give you an opportunity to unwind with the craziest guys and girls here. So would you want us to have a little party for you right here? |
And don't get me wrong yet @tjskii, I don't think I intend to hit on you anyways. U look friendly and good. Good people don't meddle with naughty people , like me? So, please feel free to answer why u chose such an obsure profile name. |
tjskii:Well, I can only guess the nicest words are usually the truest ones. Thanks for the "compliment". But, I have one problem with you: why use the handle "tjskii"? It sounds so unlike what you look like. It sounds absurd. |

Look, what I'm going to say is going to hurt but I have to say it; quit your job! Yeah. Quit your job. I did the same thing after 3 days of just getting employment because it never afforded me any time to do the things I loved the most - writing, thinking up fresh ideas, and enjoying my independence. ALot of sentiment and surprise was registered, especially with my manager but I had to do what I had to do. You have to find a business you can do though. I decided to start up a computer training school. Now I apart from enjoying the feeling of impacting good knowledge to people and empowering them, I also find enough time to do all the writing I enjoy doing. Will be publishing my first book soon enough and Nairaland will surely hear about it. It's a thriller novel. Guess what - a cyber thriller with setting right here in Nigeria! I'm so excited about it! Really, I am. My final words: before you quit, think up a business you can start and run comfortably - it could be a service or trading in physical products. Just make sure you enjoy it too, and have a fair amount of knowledge and experience in it. Youi'll experience fear (I've been there believe me!) before deciding but the passion in you will win at the end of the day: cheers! |
Congratulations and thanks alot! |
olulu:Great! That means our Nigerian best-selling artistes might as well re-record their best-sellers.ie. the ones with those smashing melodies, along with new lyrics. I hope we'll enjoy them thereafter. P.S: I can imagine what "Fall in Love" melody would sound like if D'Banj rewrote the lyrics to sing a song for Nigeria. LOL!!! No LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOng thing, |
Respected Teacher, My Son will have to learn, I know That all men are not just, all men are not true, but teach him also That for every scoundrel, there is a Hero That for every selfish politician, there is a dedicated leader Teach him that for every enemy, there is a friend It will take time, I know; but teach him if you can That a doller earned is of far more value than five found Teach him to learn to lose and also enjoy winning Steer him away from envy, if you can Teach him the secret of quiet laughter Let him learn early that the Bullies are easiest to Lick Teach him if you can, the wonder of books, But also give Quiet time to ponder over the eternal mystery of birds in the sky, bees in the sun and flowers on a green hills - side In school teach him it is far more honourable to fail than to cheat Teach him to have faith in his own ideas even if everyone tells him they are wrong Teach him to be gentle with gentle people and tough with the tough Try to give my son the strength not to follow the crowd when everyone is getting on the Bandwagon Teach him to listen to all men but teach him also to filter all he hears on a screen of truth and take only the good that comes through Teach him, if you can,how to laugh when he is sad Teach him there is no shame in tears Teach him to scoff at cynics and to beware of too much sweetness Teach him to sell his Brawn and Brain to the highest bidders, but never to put a price tag on his heart and soul Teach him to close his Ears to a Howling Mob, And to stand and Flight If he Thinks he is right Treat him gently; but do not cuddle him because only the test of Fire Makes Fine Steel Let him have the courage to be important Let him have the patience to brave Teach him always to have sublime faith in himself because then he will always have sublime faith in mankind This is a bid order; but see what you can do He is such a fine little fellow, my son. -Abraham Lincoln. "You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them What they could do for themselves." -Abraham Lincoln (SOURCE: Freedom First, May 1989) |
Shout out to all Nairalanders in this beautiful room where words are the building blocks we use in building our houses. I need a great answer to a little question I have: What are the practical steps I should take to starting a magazine? I've been working on starting one, and I'd appreciate contributors too. P.S: Editorial is geared towards the youths. Cheers! |
Guys I need your help as well as ur opinion on this. Prior to this time, I used to think Record Labels in Nigeria ran the same system as those in the US, but Jeez! They are the most unreliable shit in the world! Guys, how can one break thru in the Nigerian music scene, especially these days. Let's forget about Record Labels; coz I know they don't work. |
I know my title sounds stupid but I mean what I am thinking. My name's Chyke and I am an R n B singer/ song writer with 4 to 5 hit tracks out of a 14-tracker album. The main hit track is a cover version of an old skoll r n b song done in the 80s which I rewrote in pidgin english and with nigerian flavours. I can describe myself as a better "P-Square" in terms of song lyrics and dance performance skills on stage. . |
Hi Mr Alao (if I'm right?) "Dragonnigga"! My name's Chyke and I am a vocalist/ songwriter. My style is R n B flavoured following the style of Usher Raymond who is my chief mentor. Let's paint me as a far better "P-Square" in terms of catchy lyrics and dance performance style. Won't mind a call or email sir - thanks (wink!) No: +2347030833405 Email: w3angel@gmail.com |
I'm sorry but haven't you guys seen these two vids? Flavour - Oyi na tum P-Square - I Love U These videos from the theme of the song, to directing and performance (in terms of acting) by the artistes made it in my bad books definitely, Watch and judge yourself, |
Naturally and truthfully, men are designed to be naturally more emotional than women. Why? Because men are supposed to be the lovers - meaning that women aren't really designed to show love. Women can cherish someone very much and are supposed to respect the guys, but they aren't built to display love, |
The hottest single by our very own (and maybe ONLY one as far as I know) Nigerian R n B artiste, "CK" - "Sweetest Part of Me", I dedicate it to my baby Mima! |
Hello! The name's CK and I'm a R n B songwriter/ singer. I'm game. Here's my email and number: w3angel@gmail.com 07030833405 P.S: Would honestly appreciate a call preferably. I would love to know how far with the project so I cancontributemy quota too. Thanks alot. |
From my point of view, if you really believe deep in yourself that you have GREAT flair for music, then damn what anyone may have told you about the "gutter riches" in hairdressing. If you are talented in music, invest in learning music production. Alot of quark producers are out there even trying to make a modest living out of it; how much more for one talented in music. Trust me, you will make it and even etch a name out for yourself in the music industry both here and abroad. By the way, who told you that the money in music production isn't floody? Cheers!!! |
ABOUT ME: A lot of things have happened to me; nothing you should be afraid of, but just realize that if we get together that you're in for a wild one. I've toured 3 cities in Nigeria I've never been to before in search of fun and love; though they turn out to be fakes. That is women who say they are what they aren't. I am an R & B musician - aspiring! Peaceful but energetic and athletic. I love staying up late -- whether it's to party, have Sxx, read a good book or just watch TV. ABOUT THE ONE I AM LOOKING FOR: I'd rather be with a guy who has big dreams and no money than a guy with no dreams and big money. I must admit, I am a bit of a bad boy, though the quiet type of "bad" if someone outside me is to judge by my appearance. But I have more good in my heart than the typical devil. I want a woman - OLDER woman who will tame me, as well as push me to my limits and then pull me back with a warm hug and a wet kiss at the last minute. Truth is, I'm just a nice guy looking for love and companionship in an older woman; though if money comes with it, NO PROBS! But - I love older women who are beautiful, mostly on the fair-skinned side, and that have a great sense of humour and adventure. She should be romantic. I want a woman who can hold me spell-bound with the story of her life. I also love creativity and passion in a woman. If you're comfortable in hanging out with a guy like me, regardless your age or looks, if you're confident and not afraid to expose your weak sides, then I'm sure we'll get along just fine. But I will say that if you have a passion for music, or sing well, or even a musician already, then I am already melting. MY IDEA OF OUR PERFECT FIRST DATE: We've built up such chemistry on the phone that when I open the door and see you, I grab you by the back of the neck and kiss you before I even leave the house. MY PERCEPTION OF AN IDEAL RELATIONSHIP: Complete and utter comfort. I can be myself around you without feeling judged. You can sit in your room working while I lay on your lap composing a song and I'm entirely content. I only have eyes for you, you only have eyes for me and we communicate this verbally, physically and often. Down and dirty Sxx and warm and comforting cuddling are ever present. Fights are rare and when we do get into it, we don't stop talking until we've reached some sort of peace. Unparalleled companionship, unprecedented generosity and unconditional love grant us the foundation for a lasting long-term relationship. WHAT I'VE LEARNED FROM PAST RELATIONSHIPS: Seeing your dentist often is important. Laughing is essential. Perfection is impossible. Better to be single than to be in a bad relationship. If it's worth it, I'll work for it; if it's not, I won't. Don't say anything you'll regret because you can't take it back. Finally, you must expose yourself emotionally -- it's the only way to reap love's greatest rewards. So if you're comfortable with me and you think we can set it off, tell me first, "What is your favourite love song?" My email: w3angel@gmail.com Phone: 07030833405 |
