How long will it take to confirm or reject an individual's appointment? what's with all the delay?

Christianity EtcRe: How To Understand Mathew 10:34 by ngolokante(m):
This is a very lame attempt at distortion of facts... All the verses from 34 - 39 say nothing peaceful. In fact what the author has just done is to highlight other verses in the Bible that promote violence and rancor... all the quoted verses are about violence and turning parents against children and children against parents... I saw someone referring to Qur'an Chapter 2 verse 191 as a justification of violence in Islam, but you see a liar and an hypocrite will always be one... If you read that particular verse from beginning to the end, one would find clear directives that if hostilities is ceased towards the Muslims, then they should also stop immediately... And till now no Christian preacher of Islam being a violent religion has been able to disprove the fact that there is no place in the Qur'an where there is reference to armed struggle and the verse immediately preceding or succeeding that verse does not order an immediate ceasation hostilities and for people to coexist in peace... I hate dabbling into this topic of pointing out violence in Islam and Christianity, but some people like the author of this post have deliberately set out to misinform people, set people against each other and vilify others that don't accept their faith, but as a true Muslim I know for a fact that that is not what Christianity is about... What sort of a person would wake up on a Sunday morning and rather than go to Church and read his Bible, he comes on air and tries to spread discord... Shame on him!.... Why can't we just live in peace and love our neighbours like we love ourselves? I find so much relief and comfort in what the person above me said... All we need is love, tolerance and understanding...

You are very correct; unfortunately those criticising are only doing so driven by their blind hatred of the current Oga at the top; but not based on common sense and logic.

They won't see the current scenario of importing vehicles through Cotonou etc, without paying the appropriated tariff as tantamount to smuggling and therefore economic sabotage by depriving the same govt they are criticising from much needed revenue to effectively address some of those civic responsibilities it is failing to do for want of revenue.

Nigerians are therefore part of the problem and not the solution for which they are blaming their own government.

Admittedly, it is a bitter medicine to swallow but a medicine that eventually must be swallowed if we are to help and protect our own industries - just like how we were forced to accept the removal of fuel subsidy after suffering the harsh reality of scarcity.
God bless you sir... You just said it all..

Boss, cool ur temper.
1. In this post, u once referred a sitting Governor Fayose's dressings as "attention seeking schemes", indirectly connoting that he is an attention seeker.
https://www.nairaland.com/3507404/fayose-masked-set-celebrate-christmas/1#51739416
2. In another post, u said that Dalung, the current sports minister "epitomizes the failures of this administration".
https://www.nairaland.com/3505559/falcons-seize-awcon-trophy-reject/2#51708849
3. In a third post, u called Reno Omokiri, a former spokesperson of the former president of ur nation "a serial and caught out liar".
https://www.nairaland.com/3497549/one-meal-day-only-promise/2#51573509
4. Another time, u called ur former president, Jonathan "clownish drunk".
https://www.nairaland.com/3446871/why-buhari-alone-blame-nigerias/4#50810495
5. U also once called the head of NCC "mumu".
https://www.nairaland.com/3493785/why-ncc-asked-big-operators/1#51507673
U might have had justifiable reasons to make such comments about them but the fact remains that those comments were denigrating.
If it's not right for someone to make denigrating comment about Buratai on a faceless forum, then I wonder whether it's right for u to make denigrating comments about ur leaders on the same forum as I pointed above. I don't wish to talk about cowardice as u brought up because I don't want to delve into whether u can call Jonathan a clown and a drunk in his face.
I am not trying to condemn u for making the comments but just to point out to u that everybody, including me and u (as I pointed above) makes denigrating comments about our leaders.
Boss, nairaland is fun, that's all and it never should be taken seriously.
By the way, try to marshal that midfield well tomorrow o, I gave Chelsea straight win.
Hahaha... I like your stance and how you drive home your point.... Very gentlemanly and instructive too... But you see their is a difference... I didn't say all those things for fun, I said it coz I meant them and more so as nobody just informed me by quoting relevant sections of the law for me that what I am saying was punishable as was done to the fellow who made the statement about Buratai coming to collect his chicken change since he wants to violate the law for an entire year. I took those stance coz the actions of the individuals involved have impacted on us as Nigerians in one way or another... You know Fayose is seeking attention and wouldn't do some of these things he does if he didn't have immunity; doesn't Dalung epitomize the failures of the current admin? and believe me as a die hard supporter of Buhari, it's very hard for me to say that; for uncle Jonah, he does not command the Armed Forces anymore neither does he head the Nigerian state again, all his F ups are out to be treated and anyone can do that to his face now; for Reno or is it Wendell Simlin, you know it's d truth, the man is a liar and as been caught out for spreading false news capable of inciting tribal and religious wars... You see I am not trying to justify whatever I said that might have been wrong, I just place my country over and above any individual or personal sentiments... I believe that if one doesn't stand for something, he falls for everything, and I'd like to re-emphasize, if I am made to understand that I am breaking the law by pointing those things I said about those individuals, I will drop them immediately coz the laws of Nigeria are more than my personal takes but as I have said you were most instructive in driving home your point and some folks on NL probably need not to be taken seriously...but still there should be a line between catching fun and provocation...
Oh I forgot that our midfield is giving Conte a selection headache o, but as the coach said, we like dat kind of headache... Cheers

Buratai himself doesn't even mind what people speak about him on social media, if not he would have already threatened so many nairalanders. Even, so many people on this forum have been guilty of saying one bad thing or the other about Buhari or Jonathan, and these leaders haven't yet come to nairaland to threaten them. So, calm down with the guy. No need for threats.

My Dear.

Wisdom makes one to know what to do at the right time, the policy is a good one but the timing is wrong. Nigerians are already in a harsh economy, why making things more difficult at this time.

Even before this administration, 70-80% of Nigerians cannot afford a brand new car, and right now alot of people have parked their cars trying to survive this harsh administration.

The president should look for better policies that will reduce hardship for the masses.
True, but if the economic condition is harsh enuf that people can't afford a brand new car and even the tokunbo too as it is now, so why won't we start looking for how to make the markets work for us...the only people that benefit from importation of cars are the politicians who own almost all the car stands(at least) in the North...but with this policy, IVM and other local car makers can grow and employ much more Nigerians than the sellers of tokunbo cars currently employ...there is no better time to do anything other than now...infact going by the old saying, the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago and the next best time to do it is now...imagine if this policy had come into existence 20 or even 10 years ago...IVM would be producing much better cars now and the prices of their car would have dropped and if IVM were to be vibrant and competing favourably with foreign cars in OUR markets, the prices of those cars would have crashed by now too...

I see a lot of people shouting dat this policy is not good for business, yet the same people shout that the government is not supporting Innoson...How on earth do you expect IVM to grow when it is competing with Toyota, Honda and the rest foreign car makers? It's not even as if IVM is competing against brand new cars but second handed ones...This policy serves 2 purposes, it helps IVM and any other local car maker grow and it can also force the foreign manufacturers to come and open their plants in Nigeria...Imagine we are one of the largest markets for Toyota and Honda globally, yet there is not a single assembly plant in Nigeria, yet Mitsubshi has a plant in Egypt and BMW has one in South Africa...common people

If you guys don't like the idea of a Christian court, object it with enough vigour for the idea to be jettisoned and don't drag Muslims into your objections...You guys' opposition to the proposed Court is very succinct, but you spoil it when you drag Sharia Law Courts into it...oppose your court on the ground that you Christians don't want it and for very obvious reasons too...Which versions of the Bible would you guys use as authority for instance or would a Catholic accept an Ecclesiastical or Pentecostal Christian Court to adjudicate for him. You are free to oppose upgrading and recognition of Sharia Courts beyond their current status, but don't hide behind that as a reason for you to show disdain for the establishment of a Christian Court.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Christians Should Reject The Bill For A Christian Court In Nigeria by ngolokante(m): 1:09pm On Dec 07, 2016
alBHAGDADI:
Why Christians should reject the bill for a Christian court in Nigeria

1. It is Satan's approach

Christians setting up a court for themselves is equivalent to dumping God's provided way of doing things and adopting Satan's approach. God has made it clear that we should settle our disputes in the church and it should be done by the elders.

1 Corinthians 1:6
If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord's people?

2. Its result won't help christianity

The result of Nigeria having a Christian court won't help the christian course it might pose to want to help. It's the same way Christian churches build universities that are of no help to Christianity but a business venture that the poor cannot partake in. We've all seen the huge mistake of Christian churches owning schools. The call for a Christian court, by a few, is almost like calling for Christians to have their own Armed Forces. Christianity does not operate like the world does.

3. We never clamoured for it

I can't seem to see where Christians clamoured for a Christian court, the equivalent of a Muslim Sharia court. Then why is a certain house of representative, Hon. Gyang Dung, pushing this bill in the National Assembly? Have we told him that we are fed up of God's own approach to doing things and now want to set up our own worldly way?

4. It is a ploy to push a hidden agenda

The bill passed a 2nd reading. Once this bill is passed into law, it will definitely amend the constitution of the nation. This is exactly what the Sharia proponents have been able finding difficult to achieve. Amending the constitution will see the christian court to appear in all states of the federation, even in the core northern states. This is something Muslims will take advantage of by pushing for a Sharia court bill, which if passed, will allow Sharia to get out of its caged hole in the Muslim north and spread to the christian south, a thing it seriously desires. It means that Christians have foolishly helped what they fear, simply because they failed to adhere to their God's standard which is settling disputes in the church and by elders, not in a court.

5. The court will be useless in Nigeria

It will be useless in the South because true Christians are ordered to forgive each other and not strive against each other. This will make the courts have less cases to settle. What about in the North? We are already seeing churches getting burnt in the North. Such courts will hold no value over there cos the illiterate Northerners won't mind discarding whatever judgment it issues as long as it doesn't favour their fellow Muslim. But if their Sharia court should have access to the south, a northerner based in the south will prefer to take a case against a Christian to Sharia courts instead of a secular court. The sad part is that the case will go through proceedings without interference, unlike in the north where an angry illiterate mob can disrupt proceedings of a Christian court just as we see them burn churches who worship on Fridays.

6. Our clamour is for the abolishment of religious courts

This is what Hon Gyang Dung should be pushing in the National Assembly. The current Sharia courts do not favour people of other religion when they are dragged to it. This could be attributed to a word in their Quran which says Muslims are to be kind with one another but harsh or severe to the unbelievers.

Quran 48:29
Mohammed is the messenger of Allah and those with him are HARSH against the DISBELIEVERS but MERCIFUL among THEMSELVES.

But I can assure you that Muslims will get fair justice if dragged to the proposed Christian court, cos Christians are God's children who should be like God who show no partiality.

English Standard Version
Romans 2:11
"For God shows no partiality."

Every Christian should rise up against this bill cos it doesn't represent Christianity but a dark force with an aim of luring Christians away from their God provided standard.
What manner of hogwash!!!...You will just wake up and go and quote verses from the Qur'an and due to your bigotted, wicked and divisive mindset, you will deliberately ignore verses of the Qur'an that admonish Muslims never to harm their neighbours. Even the verse you quoted from the Qur'an, the preceding or succeeding verses preach peace but of course it will be too much for you to refer to them
"But I can assure you that Muslims will get fair justice if dragged to the proposed Christian court, cos Christians are God's children who should be like God who show no partiality" says who? If you in particular were to be God's child, you wont deliberately set about misinforming people or spreading ignorance just to malign Islam...I just wonder what you guys' problem really is....Sharia Courts came up, you shouted it was an attempt to Islamize Nigeria, Christians courts came up, you still blame Muslims and Islam...What is it sef?
